Here is a good review of the Ryzen 2700X vs the 8700K - https://thinkcomputers.org/amd-ryzen-7-2700x-processor-review/
The only thing I don't like about this review is the charts are set to show a big difference even if there is a one frame difference, you have to look at the numbers to fully...
I saw a post from the ASROCK forum where a guy claimed to get a 3% boost by disabling Dr debug in the bios. He could not have been more right.
I had mine set to show the cpu temp. Last month I noticed I lost around 50 points in CINEBENCH and for some reason I lost 5 frames from METRO REDUX...
I had the same issue you had, the fix is to do a fresh reboot then delete the AMD folder on your C drive. Launch the new 17.40 chipset drivers it will recreate the AMD folder and dump the new files there then start the install.
The AMD folder is just a place where the files get unpacked I...
cpu-z and Ryzen master always show the correct speed. If you are using Ryzen Master to overclock Windows does not dynamically change to the correct speed.
Problem: a thing called TDR checker monitors the computers hardware, particularly the GPU, is say the GPU stops responding with the computer for 2 seconds TDR checker restarts the driver. The TDR checker was good on paper but did not work in the real world. as a gpu can stop responding when it...
I walked into my local Costco last month and they had this monitor for 599.99, although I did not come into Costco to buy a monitor I walked out with one. It is by far the best monitor I have ever owned.
The reviews on the major retailers is still very good for this monitor including most people that post here. The color is great for a TN panel, this is by far the best monitor I have ever owned. Uniformity and color are great and its super fast what else can you ask for. Mine had no dead pixels...
Panel uniformity and color reproduction are two different things. Read the reviews of the Asus and Acer IPS panels, just about every one stated the top 3rd of the panel was noticeably different than the bottom, this panel does not suffer that problem. Color reproduction is very good on this...
Dell has made a great gaming monitor, It uses one of the best if not the best TN panel available, it has an 8 bit panel and none of the quality control issues Asus and Acer has. The reviews on Amazon and New egg also back up my statement.
Its faster and has better uniformity than recent IPS...
go to color management and add it then make it your default color profile.
Go to search in windows version 7-8-10 then type color then select color management.
I set my brightness to 20, left gamma alone in the monitor setting, turned off deep sleep
download the dell_s2716dg.icc file from tft central
In my nvidia control panel I set gamma to .80 and digital vibrance to 63%
This gave the panel outstanding colors for me.
I was reading the most recent reviews on new-egg that's what many people said. I like Asus motherboards but their support is the worst and QC on monitors is sad. At least with Dell you get great support.
You will pay more for 2560*1440 and 8 bit color which the XL2720Z does not have. I love the BenQ btw I have one too. I gave it to my daughter when i upgraded to the Dell.
The picture on this monitor is great and most of the reviews agree with me. The panel uniformity is the best I have seen...
The new Dell S2716DG is a great gaming monitor, It has G-sync, 144hz, 8 bit panel (TN)
2560*1440 too. Black Friday sales could get this monitor close to your price range.
The reviews are very positive too, plus Dell has great customer support if you need it.
It uses an updated version of the...
Normally the reviews would point to a problem, I am not seeing that on Amazon or New-Egg they look good.
Could be something else going on here. When people get something bad they normally review it.
Well I received a perfect panel, no BLB or dead pixels. The Dell has better colors and panel uniformity than my BenQ XL2720Z.
The screen coating is a bit heavier on the Dell, but it is a keeper for sure.
I used the setting from TFT Central and they seem fine, i will tweak a bit more and...
Well I will test mine tonight it was delivered today.
The review looks pretty good i skimmed through it a bit. Its at least as good as the Asus rog 278 tn model and its already cheaper on amazon.
I just ordered this monitor from Amazon sold by amazon for 666.36 plus i had 30 bucks in points which brought the price down for me to 636.
It will be replacing a BenQ XL2720Z which I really like but I needed another monitor in the house do to my daughters old VA panel starting to show signs...
Sorry if this is a stupid question in advance is it possible to run a XL2720Z at 2560x1440.
I have been thinking about upgrading to the XL2730Z for this reason.
I have been fighting tdr's since i bought my MSI Gaming 980ti.
I knew all along it was driver related i just wanted to let everyone know that the new hot fix driver 3.55.80 resolved the issue for me. I have not had one in a couple of days now. I have been getting at least 1-2 every day...
I don't think this is a Nvidia issue, my wife's laptop had this issue after the upgrade and she has an Intel HD 3000 video card.
What fixed hers was by ME going into event viewer and fixing every error then removing all Lenovo software or updating it to Windows 10 drivers and software.
I...
50% more of nothing equals nothing. You are talking about a MS I am not sure what you obsession is with a MS or 2 either way. If we were talking 15-20 MS that might equal a frame I can understand that and I am with you on that one.
The XL2420Z has no pwm issues and low blue light as it is part of their eye care monitor line, it is also lighting fast I have the 27" version and love it. But it sounds like you found a good monitor.
The BenQ XL2702Z is a great monitor for gaming and general computer work. The color for a TN panel is top notch.
I have two Dell 27" IPS panels at work and honestly the BenQ colors are just about the same to me. Viewing angles are not great but since I sit in front of my PC when using it this...
I have the Samsung S27A950, 27 @120hz and just upgraded to the Benq XL2702Z @144hz.
I am in a room that needed a matte finish but to my surprise this new BenQ has awesome colors much better than the Samsung and is lighting fast with almost zero input lag.
It is a pretty big step up from the...
I said it was about half the price of the rog, My guess is when the rog comes out it could start off more that 800.
Its just a question i wanted to ask the Benq seems like a good alternative if you want a gaming monitor.
I have been waiting for this monitor just like everyone else, is the BenQ Gaming XL2720Z Black 27 worth getting for a little more than half the price of the rog?
So the major grip with a TN panels is color and viewing angles if this is a true 10 bit panel that would mean that the color world be great only viewing angles would be poor, I can live with that since i sit in front of my monitor when using it.
Is this true or will colors still be worse...
Great advice from both of you I really value the opinions of most of the forum members here.
I really do like the monitor I have the colors for a TN panel are very good with the settings I have selected.
The glossy screen is not ideal for the room I am in during the day but at night it is...
Thanks I am leaning in the direction of waiting but once I get the itch to upgrade I have trouble ignoring it. I like the BenQ but the whole firmware issue on that monitor really bugs me and I don't like the way they are handling it.
The Asus Rog G-sync seems very interesting but the price...
I have been thinking of upgrading my Samsung S27A950A to the BenQ XL2720Z. I have grown weary of the glossy screen.
My son is in need of upgrading his monitor so now would be a good time to give him mine and buy myself a new one. Should I wait for the newer G-sync or will the new BenQ fit the...
