Vista WMC W/ My Movies, and PowerDVD9
When I play a movie from my hard drive everyones speech sounds really echoey. If I play the same movie in powerDVD from my desktop, everything is fine.
What gives???
Yeah, when I burned them I named the file after the movie. Then when I open up xbmc, I have the library set up to automatically scan new files. I would think by now someone could come up with a program that would take the file name and look up all the info/album art/etc. without having to do...
OK, I'm up and running, partly. Here's my problem. I ripped a bunch of my DVD's, probably 20 or so, to my hard drive. I opened xmbc(or any other front end for that matter) and updated to library. 2/3's of the films come out with the tittle as "video kings" with no other information. WTF...
The sounds card will be directly hooked up to my Emotiva LPA-1 amp, and then to my speakers. (yes I have the audio system to support it) ;) It doesn't have a HDMI hook up or anything like that. I don't really think it is a waste....?!?!?! The TV will be connected through a HDMI, 50" Samsung...
Yeah, I ordered some Arctic Silver #5 (I think that's what it's called), and did some reading on the application of it. Everything came from New Egg if that helps. Parts are arriving today so I wanted to get a jump on it tonight. If I have to stop on the way home I would rather do that. Are...

What about getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136033 for my OS and programs, would this be enough room? The speed factor would be great. What about the noise level?
Been thinking about my HTPC build and this is what's up. I have on order (1) WD 1TB Caviar Black Drive (that I was going to use for my OS, programs, pics, and music) and (1) WD 1TB Caviar Green Drive (that I was planning on using for all my video files.
I got thinking and did some more...
..just a thought..
Don't know what else you have hooked into your receiver, but you can always go the route of tossing it all together (maybe even selling it) and getting a kicka$$ amp. That's what I did. Found an Emotiva LPA-1, used, for a great deal and you wouldn't believe the difference.
OK, to be honest this whole budget was hinging on the price I would pay for an amp. I just got one, and got it for a really good price(about 1/2 retail), so this is where I stand now(upgrading my case big time).....
