This article, although using a i7-2600K instead of an i5-2500K, answered my question.
TLDR : " Our Conclusion : What does this mean for you if you're a Core i7-2600K owner? Currently, probably not a lot. If you're running a graphics card that's equal to or slower than the GTX 1070, you don't...
It's going to be a subjective decision anyways.
Since I'm G-syncing (for the first time), I'll have to test wether adaptive sync is enough of a compromise vs high refresh rate gaming.
I think in low-fps games like Rpg's it will be OK.
But in high-fps games like Fps's, it may tip me over to...
I'm setting a 120 fps cap as recommended in TFT-Central's review, so my fps-aim would be 60-120 I guess (depending on game type, e.g. Rpg vs Fps).
CSGO won't be a prob, I may even get along in BF1 and QChampions with some tweaking. Have to wait and see.
I'm so used to high fps/refresh gaming for...
Thanks for the tips&tests.
I will start by detecting 100% loads when I get the screen next week, and then work my way down to eliminate any (serious) bottlenecks (and good luck on finding yours too!).
I'll have to upgrade anyways, but maybe I'll be fine for now on the games I'm currently...
Dear [H]ard folks,
Ok, that sounded weird, but let's continue anyway.
I'm upgrading my monitor from an Asus VE278E (27"-1080p-144Hz) to the LG 32GK850G-B (32"-1440p-165Hz).
I assume my CPU (and RAM) are going to bottleneck the 1070?
These are my specs :
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8G
Intel...
First off, sorry if my OP was not clear, I meant to ask if HDR would work on a FreeSync2 monitor and a Nvidia-card.
But it's not really needed anymore as I've decided on a G-sync monitor (the LG 32GK850G-B ;)
Cheerios,
Joseph
Hi,
I read the following in a recent Techspot article:
"If you have an Nvidia GPU, FreeSync 2 monitors will work, and you will get most of the benefits including support for HDR."
Is this information correct?
I thought an AMD-card was a requirement.
And if it does work, are there any...
We will have a full evaluation on this game to look at performance and image quality in the future. It will explain what each graphics option does and how these affect performance
From the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Video Card GPU Review
sweet.
i'm not complaining about performance issues, it runs just fine for the moment.
i just like their guides cause they go so deep into every single setting and do their proper research.
patience is a virtue ;)
dude i've told you enough times the sound is great, no distortion at all.
if you know things better without even having the hardware yourself,
i don't see any more reason to give further advice
no, it works perfectly,
both on the Corsair K70 as on the included SBZ volume controller
the amp doesnt change the sound no.
if it´s too loud and distorted all you have to do is turn down the volume bro :)
yes, the SBZ amp is very strong but all you have to do to counter that is set your sound level low in windows.
i have it at about 25% most of the time and then use the included SBZ volume switch (or via my K70 keyboard) to increase/decrease ingame volume.
imo, it´s better to have a too strong...
Initially, I bought the SBZx and coupled it with the X1.
I liked the sound signature of the X1, very cinematic both for games and movies.
But in the end returned them to go back to a Sennheiser, namely the HD 598.
The 598s are more comfortable in my opinion and i like their sound signature a...
The 598s are a pair of great sounding and comfortable headphones so i wouldn't wanna make a step down.
Cable sleeving looks like the way to go :-)
Thanks guys.
Hi people,
I've owned the 598 for a week or two now and bought a separate mic to go with it.
I'm very satisfied with the sound for both gaming and movies, only the separate mic cable is bothering me.
So i was thinking of buying the 360 as it has a built-in mic.
My question is if the sound...
Received the 598s and tested them for a day.
First thing i noticed is the build quality; definitely a notch down from the HD-580s but still OK.
Soundwise, i love them.
The sound signature for games, movies and music for me personnally is very balanced and cinematic.
Bass very clear, no...
I did, and i searched but didn't find any for a reasonable price.
Moreover, the only problem i had over the years with my 580s was with the cable.
The sound would disappear altogether from one ear and only some fiddling would bring it back.
I don't like that system and the 600s/650s use the...
Hello people,
Untill very recently I used to own a pair of Sennheiser HD-580 Precision headphones.
But now, after almost a decade of amazing performance, they died (bless them).
Too expensive to repair and just plain worn out.
So I recently upgraded my gaming pc and simultaneously...
Since the SBZ was 78€ and the SBZx only 100€ via Creative´s online European store, i went for the SBZx since i like the extension module (a quick search coudn´t reproduce the issues mentioned with the ACM).
Philips Fiddelio X1 ordered here in Belgium for 219€, much cheaper...
I´ve done quite some research on the headphones and the X1s look ideal for my purposes.
It remains a subjective decision of course.
Can always return them if i´m not content.
As for the soundcard, i´v changed my preference from Asus to the SBZ.
Reasons besides the better (positional) audio ...
Hey reaper,
Did read your post and appreciate your input, thanks again.
Just wanted to see if there are more people to confirm.
I´m still in the dark on Impedance though
Cheers,
Joseph
Thanks on the heads-up, have a few more questions.
- Impedance :
The Fidelio has 30 Ohm.
The DGX´s headphone amp is optimized for 32-150 Ohm.
The SBZ´s can go up to 600 Ohm.
How do all these numbers relate to each other?
In other words, what is Impedance and how much does my soundcard need...
Hi people,
I´m on the verge of a pc-upgrade.
As gaming sound and music is very important to me, headphones and soundcard will also be replaced.
My decade-old Sennheisers HD 580s are literally falling apart (bless them) and i had enough (driver) problems with my Soundblaster Audigy Gamer...
Hey guys,
Subject sums it up.
After reading enough hype about the Asus soundcards and tired of some driver problems with my Audigy, i wonder if an upgrade is justified?
In other words, will i hear a noticeable, improved difference in games?
I´m an FPS gamer primarily, no movies and seldom...
hi, all solved, thanks!
the cable of the 120hz lcd was connected to the single-dvi link of the vga card and the 60hz lcd was connected to the dual-dvi link.
after i switched the cables, i could select up to 120hz refresh rates in the game, before only 60hz.
strange because there is no mention of...
Hi all,
I recently bought a Asus VG236H 120Hz LCD screen and am content with it but confused at the same time.
With my 60hz LCD i like to turn on vsync to have a constant 60fps without tearing.
Now with the 120hz screen if i turn on vsync the fps cap is still 60.
I thought logically it...
Hi people,
I'm on the verge of an upgrade and need your help :D
I already ordered a Asus VG236HE 23" 1920x1080 120Hz 2ms LCD since i'm mostly an FPS gamer.
What i still want to order next week :
Intel Core i3-2120 3,3 Ghz
Asus P8Z68-V LX Mainboard
2x4 GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance...
Thanks for all the info people.
My PSU now is 4 years and 5 months so i guess it might become a matter of trial and error.
How does one measure how much Watts a PSU is pulling at any given moment, is there some kind of program?
I'll be glad as it is if the PSU will pull the GTX260, never...
Hi guys,
I recently did some researching about a new videocard.
My PSU is a 485Watt Enermax EG495AX-VE(W) (24P) with only one 6-pin power connector.
In the end i chose the GTS250 instead of the GTX260 because the 260 needs two 6-pin power connectors and a minimum 500Watts PSU while the 250...
i agree, for people on a budget (like me :D, the 7750/7850 are great buys
that might change soon though as prices on the new Phenoms drop but for now you can't go wrong for that price
any one already have any overclock data on the new Phenoms?
Thanks for the additional info.
But now i already have the 7850+BE and the 940 is beyond my current budget.
Good tip for the future though :-)
Greetz,
SC
Thanks for the info & the advice.
Those new Phenom cpu's look hot.
Unfortunately my Asus M2A-VM Socket AM2 mainboard will not accept these new Phenoms.
Anyone knows if there exists some thing like a Socket AM2 to Socket AM3 adapter?
Hi Folks,
On the verge of a CPU upgrade at the moment and need some advice.
Wanna perform a small system upgrade because i recently purchased a 22" LCD and wanna play as many games as possible on native 1680x1050.
The problem is i can't choose between the CPU's in the title.
On one hand...
