I got my 70p yesterday and have been watching/testing it off and on and when i bypassed my receiver and hooked directly up to the tv i was able to do 1080@120hz and 2160@60hz all on a cheap $12.00 hdmi 1.4 25ft cable with 2 670's. I cant try out my new redmere cable because its a little too...
Well I have some 18gbps redmere cables i recently purchased from Monoprice so I will try them out when I get my 980's whenever amazon decides to ship my cards out. I just ordered the 70 P Vizio from Best Buy online with the 10% off coupon code and delivery is scheduled for this Saturday unless...
Probably the Gigabyte G1 gaming according to this review.

The MSI gaming oc is worth taking a look at as well.
I havent had a lot of time to observe mine because I got it this past Saturday but it seems on average it idles around 50-52C at 35% fan speed on auto with 12.3 drivers. The GPU clock is 500mhz and memory is 1450mhz according to GPU-Z at idle. I have two monitors connected. It varies a little...
Thanks for reviewing this card, I was strongly considering buying this card after doing research yesterday on which 7970 OC's the best, and it seems like this is the 7970 to get. I was going to wait it out for the 680 4GB card but at the rate the 680's stock is at retailers, who knows when I'll...
I bought x4 WD Blacks last month for a total of 256.46. At the time I was looking to spend around 250.00 and I was either looking for SSD or the old spinners like I bought that got around 400MB/sec read and writes and had good I/O numbers as well. The only other thing I could find at the time...
Whats a good price for a q9550? Somewhere under 200 like 170-180ish? Ive been thinking about buying one but the cheapest Ive seen from newegg is 200 after the hardocp coupon if newegg has it at 210 which its now back to 220. I would get one from microcenter but the nearest one is almost 5 hours...
Have you tried the "turn off hard disk after.." setting in power options>advanced settings menu? The only other thing I can think of atm is if the drive is external hooked up via usb you can eject it and turn it off that way.
No prob, I used to have 2 raid 0 74gb raptors and they were very fast in a raid 0 config with a 20gb partition just for the os. The rest of the drives wasnt as fast though since they are such old drives.
If I had 2 of those drives, I would raid 0 them and short stroke them to 20gb for the os(vista/7) and whatever sized partitions you need for various stuff, games, storage, etc..
By dividing the drive up and organizing it with partitions like you would with folders on your desktop, you can get...
Most newer hard drives are at least that fast at the beginning of the drive, so thats something to consider. Also another thing is future mechanical drives will have even faster speeds at the beginning of the drive. Ive seen 140MB/sec for the new Samsung drives.
I got 3 640 WD blacks in the same box, they were wrapped good in bubble wrap and lots of peanuts. Mine came all the way from CA (I live in NC) so I guess I was lucky that they were ok(so far).
I was about to say no one has mentioned hard drives yet until Digital Viper did. I have my game installed on a couple 500g drives in raid 0 at the fastest part of the drives and it really loads everything fast. Thats one of they key things to wow being smooth and not pausing a lot is having it...
I just upgraded my video card as well to a BFG OC+ which is the 675mhz version. I must say WoW runs a lot better now with the settings maxed (I dont have view distance maxed because I feel thats not needed for the performance hit it gives you) vs my 8600gt. If you turn the vsync off itle allow...
Take a look here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2009/01/19/his-radeon-hd-4870-1gb-iceq4-turbo/3 the tests were done on an x58 mobo but that shouldnt matter much when compared to a similar x48 mobo system.
One of the reviews I was talking about is here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2009/01/23/sapphire-ati-radeon-hd-4850-x2-2gb/3
Notice on the test page that they are the same clocks. This was with the 8.xx drivers, Id like to see these same cards with the newest drivers but I guess...
Ive seen some benchmarks where two 4870 1gb cards got slightly higher fps than a 4870x2 2gb. I didnt pay attention to the clock rates on the cards but other than that, would two cards be better than a x2?
Interesting, thanks for that link. I hope ATI has a 1GB standard edition and not just an OC version for the 4890. I guess I will wait to see how the temps are on these new cards and the noise, hopefuly if sapphire releases a card on the new gpu they will learn from their previous cards.
Ive been reading reviews and comparisons for days on ati vs nvidia. I was thinking about upgrading my whole system to i7 but I think atm that is too costly for me plus Asus seems to be having some problems with their x58 mobos with esata still.
So based on what ive seen and read over the...
