Thanks for the input, guys.
AdwareCleaner, didn't do it. In the process of getting the Malwarebytes.
@bigdogchris, no, not that, but completely new popup add windows the size of ~3"X3" with "Adds by Crime Watch" at the bottom of the add.
Also, at the same time these Crime Watch adds starts...
Hi, Folks,
After installing the latest Cool Timer, I began to see popups adds by Crime Watch every so often, and gets annoying, not to mention bogging down unnecessarily. Anyone here encounter Crime Watch before, and how would I go about ridding it off my PC?
Here are what I've done so...
Hagrid,
Thanks for the input. I had just the one drive.
System specs:
Gigabite GA-X58A-OC mother board,
12GB Mushkin Enhanced RAM sticks,
i7 930 CPU,
GTX260 GF,
1TB Seagate HDD.
Enermax Evolution 85+ 1020W PSU
Thank you everyone for helping out.
Update:
Reformatted the hdd, turned off PC, unplug power, cleared CMOS, removed battery from MB, changed boot order to CD/DVD, attempted to re-install windows 7 for 64bit, but met with "Bootmgr is missing" error.
What else can I do? This is so...
Hi,
I have 3 sticks of RAM, 4GB each into a Gigabite GA-X58A-OC mother board running windows 7 ultimate 32bit, but only 3.50GB appear as "usable", not the whole 12GB, why is this so? What can I do to get access to the rest of RAM?
Thanks in advance,
Yes, I really like the MX-1 enclosure. Too bad they don't make them any more. Do you know of one equivalent to it that is currently being made and supports drives larger than 2TB/
So, I guess even the 64bit Windows won't provide a work around or make a difference then?
Thanks, bbenz33 and Old Hippie,
Good point, bbenz33. Though I should've have paid closer attention to that, I previously installed larger drives in advertised support capacity; so I automatically assumed this one would be the same. Maybe not the case.
Now placing the hd back into original...
Hello,
I recently purchased the 3TB Seagate External USB 3.0 drive from Staples. Took the hdd out, put in an Antec MX-1 external enclosure, was asked to format drive, went ahead with request, but options in formating windows only show 1 for 349G "capacity". This doesn't sound right. So...
Thank you everyone, for helping out.
Got to the "Next..." step above, but still only show "746.39GB Unallocated", I might have missed something, but I can see what it is. Now, when right click, I don't even see "Format" option anymore. What else can I do?
How would I go about finding the drive manager, I've found the "device manager" but not "drive manager".
I've gone to this page but not sure which utility to use: http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/
I've downloaded and installed the Seatool from...
Thanks for this how-to instruction.
Got mine out, put in an Antec MX-1 external enclosure, asked to format drive, went ahead with request, but options in formating windows only show 1 for 349G "capacity". This doesn't sound right. What did yours show? Did you used it as an internal or...
Folks, for those who are on top of these great devices, what's your take on the upcoming ASUS memo pad and Samsung Galaxy Note?

I want one that would allow additional storage...
Folks,
Those of you who have your TP now, if you would to buy another TP again, would you do it now or wait for the next updated version? If not mistaken, read somewhere that there is a new updated version coming up, is that true? Where you do you guys go to stay current on what's expected in...
Buy.com has one: http://www.buy.com/prod/221150373.html
Would this work? Trying to look for the price match option now, is it obvious some where?
Update: didn't see option for price match in cart, am I looking in the wrong place?
Can one do price match online? Or does it have to be in store? If in store, then how would one pull off the $25 off coupon?
I am tempted to get one of these.
Thanks
mZimm, sfsuphysics, and anonuser, thank you very much for your inputs.
My laptop drive gave up on me and in need of a drive asap. I missed out on a SSD sales last week, don't remember the exact size, but larger than the 128GB.

Wondering for those of you who are from the US, where did you get your TP? If you haven't got yours yet, would you wait till the ICS-loaded out of the box comes along? Been wanting to get one of these, and would greatly appreciate all and...
Thank you, OrangeWolf and JaguarSKX, for your invaluable inputs as well. A nearby Costco has the Lenovo, so hopefully I could stop by to play with it and buy if I like it. I, too, have been a long time fan of Lenovo, just not with the newer ones like the one here.
I will be using it mostly...
Thanks, /rant/, for this invaluable input. I will be mostly using it for crunching numbers.
Now Costso is selling the one below, which is $120 more than the one at Staples. Is it worth the price difference...

It's detected, just reported as raw drive. Tried to format it in Windows, but can't.
When try to boot using your link above, do I need it as a single drive in the PC?
Dang! Why didn't I know this earlier. Just missed the warranty date. Oh well, a very expensive lesson indeed. Could have a running drive if only.....Thanks any way.
Edit: Is there any way I can format a "raw" drive, which is what my pc reports this drive in.
Very interesting situation you've found. last year I was given the famous Target sold WD 2TB external drive. Within three months, the thing died. I am some 200 miles away from Target so decided to take the darn thing out, hooked it up both in a Thermaltake BlacX and as an internal drive, but...
Aah hah...BB. Good for you! Thanks for the heads up on it being offer again during BB BF.
The fact that you are entertaining the idea of picking up another one, are you OK with the heat issue people are facing/experiencing? How do you plan on using yours?
Thank you for the info and heads up on the situation.
By the way, did you also get your 3TB from Costco? and how do you feel about one of the user's comment at CNET's view?
"Pros: Large capacity.
Cons: Heat implies inefficiency and short life.
Summary: Why does the CNET reviewer rank this...
I am not in desperate to take them apart, just looking for possibilities. Some people at Costco's users reviews mentioned disabling the included Seagate's software so they can just use it as a large thump drive, what are your thoughts?
Aaah...that's nice! Thanks!
I am actually waiting for the GigaByte GA-X58A OC which was posted by SonDa5 here, and will be needing some extra internal drives for video editing, that's why my curiosity in taking this external drive apart. Quality/Durability wise, would you recommend me doing...
Base on CNET's Editor's rating, I should congrate you. How do you feel?
How difficult is the cracking process of the enclosure? If memory serve me right, someone at Costco was saying, after cracking enclosure, he/she continue to use the enclosure as an adaptor for other bare drive, is this...
