Edit: TRADED
I've got an i7-2600K that I need to swap out for a CPU with vt-d, which are only non-k chips. If you've got a 2600, I can do a straight trade. If you've got something better, like a 3770, I can add money on top
It's been running solid since I got it, no OC (Why did I even get the...
Basically, I need some help being told what's best, because I know what I'm doing now isn't so great
Here are my current specs:
Case: Norco RPC-4224
Motherboard: X8DTH-6F (LSI 2008 SAS controller)
CPU: Intel Xeon L5630 (Single CPU setup)
RAM: Crucial CT3KIT51272BB1339 (12GB kit (4GBx3)...
I've got 8 individual drives that I need backed up 1:1 to another set of 8 drives in a virtual machine. What's the best way of doing so?
I was thinking setting up 2 virtual machines, one with direct access to the main 8 drives which get used often, and the second as something to boot up and...
Or would it be left angled SFF-8087 cables?
I've got a Supermicro X8DTH-6F, and I need some 90 (or 180) degree cables because the onboard SAS controllers are pretty close to the case's fan wall. However, the only ones I can find all have the angle going the wrong direction, which puts the...
The UD7 has the NF200 chip, enabling Tri SLI. The P8Z68 Deluxe does not have said chip. No comparison
I wish it did have an NF200, because then I'd buy it. Having it in on only an EATX board is limiting your market. I mean what does the Maximus IV Extreme-Z have on it that requires a board of...
I am picking up a Z68 board, and it will be Asus mainly for the Intel Ethernet and actual UEFI over Gigabyte's classic BIOS
My only issue with your Z68 lineup is your high end board, the Maximus IV Extreme-Z, isn't out yet, and is (I'm assuming) EATX. I want a Tri-SLI board (for Battlefield...
What's with the internet smear campaign against Z68? We get it, you don't like it. No need to keep going on and on, spreading into other topics, and now other forums
Z68 is slightly better than P67, and it only costs slightly more. That's it. That's how products work. They add features for...
It seems like the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7 and the Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z will be the only boards with an NF200 chip. I'm assuming the Asus will be E-ATX as well, which blows, because it won't fit into my R3, which means Gigabyte is the only way to go with their old school BIOS :(
I really like the G500
I picked it up about a month ago, coming from a Gen 1 G5. I love how the mouse wheel can change between click mode, and free spinning. I leave it in click mode for gaming, but honestly, I find myself using free spinning when browsing the web. It helps breeze through...
My controller has two SFF-8087 ports, and my case has 24 HDD lots. There'd be no problem putting one of the ports straight to a backplane, and the other to a RES2SV240, and then 5 SFF-8087 cables from there to populate the rest of the backplanes, would there?

I added a Best Buy Gift Card. Don't really do much in-store shopping, so it's been sitting in my wallet. I'll get a balance receipt for anyone interested
Bump
I updated everything with some sort of product link, and I added a few photos. I'll take some more when I get more time to pull the rest of the equipment
