I dont think the sideport will do anything for the 4870X2. As it stand now, ATI engineers have enabled it in there lab and have found no performance increase at all. A interview with AMD's Eric Demers can be found here. He talks about sideport in a few of the questions in the interview.

It really depends on what game he's playing. i've seen games like X3 Terran Conflict, rely almost only on the CPU when a respectible GPU is present. A 4850 and a 280GTX perform the game at the same FPS with the same CPU. Other games are coded to rely on the GPU Mostly. (which is most games)...

Yep that was it.. but it also had a VGA connection also. My GTX 280 came with the DVI to HDMI Adapter so it was perfect for me. Plus it has 2 inputs so you dont have to worry about switching cables all the time when you want to play your 360 on it
