Funny how they brought this to light. I just sent in an RMA for my SS-X1250 M1 series power supply for the second time. The first one was running tri-fire'd 290X's and Tri-Sli'ed GTX670's before it started to shut down unexpectedly. Now I have a Vega 64 LC with the second unit that is dropping...
Since I noticed one of my old Vue videos on the news headlines on HardOCP I thought I would update what's been going on with my system now. I have retired Vue as I went through 2 bottles already and while it didn't give me problems like many others (besides the limited usage) I decided not to go...
While I agree, I'm still flattered my video went up with this story. At first I thought it was a bad link or something. Thanks anyway and appreciated. Shame I don't use Primochill Vue anymore.
While Kyle would miss out on the day one review sweet spot, it's not like it's his only way of revenue unlike other sites. There are many other newsworthy reporting to read in the meantime. Plus unlike other review sites, there are usually follow up's to the initial review (SLi testing, etc)...
They didn't exactly contact him to see if he wanted to continue their business relationship soon after the story broke either. The cutoff was Kyle's words, not mine. Kyle had to reach out to them and Nvidia knows they needs all the press to push their new product. That's the only reason why...
While I agree with you on the NDA, Nvidia still cut Kyle off after the whole GPP story broke even though he had every right to report it. So what's the point of a NDA if even you legally stay inside the boundaries that are required Nvidia will still blacklist you. That's why I voted No.
While I know you would be unbiased in your review whether you are under Nvidia's NDA. I have to worry if another story breaks about Nvidia doing something stupid you will be essentially bound and gagged with them. I don't think it's worth it as you'll be just like the others under the NDA. Yes...
I can watch videos while I refurbish laptops, but I always have someone coming in and asking me questions or the phone rings. Don't need the drone of Jensen telling everyone what they need while someone talks to me.
I watched the stream from work but had the volume on low to keep from being distracted. I was wondering when Jensen introduced the pricing, did they have the "I can afford that!" girl present?
While that maybe true, even the very first Titan GPU (and Z) had SLI bridge connectors and some of these cards Nvidia stated they were not for gaming (even though later models pretty much were). It's just good to see that Nvidia is finally serious with this Titan V as a compute gpu.
I agree...
LOL only if I liked Slayer and not get a copyright strike on my video :)
Sorry, had to make a revision to the video and setup. I didn't like some of the LED setup in my case. Either it was too dark or just placed wrong. And yes it still has weird loop music lol :p
My Powder Red and Power Blue UV (for a buddy) Primochill Vue is being shipped on Monday so I should be able to get mine in the system by the end of the week. I thought about going with Crimson Red, but reading that the reds go darker after time I wanted to get the lightest colour to start with...
That's why I gave up on Eyefinity and Surround years ago as it was just a headache to work. I missed it at first, but after using an ultrawide monitor presently I don't even think about it anymore. Ultrawide still has some games that don't support it, but it's nowhere near the issues of surround...
Great that you have a working card again. Sucks that you didn't win the silicon lottery like your older card, but at least it has the epoxy this time. See if you can push the HBM to 1100 or 1105 which seems to be the ceiling.
That's great man! At least you were able to send it in for a replacement. Maybe you'll get lucky this time and get one die with the epoxy between the ram and GPU.
That really sucks I'm sorry to hear man. You could try to RMA it with XFX since they allow the OEM cooler to be removed. Yes, it became damaged, but I'm sure they get many returns from miners and you didn't kill it by mining or overclocking. It was damaged by AMD's manufacture not putting epoxy...
Yes mine is epoxied and it was a Gigabyte card. I was worried I would have the non-epoxied one as it would be trickier.
You didn't happen to have any other type of Thermal paste like MX-4 did you? I haven't used the EK stuff as I don't know who the supplier is for EK and whether is it...
I'm using the high power AIO bios and I have mine set to 1732 as the highest P state. I can't go any higher. And I have the Ram set to 1105.
JustReason - Thanks for the voltage tip. I didn't think about turning off auto. I'll see if it makes any difference.
That goes for many owners. It may be lesser of a performance card than a 1080Ti, but I'm having fun tweaking and finding the sweet spot for my card. I guess you could say Vega is great for tweakers unlike the 1080 is already maxed out from the start and not much tweaking can be done.
That's the way the clocks work with Vega. It tends to jump all over the place as that's how it's designed. Something like Nvidia and their clocks where it will bounce as well.
As AMDmatt from another forum stated "Clock fluctutation is a feature of ACG = Advanced Clock Generator, which is...
I'm getting a max of 37C when running valley benchmark for 30 mins. This is with a triple and quad rad setup that is pumped into another room. Others I have read that have either a dual or triple rad get about 40 - 46C. It really likes to be water cooled.
No, I leave the voltages at default...
So I decided to flash my Air card to an AIO bios to see if I can get better results now that my Vega 64 is cooled by the EK waterblock now. I'm hoping I can hit the speeds (1750Mhz) that the AIO Vega has and the power values. Yes power consumption is insane, but I really don't care. It's about...
So I went to bed last night not happy with the result of my LED backlight as it wasn't as bright as I would like as I'm only using three 3mm so I decided to work on Revision 2 this morning while I wait for my package with my accessories to install on the motherboard to arrive today.
I took a...
