Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
It would certainly explain why some m4s/c300s are giving way lower 4k results than others.
It's possible that as-ssd is pretty cpu intensive on some tests and it might only be using 1 core like most programs do so the extra core clock helps a lot in those situations.
c300 is faster in benchmarks and real life unless you're looking for purely sequential reads/writes.
That being said the m4 is a better value since it's quite a bit cheaper.
Here my 64GB c300 which is almost completely full.
I've seen a wide range of 4k results for the new m4 ssds however the result I found on overclock.net below doesn't look too far off from a c300.
Why not get an xeon cpu it's not like they cost much starting at $210...

Some boards will not work properly with hardware raid controllers.
If you want to be on the safe side stick with a server board like Tyan or Supermicro both make 1155 socket boards at reasonable prices.
RHEL6 kernel probably has it backported in just like they do with many other things.
It would still be a good idea to compile the latest source code driver however or at least take a look at the one they provided.
Few more things to check are you running the latest firmware? Also, check to...
AS-SSD shows your firmware version.
I've updated some ssds in the past without issue however I've also seen plenty of people get screwed over from them so always best to keep a back-up of important data.
Personally, I would most likely skip Supermicro and go with the Tyan S5510GM3NR because it provides a 3rd intel nic that can actually be used for something other than a useless dedicated ipmi nic.
I've also had a much better experience with Tyan boards.
You could always compile your own kernel from source not sure why you wouldn't really using a high performance card like an 1880 a 2.6.18 kernel is going to kill that performance...
Seems I'm not alone in this.
I've been reading reviews at different stores and such and found at least two dozen users who have reported the exact same issue.
Disappointing since I would like to purchase another c300.
Overall best ssd right now is the c300.
However, if you were to compare several good ssds I honestly doubt you would even notice much if any difference between them in real world situations.
The 9650SE is a horrible card upgrading to an areca 1880 would be a huge difference.
I don't recommend lsi or 3ware based on previous bad experiences with them in terms of reliability and performance they are by far the worst I have dealt with.
Anyone else notice high pitched noises from their c300 ssd?
Mine has a constant high pitched noise and it intensifies during any sort of usage for example booting.
Time to rma I guess. :(
Not complaining about their roc it's their actual raid cards I stay away from.
I've had nothing but problems with their older cards in 24/7 environments failing cards, failing arrays, horrible management features and just endless problems.
That might be hard for some people to appreciate...
I was referring to ftpes not sftp.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FTPS#Explicit
Also, @OP I would try using a different ftp server since that seems to be the most likely thing would also try using a different ftp client as well.
While there shouldn't be a difference in speed between them...
