Which 980 Ti for Corsair Obsidian 250D case?

Do you use watercooling for your CPU? How are the temps inside the case?

Which 980 Ti for Corsair Obsidian 250D case?

Right now I'm using a stock 780 Ti in my 250D itx case which I'm thinking of replacing with a 980ti. The problem is, should I go stock again (blower design) or go the custom pcb route? Are there any custom 980 Tis which fit in this case? Also, will a custom cooler increase my case's ambient...

    980 Ti

Why is everyone hating on the reference design? It looks good, keeps temps at a reasonable level and is relatively quiet. Plus, for mini ITX builds, the blower style cooler remains the best solution.

Where is the Intel M.2 pcie SSD?

I've heard good things about the Predator. However, it seems its more expensive than the Samsung SM951 AHCI version, which is supposedly the best all round M.2 drive on the market. I went ahead and ordered a 256GB SM951 AHCI for my i7 NUC, I hope it doesn't get too hot in the small enclosure.

Where is the Intel M.2 pcie SSD?

It seems that all of Intel's current M.2 offerings are SATA only. Searching around online yielded no results regarding upcoming models. I would think that Intel, following the release of the behemoth that is the 750, would have announced plans for an M.2 Pcie drive, seeing as these are...

    [H]ard Sff Club

I have always used huge cases for my builds. For the past 10 years or so, I'd been using a CM Stacker 810 (the original) for my main rig. Last year, I got hold of a Coolermaster Elite 130 from a friend, and I thought, 'why don't I build an itx system!'. Fast forward a couple of months...

    Haswell-E/x99 coming September confirmed

Because back then the memory controller was part of the northbridge, so it was up to the motherboard manufacturers to add ddr2 &/or ddr3 support. Haswell-E, like all Core CPUs since Nehalem, has an IMC.

Intel Devil's Canyon: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly @ [H]

I went from an i7 920 (ran at 3,8GHz at stock voltage since 2009, incredible chip!) to a 4771 and despite believing there would be negligible differences in everyday usage scenarios, even on trivial tasks the Haswell feels much, much faster.

Intel Devil's Canyon: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly @ [H]

6 degrees difference at load doesn't sound that great at first, but considering the stock voltage the 4790k runs at I'd say the new TIM works quite well. However we need more detailed temp testing.

Intel Devil's Canyon Core Processor Presentation @ [H]

My concern is temps, temps, temps. First reviews are saying the 4970k runs around 10 degrees hotter than the 4770k. I would very much like to throw a 4970k in my Z87 mini-ITX build (now that Asus has confirmed DC support for the Maximus line) but I'm running on air and things are borderline as...

    Corsair AX1200/860/760i question

A question for those of you who have the 1200i/860i/760i PSU. Can you set the fan to be on all the time via Corsair's Link software, i.e. override zero-RPM mode etc.?

Coolermaster Geminii M4 in an Elite 130 case

I'm just worried because before the 4771 I had a 4570 for a couple of days and it 'only' hit 76-78 degrees with the same stress tests. Must be the HT of the i7 making things more toasty. I'm aware of delidding, however since this is a non K cpu which isn't gonna be overclocked, I think I'll...

Coolermaster Geminii M4 in an Elite 130 case

So I've been tinkering with my new mini-ITX build with an i7 4771. Love the Elite 130 case, however I get insane temps with the Geminii M4 cooler. To give you an idea, with the case closed I get perfect idle temps of around room temperature (~26-27 degrees). However after 10 or so minutes of...

I7 950 Time for an upgrade?

What is your Haswell idle temp?

I recently built a mini-ITX Z87 system with a 4471 i7. Obviously I'm running everything in stock (CPU multi is locked) yet the temps are discouraging. Granted, its a small case (CM Elite 130) and the cooler is slightly better than stock (CM Geminii M4 low profile), but.. still. I get around...

Recommend me a PSU around 500W for use in a mini-ITX build

Hello everyone. I came into possession of a Coolermaster Elite 130 case recently and I've decided to build a small HTPC that will, at a later time, be upgraded to gaming/steambox status via a graphics card update. I'm having trouble deciding upon which PSU to get. This case holds even...

Intel i7-920 x58 vs Haswell @1080p and above - Still no urgency to upgrade?

Intel really needs to speed up their enthusiast timetable. IB-E is going to be released in September and Haswell-E next year, along with the X99 chipset. So right now, the 'enthusiast' platform has an outdated chipset (X79 - only 2 sata3 ports) and is always one step behind the latest...

Which 7950 has two DVI ports and reference style cooler?

I currently own two 26" monitors with only have DVI inputs. I'm planning on moving from 2x5870 crossfire (reference design) to 2x7950 crossfire on an Asus P6T Deluxe V2. There are two PCI slots between the x16 PCI-Express slots. With the 5870s I have a little less than 3cm of empty space...

    Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X height question

So I'm thinking of moving from my current 2x5870 CF to 2x7950 CF. My mobo is a trusty Asus P6T Deluxe V2. There are 2 PCI slots between the PCI-E slots. Right now there is slightly less than 3cm of space between the two 5870s. My question is, will the thicker Vapor-X cards fit...

    Samsung 830 - 2x256GB vs single 512GB

So I've finally decided upon getting the Samsung 830 for my main rig (currently running 2x150GB Velociraptors in RAID 0). I need around 300-400GB of storage for OS, games etc. The price difference between 2x256 drives and a single 512gb drive is 50 euros. Is the single drive worth this...

Another 'help me choose an SSD' thread - but slightly narrowed down...

You 're right, however a PCI-E based SSD would be ideal for my needs. Up until now the only affordable bootable PCI-E SSD was the RevoDrive. An Intel option changes things, in a good way... I'll have to think this through.

Another 'help me choose an SSD' thread - but slightly narrowed down...

Aaargh. Now that I've finally settled on the 510 and I'm ready to place an order, I come upon Intel's 2011 SSD roadmap. Apparently the 520 is set for release in a few months, along with a new PCI-E SSD line! I've always thought that a RevoDrive-style implementation with Intel's reliability...

True, there are some great deals out there, however the past year and a half has been a 'no upgrade' period for me. Plus, I've been really happy with my Velociraptor RAID 0. But now I have the money to spend on 2 SSDs and I'm itching for an upgrade, so... :) I'm liking the 510 more and more...

Here's the link: http://communities.intel.com/thread/22227?tstart=0 Obviously its not a widespread problem but some users have all had the same experience (drive showing up as only 8mb during POST). I've decided I'm gonna go with two 250gig 510s or 2 300gig 320s if I find them a lot...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I have heard a lot of Sandforce horror stories.. And also a lot of good things about Intel's SSDs. The Crucial m4 uses the same Marvell controller as the 510 but I've read bad things about its garbage collection. Right now I'm between the 320 and 510...

So I'm thinking of jumping into the SSD bandwagon. I've been on Raptor and Velociraptor RAID 0s for the past few years, and I've been very satisfied with them. However, SSDs they are not. I have an X58 board but when LGA2011 comes out I'm gonna upgrade. So with that in mind, I think I'm...

    Best 30" monitor - 2010 edition!

    Best 30" monitor - 2010 edition!

Hello all, I am looking for the best 30" monitor I can get with a maximum of 1500 euros. So far my list consists of the Dell 3008WFP & HP's LP3065 which are both priced at around 1250 euros. Monitor use: gaming, photoshop, movies. I currently have 2x26" LG W2600BH (IPS panels), and I...

    Question about the IP35 Pro + E0 Q9650...

Yes, most can, however Abit shut down operations before the E0 were out, hence Abit IP35 Pro owners have to rely on a beta BIOS that works for some, and doesn't for others... So I'm looking into the matter... I have a 1.1 revision IP35 Pro. Any fellow IP35 Pro owners, have you had success with...

My 30" Nightmare!! Please help me choose a quality 24+"

Indeed the larger monitors suffer from various problems, mostly color/backlight uniformity. Keep in mind though that large (26"+) LG S-IPS panels are supposed to move slightly when you press on the panel (when you 're cleaning it for example), they have this tolerance to account for expansion...

    NEC 2690 uneven backlight

Owners of the 2690, can you post some shots of their monitor a solid grey background? I have 2 LGs which use the exact same panel and I seem to have a problem with slight color shift across the screen on both (one is almost unnoticeable, on the 2nd its more pronounced)

Wide Gamut CCFLs and color uniformity

I was just wondering if its common for large WCG monitor to display a slight 'color shift' across the screen. I have 2 S-IPS WCG monitors and I've seen a few others and almost all of them displayed that up to a degree - meaning that one part of the screen is 'warmer' and one 'colder' in white...

    New LG W2600HP 26" S-IPS

I went by a friend's place today and I checked out his 26" Samsung 2693HM monitor. It had a horrible backlight gradient from top to bottom, the difference was noticeable everywhere, even in text when browsing, the top half of the screen is much darker than the lower half. It kinda made me...
