Wow ATI SUX! (that was sarcasm) They can't even do a GPU rename right! They screwed it up by actually changing the Specs.
You must have become a PC Gaming Enthusiast recently. I followed a similar pattern in September 2005. I bought a second hand e-machine with Integrated Graphics & an Athlon +2700. Then I got an AGP ATI 9600 GT & 2GB's of DDR1 400GHZ RAM. By the end of that year I had a AMD x64 +3800 x2 CPU...
In this year I have Upgraded a fair amount. This is what I started out with on January 1st, 2008:
MoBo: P5N-E Sli
Graphics: 8800 GTX
PSU: 650 Watt True Power Trio
Case: Crappy POS
Around the end of March, I started getting excited about the refresh GPU's (eg. 3870x2 & 9800Gx2).
After...
I would just like to say, that these 8.9s' Impressed me & made me truely believe in R700s' power, once and for all. I've always liked ATI better for their image quality and inovation. Now because of their achievements in performance.
I just hope the next set of drivers does fix that FPS drop...
I was on the first level DX9 Very High Hack 1680 x 1050 w 4X AA, 8X AF in Crysis64.exe. Remember to Turn Off Depth Of Field & Software Edge AA. I used Fraps to get framerate readings of 30+ FPS. Even in Recovery @ 4X Adaptive AA the FPS are still around 30 FPS & barely dipping under that. One...
Ok, that didn't take very long. Now I'm get 35 to 45 FPS in Live Gameplay. We need another 4870 X2 owner to confirm this. I myself am just Astounded by the performance of this Card. I think these drivers will go down in history as one of the greatest performance increases through software. Wow...
I don't know why anyone cares about DX10 in this game everything that is done in DirectX 10, can be done in DX9. All you have to do is alter the Cvars, then select DX9 when you Right Click on Crysis in the Games Menu.
I Sh!t you not. After downloading the newest Catalyst Driver (8.9) I Tweaked the Cvars for Very High settings in DX9 on Vista 64-bit. With a Resolution of 1680 X 1050 & 8X Anisotropic Filtering I'm getting silky-smooth framerates . All I deactivated was the Software Edge Anti-Aliasing &...
Put Me Up There Please! :D
I just edited the Config files on Crysis to Very High setings in Vista64's DirectX9.c path & I'm getting 25 To 50 FPS and the FPS aren't Jumping up and down like in XP.
This Kicks Major Ass!
As far as I know there are going to be some impressive Direct X10 features in this game. I might need to go out and get Vista x64 to see all the Eye Candy/Crack!
Dude, Please overclock your CPU! Your rig must be sooo slooowww. Oh, and the answer to your question is "Get A 1000 Watt PSU. It will garranteed run 2x GTX 260's. It should also save you money in the long run!"
Hi, I should be getting my brand new card, from EVGA, in a weeks time. I was wondering, how much it might be worth to someone? The reason I ask is that the buyer, most likely, won't be receiving a warrantee with it. I suppose I could offer my own warrentee, by allowing them to ship there broken...
It shouldn't effect anyone with Vista 32-bit. There is a hack to use up to 64GB of RAM, but it is not for novices or people with short attention spans. Here is a Link : http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/how-to-enable-use-and-support-4gb-or-more-physical-ram-memory-in-32-bit-windows-vista/

For those of you asking what you would do with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM... It will likely only be 1GB per core. I may have been wrong about the shared memory thing, but I was right about GPU-Z recognizing 1GB on the card!
Hurray! The only thing in the way of me getting this card is gone!
I declare...
Don't laugh when I say this, but I get a good portion of my info from Fudzilla.com . Most of the editors are Clueless Tools, but Faud Abazovic has delivered consistantly correct info about RV770 before many others!
I first heard that RV770 would have 800 shaders way before anyone else. So...
Dude, this Shared Memory thing isn't over yet, at least not until the NDA is lifted. So the fact that GDDR5 can be hooked up in that manner only confirms that the Memory will be Shared. It just won't need a new Controller to do so.
For you people with bad vision, here's another GPU-Z screen from a different site: http://www.hardspell.com/pic/article/2008/6/20/9a0fa58f-829a-4ad1-bf0f-f4d50afa4637.jpg
So either the R700 has 2 x 1GB of GDDR5 (one for each GPU) or the GPU's share 1GB with each-other.:p
I suppose that...
Here you are! This is a picture of GPU-Z on a 9800 GX2. Just Click on the link: http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-4560-view-geforce-9800-gx2-extreme-overclock.html
As you can see, the 9800 gx2 only shows 512 MB of RAM onboard in GPU-Z. This means that the memory is cloned, 512 MB for each GPU.
I was recently looking over an artical at techPowerUp.com, when I saw a sceenshot of GPU-Z as proof of an amazing number achieved in 3D Mark Vantage. The artical was about Two 4870 X2s getting a score of X12515. GPU-Z reported the VRAM as being 1GB. I have looked at screens of 3870 X2s in GPU-Z...
