I use DP only (mac) and have not had any issues except for the lack of color saturation (but I think its due to my profile)
Am used to wide gamut from my HP 2475 so I find the colors a little washed out.
Anyone has a good calibrated profile. Feel lazy to go buy a colorimeter and do the...
Can vouch for the quality of the Auria. No BLB no dead pixels. Also has DP so I didnt waste 100 on my miniDP to duallink cable!!!
With a 100 buck cable, the Catleaps dont look cheap. If I were to use it with my desktop only, its a super buy!
I just got mine from Microcenter - $399 + tax + $17 shipping (our local Santa Clara just closed shop!)
Havent done any detailed tests on it but its gorgeous. The seamless displayport connection with my macs is worth the extra I paid over a ebay Korean monitor. I kept going back and forth...
Ordered this from MC. Their Santa Clara store closed recently so had to spend another 17 bucks for shipping. Hope I get a decent panel :)
Anyone connected a Mac via Displayport
Hmmm but the PCbank comes with only dual link DVI while this is multi input. 300 vs 400 .... for 100 extra its not too bad if one gets without dead pixels.
If thats the case, why do the prices vary so much .... 290 to 400 for non pixel perfect non scaler monitors?
For example I could buy a Potalion for 300 from Bcc or an Achieva from AW for 340 .... are they equivalent? BCC says unto 15 dead pixels and AW says unto 3 .... thats what made me think...
Thanks! Anecdotally who provides better panels with less backlight bleed and less uniformity. AW claims their panels are A1 grade while say BCC claims A- .... trying to figure out if A1 is better than A- :)
From google translate it seems they were happy with the monitor. Is this a better buy than a Potalion version (bcc sells a perfect pixel of this for cheap)
Should I pixel perfect monitors to ensure I can safely buy the 3yr square trade warranty? Ideally I would like to have the square trade warranty on these..... I see even the non pixel perfect monitors come with optional square trade coverage. I wonder if squaretrade will really cover. Anyone has...
Trying to decide between a lite Achieva and a Potalion (from bigclothcraft) with pixel perfect Potalion for 340. Which one is better? I will use it with 1) macbook pro 2) linux desktop with nvidia GT520 card
Thanks ... very informative. Now which ebay sellers are good. I see people who inspect and who give zero pixel guarantee for extra (latter being more than the former). Are people buying sealed, or getting inspected or doing pixel guarantee ..... and from which sellers
Am trying to decide between Potalion, Crossover or Achieva. There are way too many options. Then there are the sellers! No clue who are good etc.
I have a linux desktop with dual link and a mac so I guess I will need a mini display to dual link cable for all of these variants.
bump ...
I understand that this forum is more about extracting the max juice out of systems but would appreciate if anyone shares their experiences they had to optimize for idle power
I have a Gigabyte Z68 m-atx board and my idle power is 50W with a 80 plus PSU without a discrete card. In comparison I know a H61 motherboard from MSI + 2500 sips 25W with the same PSU ... MSI has power saving stuff in the the bios.
Is there a way to reduce the idle power. I guess the H61...
Hmm I purchased the GB from Frys (they pricematched!) .... let me know if this problem is not solved. MSI seems to be good and has a OC genie button etc but the GB is like 30-40 cheaper, hence I picked the GB
Want to pair one of the following with a 2600k - GB Z68MA-D2H vs MSI Z68MA-ED55
Requirements:
* will use for simulations that are not graphics intensive
* will use integrated graphics
* might want to overclock occasionally to speed things up
Which of the above boards is a better buy...
Could you please change the title to reflect return of Intel branded boards. I was about to post the exact same question when I noticed your thread. I am sure many of us have Intel boards and might be in the same boat. FYI I bought mine from Amazon.
On a diff note, hows the mini itx board from...
What is Amazon's policy. I recently bought a Dh67BL and I have yet to open it up ... wondering what their policy is. Are they going to exchange or refund when the new revisions are out.
Anyway I have a DH67BL board now but I am wondering whether I should open it and use the SATA 6G ports or ask amazon to refund me and wait for the fixed chip .... or maybe the Z68 will be out by then :) options!
Hmmm .... then I wonder why the cheap H67 boards from GB, Asus and even vendors like Biostar/Asrock have all solid caps .... thats what led me to wonder. I just want something stable 24/7 for 2-3 yrs :)
I am looking at a Intel DH67BL m-atx mobo for my i5-2600k. Do these boards last as long as gigabyte for example. I am not going to overclock etc but will run the system 24/7. I typically buy gigabyte but I see that the Intel boards have a lower idle power consumption.
Am a little concerned...
I am thinking of using hte DH67BL but I am concerned by the lack of solid state caps. My use case is a 24/7 server like machine that will idle 60% time and I need 4 RAM slots. I know that these Intel mobos have the lowest idle power and some reviews prefer the intel mobos. FWIW: For 20 bucks...
While you may have a point, if you are into low power systems that run 24/7, you might gain by going from a 1366 to 1155 .... unless of course you need >16GB RAM, in which case you have little choice till 2011 :)
For some, the most important metric is performance per watt
I wonder what is a good multiplier to use with a stock cooler and a i5-2500k .... on a UD3 mobo and a decent psu. Say I dont want to use a fancy cooler and I stick to the stock one from Intel. Can I push the chip at 4Ghz over long periods?
I run Linux and AMD drivers are generations behind :) Else I would have probably gone for AMD. GT 430 is 6W idle which is ok for my uses.
The rest of the system is identical except for the graphics stuff. Also check this article on efficiency...
