I neglected to label my M-Audio Audio Buddy, Red Sox Coaster, HALO Mega Bloks, Bottle of TUMS, toothpicks and the Windows Home server hidden behind my busted Koolance case. Building a new desk so once it is done hopefully it wont be as messy, though probably as random.
It is a straight swap. I handed them my old board (Which I got for $99 on sale at the same time as my processor and it is $110 now after rebate) and got the new board. I just "bought" it through the site so I could go to customer service and they would have it waiting for me. I didn't pay a...
I saw on their site last week that you just "buy" a replacement board for 18 minute pick up and bring your old board and receipt. When I went to pick it up the girl was confused until I explained about the series 6 chipset and then she said "Oh, the recall!" so mentioning that may save you some...
I bought a Gigabyte P67-UD3 board, i5-2500k and 4 gigs of inexpensive crucial RAM from Microcenter and even after tax it came out $60 or $70 cheaper than the exact same parts from Newegg, not counting their shipping.
Hemming and hawing about holding out for this (which I am a little short of funds for) or going with the AMD 1055T. I live 5 minutes from Microcenter so both are deals. Either way I gotta upgrade this x2 4600 I've been riding for a few years now.
I think the arcade trade is a good deal just because of the recent Target deal and the inevitable CL flood of arcades. You might do better selling the wirless adapter and harddrive on CL.
I rather hear nothing and be pleasantly surprised when it does ship rather than hype and empty promises. That is the stark difference between Ep. 3 and DNF or any other vaporware. There haven't been a bunch of teaser screenshots and promised features that have never materialized. Yes, they are...
If I could get away with that at work I would do it in a heartbeat.
@FrEaKy - I love Ye Olde Hercules Sound Card Break-Out Box. I had one a million years ago and ended up putting it in a build for my brother. Had always hoped they would give Creative a run for their money. And the cable to...
I read the (flawed) review over on arstechnica and ran out and bought it for the PS3 before all of this stff came to light. That in mind I played it for about 45 minutes this afternoon and enjoyed it. It seems a little re-hashy of the first film but it is still fun. It's possible that if you...
I only have the one player and this way I don't need to worry about future compatability. And really, as much as I loved my hddvd player (a Toshiba A-3) the player really is a piece of crap, especially compared to my PS3 for bluray. It takes over a minute to boot (or maybe just under a minute...
I'm also going to get hosed on the Matrix but You can still get the 10 year anniversary edition of the first one if you send that in. This works out for me as I have that Harry Potter set and about 6 others and was wondering if I was going to fold and rebuy as bluray or just wait for my HDDVD...
I would post this in hot deals but I am under 50 posts. If you go to red2blu.com you can get Bluray copies of your Warner Brothers HD-DVD's for $5 plus shipping and you only have to send in the label from your movie (you get to keep the disk). If you only have one or two it may not be worth it...
@Tyler
While there is a good chance that being only 18 you may get denied but just because you didn't get instantly approved doesn't mean you are out of luck. I applied for this back in October when it was $100 off. I applied online and got the same thing. 3 weeks later I got the card in the...
It just doesn't make sense to me to mod a case you essentially don't like the look of. If all you are going to do is stealth the cdrom drive and then cut holes and put windows in it, paint it and make it a Floyd Laser show with cold cathodes inside you might as well mod a shoe box. If you paint...
Just my opinion: this mod is coolest if you leave the case etc as in-tact as possible. Adding windows and airbrushing it makes it just another case mod. I like the idea of a slot drive with the original 5.25" bezels. I wouldn't think hacking the original keyboard would be too hard.
