THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU!! GREAT AND SUPER COMPLETE ANSWERS!! THIS SITE IS AMAZINGLY HELPFUL!!
To answer your questions, the editing will be for broadcast TV and possibly some movie work. Im in public affairs and work hand-in-hand with some television stations (mostly PBS) and documentary...
Thank you for that honest input. It is much appreciated. :D
I am trying to work around a small budget. I wanted to get two BenQ FP241VW as they are good but inexpensive and use the TV that I already have as apparently MVA/PVA panels have a gamma shift when you move your head.
However...
One of the Awesome guys on HF suggested that I can continue to use my TV to check the color/image of the video Im editing. This way I wouldnt need to spend huge money on the highest quality LCDs or on a big CRT.
However, my TV is a $90 color Tube television (Zenith?) that I bought back in...
Great Find!!! That one seems perfect! Other suggesstions are always welcome but that one seems spot on!
Also, it's good to know about networking a USB-only drive. I hadn't thought of that!
THANKS! :D
Great! But would my $90 color Tube television (Zenith?) that I bought back in 2003 work ok or does it have to be fancy.
Incidently, why do LCDs have such fickle color...they seem so state of the art.
Hello! :)
Ive been searching for a solution for months! Maybe you can help?
I need a Networkable hard drive that I can have on my network and then unplug and take to off-site locations and to plug directly into different computers through through their USB ports. Is there a way to...
Would using a Television in addition to two basic LCD monitors due the job of a CRT forr checking color? :) I used to use one next to me for that purpose many years ago.
Is there a way to connect a NAS hard drive directly to a computer? It would be far preferable to me to connect it to the computers USB port with an Ethernet-USB adapter for the times when Im on the road and there isnt a network to put it on. However, maybe they can connect naturally to each...
Thanks for all those suggestions!! :D I think Ill expand my price range up to about $650.00 a piece, more or less, to include the better panels.
Do you think the BenQ FP241VW can handle video editing well? I am not a gamer and most of what I do is documentary video, music videos, and...
Hello Again,
Do you know what type of panel the BenQ FP241VW is?
Im leaning towards that one but its frustrating because the BenQ FP241W seems to be maybe a better(?) product from everything Ive read. However, the only ones I could find are from NCIX.com and they are...
Thanks as always!! This more than helps and your patience in explaining all these things is greatly appreciated!
I think that, given that this is an investment for the future and for professional use, I should broaden my budget to VA. It seems silly to get something that won't satisfy for...
I'm looking at you LCD specs link...COOL! What number do you suggest that I put in the response time...5?
Also, given that I like color, do you think 1000:1 Contrast and 400 Brightness will work well?
Finally, if I may ask, does VA under TFT-Type refer to a 6bit TN panel?
Thank you again!
WOW!! You guys are the best!!
I would be primarily Remotely Accessing Photos and Words Documents and even then only in the rare situation that I need something. It's mostly for accessing when I'm at home so I can have a common HD that's accessable from any computer on my home network...
WOW!! Thank you for such a thoughtful and quick response!!
I can best answer by saying what I like as I'm not even sure what I should have in a Video Editing monitor. I Love Color and so Color Gamut, Brightness, and Contrast seem the most important. I really enjoy getting into the...
