I have a spare box with an X58 mobo and 2 ATI 6970's, all water-cooled with a Swiftech 3x120 radiator. Currently, they're in a Cooler Master 840 ATCS case. There's nothing wrong with the case, but I'd like something smaller so I'm looking for a case that would fit that radiator inside.
The...
I'm not a [H]ard overclocker but I have 2 separate i7 920 boxes which I've water cooled for silence. In my primary machine, the 920 shares a Swiftech 3x120 rad with 2 sli'd gtx280's. The second 920 shares a Swiftech 2x120 rad with a gtx 285. I have monthly LAN's with long sessions and have...
Fans for the radiator? Make sure you have enough barbs for your radiator, pump, radiator and water blocks. Lastly, I'd check to see if you need something to cool the ram on your video card. I use that Swiftech block to cool my 2 gtx 280's and I have a backplate for the ram. I have no idea if...
Thanks a lot for the replies!
After looking at dozens of cooling setups on 4 or 5 different sites, I finally came across some photos of someone who'd just run a single loop between the two Swiftech's. I think if I can keep the loop short enough w/o kinking, everything'll work out.
I'm in the process of ordering the parts for my first water cooling build. I have 2 GTX 280's that I'll be cooling with Swiftech MCW60 Rev. 2 blocks. What is the best way to run the tubing between the two blocks? I've thought about 1 90 degree fitting between each card with a straight piece...
I came across this modded CM ATCS. I like this mod because I'm on the verge of getting a boreas system. I have no dremel experience and I'm curious if there are any shops online or in So Cal that could possibly do a similar, or less elaborate (and less expensive) mod for me.
Thanks.
Next week, I'll probably start putting together a Core I7 system. My current system includes an Auzentech Prelude and an Astro A40 headset/mixamp combo.
For my next system, will I really be losing much if I use the A40 combo with on-board sound (through an optical connection) instead of a...
Thanks for the help, y'all. RMA'ing it tomorrow. I ditched the Gambino Family Special Edition Concrete Case 'cause it was murder taking it to LAN parties...
I've been using an MSI 260 gtx core 216 card for about a week now. When I'm surfing the web or playing music, the fan spins at 40%. At idle it is much louder than another non-MSI 260 gtx card I have in a nearly identical box. When I load a game, almost immediately the fan revs up to 100%, and...
It just turns itself off. No shutdown screen, no blue screen. When I start it back up, it works fine - until I load another game. When I get home today, I'll try my old 9800gtx and a 512mb 4870 card. If those work fine, then I'll try a new power supply.
Thanks again
My new box is shutting down shortly after loading a video game - and no, my wife has not been tinkering with the box...
I can surf, do non-intensive stuff and leave it on for hours, but when I try to game, it turns itself off. I'm suspecting it may be a power supply, but it's less than a...
I agree with NWN; it played fine on our 5 and 6 year old laptops and will work online. My wife and I played it and the first expansion together. She enjoyed it much more than WoW. I'll probably pick up a couple copies of NWN2 from the bargain bin next month.
Thanks for the fast responses. I've spent the past few days looking for a 20" IPS monitor that'll do portrait mode. Since I need 2 monitors, I was hoping for something cheaper than the $800+ NEC, but it seems that my only other option may be to take my chances with the lottery for the Dell...
I'm looking for a 20-22" monitor for work. I'll be working exclusively with grayscale images, not too high of quality. I know that imaging professionals with LCD's tend toward IPS monitors, but will I benefit from IPS over PVA if I'm not working with color?
Thanks.
