Yes i knew it. I asked this question sometime ago and the person said that there was NO irritating noise sound at all with BenQ FP241W but this monitor seems to suffer from the same problem as the LG L246W (LG L245WP-BN).
And it probably has the creaking/cracking sound also but some people i...
ok what i wanted to know was if 50hz mode worked ok in 1920x1200 on dvi/hdmi because it does not work well on the LG. I will not be using the component output.
Does the HDMI connection work without any overscan? So that it displays 1920x1200 in 1:1 pixelmode.
Because i have a long 4meter...
How is the benq when it comes to noise ? Does it have any noise when it is on ? Please listen carefully maybe it is not so noticable when the computer is on ?
The LG L245WP-BN had problems with this it had a cracking/creaking sound about every 5-10 minutes even when it was off.
It's very...
Anyone here who has issues with the LG that it has this cracking/creaking sound which is especially noticable when the monitor is turned of ?
This happens about every 5-10 minutes even when the power cord is not plugged in.
It's seems pretty strange though that this also happens when it is...
Sounds great since the included icm profile is not working correctly in photoshop it says that it is damaged and if i try to use it anyway to colours get tinted brown when there should be gradient that is from black to white.
Have anyone managed to get the screen working correctly in...
This monitor seems to have a serious problem when going into 50hz mode if it is exactly 50.000hz in Powerstrip it get's no vsynch and there is tearing when watching 25fps material and when using for example 50.062hz it just drops frames.
Anyone here got a solution to this problem so i can get...
ok then it's a revision 1 monitor they are known to have problems. Mine had a very annoying sound when brightness was from 0 to 99 it was a rev1 monitor manufactured in May 2007.
I returned it and have now found a swedish store that guarantees a rev2 monitor based on the first three numbers...

What graphics card do you have ?
I returned it and have now found a swedish store that guarantees a rev2 monitor...
Outside of every box there is a serialnumber mine started with 705 so i am guessing that this means the year 2007 and May as manufacturing date. This is very handy because if this is true you don't even have to open the box to know if it is a rev1 or rev2 monitor.
EDIT:Can those who can check...
Yeah i know it really sucks i ordered from a swedish company called Dustin and everyone was raving at a swedish forum about them getting Revision 2 screens from that company and ofcourse i end up with a May 2007 rev1 screen it truly sucks so i have sent it back now and am ordering from another...
Ok will be great to know how your next LG will sound. I also have a very silent room because i have the computer in another room. So it's very noticable.
It's pretty loud and annoying but i guess that if u have a computer in the same room that makes alot of noise u might not hear it as well as i do. Because i have the computer in another room and use a long cable instead so i don't have to hear the noise from the computer.
They are the same. L245WP is the name used in Europe and L246WP is used in US and maybe other countries too.
Watchout for getting a revision 1 screen they have an annoying buzzing sound in everything except 100% brightness. They are made before June 2007.
Finally got the LG screen and ofcourse i got a revision 1 screen made in May 2007 that has a very annoying buzz sound when brightness is not 100% in all of the different srgb, csm, user, 6500k and 9300k modes.. Just amazing other people got revision 2 screens and i get a crappy revision 1 screen.
Yeah i don't think u can return it to LG for a firmware upgrade but it's worth a try i guess. The screen is called LG L245WP in Europe so thats probably why but they are identical though.
Are you happy about how the screen interpolates lower resolutions like 1680x1050 ?
Yeah thats an older revision V 1.7 it should be. U seem to get the service menu thing working atleast.
I think that many stores still have the older revision left of this monitor.
Could you see on the back of the monitor what the manufacture date was or was it on the box ?
Majed was the one who originally wrote how to get to the service menu. That was the source i used but i heard from a friend that maybe it also worked with the monitor already on.
This is how it looks with old and new firmware: The old is first.
Model L245WP 06/11/12 V 1.440

Nvram Initial OFF
ADC Calib -RGB 0
ADC Calib -COMP To Start

ok from what i've gathered the new revision LGs were manufactured after in June 2007 or after.
Have you pushed the menu and down buttons at the same time ?
What manufacturing date does the screen have ? And is it using the latest firmware 1.7 ?
I think u could check firmware by pressing menu + down button while the monitor is on or holding menu + down downpressed while u push the power button.
Yes that is one of the screens with an older revision. The best thing is to ask for one made in June/July or after. The Firmware version should be 1.7 or later.
I have finally ordered an LG L245WP-BN screen (LG L246WP in USA).
I have heard some reports that the monitor has a buzzing/humming sound when using SRGB brightness values that is lower then 100.
I have also heard that some screens suffer from horrendous flickering and that there is no way...
Yes this is also what i fear the most with the LG L245WP-BN screen that i have ordered will have a brightness that is too high even on the lowest SRGB brightness setting and that my eyes will hurt alot because of it. On my 17" Hitachi TFT i have to turn brightness on the screen down to 0 and...
