On the wasteland survival guide quest is it possible to complete the quest without killing a mirelurk? I know it must be or it wouldn't be an option but I can't seem to avoid the critters and I have a sneak of 60.
Is speech worth tagging? If I was going to play a charmer what would be the min charisma that I would need?
small arms
speech

I know I'm late to the party but I'm finally going to start playing fallout 3. I want my character to be a smooth talking sniper so I'm going with small arms and speech. What else should I tag? Repair? Sneak?
Would these be good stats for a sniper type character?

My Hannspree died and I'm looking to buy a new monitor. Preferably from a local retailer. Reviews on Samsung seem to be generally positive and these three models fit what I'm looking for.
This will be primarily for gaming. Any advice appreciated.
The one that stands out is the new LED...
Yeah, some reviews have mentioned poor color out of the box but I'm set on getting a mid sized monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution and there just aren't that many available.

I like the 1920 x 1200 resolution. I like the size. I like that I can buy it locally, and I like the price, so I'm hoping anyone that uses this model for gaming can comment on their experience with it.
Hannspree 25"
Cost $250.00
Less than three months out of warranty.
Symptom. The monitor keeps going into sleep mode. If I turn it back on it shuts down again within 2-4 minutes
Is it worth repairing or should I just toss it? I obviously don't want to pour a lot of cash into a fairly...

EVGA has a solid customer support rep around here don't they?
Some have better reviews than others but I'm not sure how much weight to put into that.
I have an account with newegg so I'd prefer to order from them with amazon being my second choice...
As a general rule, is it better to buy a video card locally, so it will be easier to return? I can purchase a 5770 at microcenter for 200 or mail order a 5770 for 30 to 40 less. That's a huge premium to pay just to save some time if the card is a lemon.
I need a video card for gaming. The rig will not have any type of exotic cooling. The rig will only have one video card. My budget is around 200 dollars.
Such as this one?

This will be for a game machine, i7, single video card, not over clocked.
PS. Anything other feature besides auto voltage regulation that I should need my ups to have?
Thanks

I'm prepared to spend the money, if that's what it takes to get a reliable board, but it just seems odd to be spending more on the board than on the CPU.
Thank you for the suggestion.
This CPU won't be over clocked and will probably never have dual video cards. I just need a reliable MB that won't break the bank. The system is for gaming.
Thank you.
All I care about is reliability. Burn speed is not important to me.
Is this a good one? I selected it, because I recognize the brand and it got solid reviews.

This will be a gaming rig. My favorite types of games are FPS and MMO. I'd prefer to keep the price below 200 dollars. My monitor is 25", but I might upgrade to a larger size in the near future. I am content with medium settings.
But is the TX good enough? I think the most I'll push this system will be a possible CPU upgrade next year to the i9 and maybe multiple hard drives. The ram question is up in the air - four G for now, but I might go higher (with win 7) if the gaming need is there.
Thanks to everyone that has...
Here's a 750 watt that is silver certified for only a little more than the 850 watt that isn't certified.

This could be marketing speak so I'm going to ask here. Over at Newegg, there's a corsair that is advertised as silver certified, and Newegg has a notice that says that silver certification is recommended for the i7. Now, I was looking at another corsair that isn't silver certified, but is the...
Frys has a Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q8400 & MSI P45 NEO2-FR Motherboard for 149 dollars. That's a pretty sweet deal if you're looking to build a medium end game rig, yes?
