No. you don't have to keep them linked. Most people always have them unlinked so they can adjust the shader clock to their liking :)

Go all the way with SLI 285 or 280 or dont upgrade. GTX 295 is not worth the money. Even 2 260 216's beat it.

Some boards need lots of voltage to get pass a OC wall Try giving it 1.4~1.46 voltage. Don't worry as long as the temps dont go past 83c load you will be fine You are on water so you shouldn't worry about that

Bump. Can someone try and help me get past 4.0ghz? 4.0ghz is rock solid but i can't get past it Settings are 1.306 voltage 20x200 1.46 vtt 1.140 ioh 1.6 ddr x6 ram multi x36 qpi x13 uncore Even with 1.4+ voltage I can't seem to post :(

Not really. A 4870x2 gets higher points in 3dmark06 then a GTX 295, yet the 295 gets better fps in games.

Got it back to 4.0ghz with 1.35 voltage. Temps are around 79c-83c orthos load though. It won't hurt the CPU with these temps right? because I don't think i'll be using 100% cpu usage when playing games...

PC won't even boot at 4.0ghz now. So confusing. Currently i'm at 3.9ghz 71 orthos load.

Ok well, 3.8ghz @ 1.2 vcore is around 70c load. 4.0ghz @ 1.3vcore is around 81. is that a decent temp still? I'm not sure why, but I keep on getting BSOD's @ 4.0ghz when i'm using a lower vcore

What about the P6T Deluxe? Dosen't the 16+2 phase power over the P6T's 6+2 help alot when you're ocing past 4.0ghz?

Well the batch I got is apparently a good clocker :) So I just need a MoBo that won't hold me back from a good OC.. Hopefully I can get 4.2 with the P6T or Deluxe V2, not sure if i'm going to return it still..

D0 is the new batch and they run alot cooler then the C0's.... :confused: Kind of like the B3 Q6600 vs G0 Q6600.

At what speed do you think the board will hit a wall on the P6T Vanilla? It would be cool to get 4.3~4.4ghz on air since it seems my chip can do it.
