I dont know if this switch forces you to use genuine cisco parts. You could do some research. Up to you an your budget if it can use third party. If you feel comfortable with what the above comment said then feel free to stack them. I didnt read the doc (sorry its 300 pages) but was just...
The cable part number you listed is a twin ax style. It has the SFP and cable molded together (on both ends). Very common in lieu of using optics when switches are a short distance from eachother. Looks like its 10Gb capable, I would be surprised if the SFP interfaces on the switch you mentioned...

But the bracket that comes with the motherboard has a smaller connector. It looks like this ...
So my roommates laptop screen is broken. Not a huge deal but I need to get into the BIOS. The OS is also broken, locks up right after windows loads.
This is my dilemma. I have an external display for the laptop with a broken screen (vga). But the darn thing will not output to the external...
This looks like a promising design.
I have a Vantec external USB2.0 enclosure (for IDE) that I really like.
I wonder if they could make a hybrid one of these for both SATA and IDE, I know the market for IDE is dead but for the tech guy recovering people's data (on old PCs) IDE would be...
My main question is how do I get HD programming to get to my HTPC.
I know that it usually has some type of protection on it, but it may depend on the carrier (I have brighthouse). I am wondering if I can pickup all the HD stuff from the raw coax or if I need to connect the HTPC to some type...
Well the speaker system consists of Front R/L Input, Rear L/R Input, and Center/Sub Input, so the converter you suggested would only utilize one of the 3 inputs the speakers have. I would rather have a solution that can fully utilize the speaker system.
Thanks for the suggestion non the less.
I am looking into buying a pchdtv 5500 and I was wondering how the HD recording / viewing differs from normal cable feeds. I heard that sometimes the signal is encoded and that my cable box is the only way to decode that signal. Then I somehow hook my HTPC into the cable box to receive the feed...
So the PVR software will detect which input the signal is coming into the computer on, or do you manually have to configure it to use specifically the Svideo, Composite or Tuner?
I have a set of Klipsch Promedia 5.1's sitting around collecting dust because I just use headphones while on the computer.
I want to hook these up to a console Xbox/GC. Someone mentioned a Creative product DDTS-100? Seems hard to find / phased out. What else is out there to help me hook these...
Budget $2000.
1. Need HDTV support, will drive 50" plasma. Also need standard NTSC
(analog) TV support. Sound to be driven via typical home theater AMP, basic 5.1
2. DVR ability 2 tuner cards for picture in picture and double recording
3. larger desktop cases, something that looks home...
I have a dell that I am working on that is no longer under service contract. It has a bad memory module, Nanya brand. Nanya's website says I have to go through dell to get replacements. Anyone have experience with Nanya/Dell about memory on a system no longer under warranty? Memory is lifetime...
Dell is the best price for performace.
Dell offers more than IBM for the price. Dell's assessories are fairly priced and easy to find even for legacy products. I have a few beefs with IBM other than price reasons. They don't seem to offer the wide range of hardware available, usually top of...
Working on a IBM thinkpad for a co-worker (T22 to be specific ... Pentium3 based).
The darn thing's bios is passworded and from what I've read can only be fixed if you remove the bios chip in question and resolder in a new one, no thanks.
But I can still pull the data off the hard drive...
Voodoo TV PCI card and Vantec Fanbus back on the block.
On a side note the card doesn't come with an application to play the tv feed, just the driver cd. I also am not sure if it works on anything other than Win98 (it might) but that is the only OS I've used it under.
Items FOR SALE ONLY...
Yes it will run a P3 system aslong it is a standard ATX mobo (ie not some Dell or other OEM standard). You are correct the main power connector is a 20 pin connector (the new ones are 24).
