I did this fine on XP Pro a few years ago but Win7 permissions have me a little baffled now.
I'm trying to set permissions on a folder so that certain user accounts can have full control within the folder but cant delete the folder itself. So for example, "user1" who is in the "users" group...
Same here. I havent thought and wont be thinking of upgrading my graphics card for a long while (I only bought my 4870 a few months ago). My next upgrade will be cpu+mb+ram when I can afford it.
It's fair to say that defrag isn't a magic cure for a slow PC, but it can help a little bit.
I usually defrag once a month in XP (I leave Vista to it), or immediatley after installing/uninstalling a large program (typically games at home).

Installed SP1 on Ultimate x32 yesterday. No problems so far. Did it through Windows Update so it only had to download about 70MB and then install. Took about 90mins, including download time (which seemed to be really slow, maybe just congestion if everyone was doing it at the same time)...
Thanks Cyant. 4x sounds a lot more reasonable that 1x!! I dont know too much about PCI-Express, but I'm a little (pleasantly) surprised that the performance drop is only around 5%
I've got a ASRock 775Dual-VSTA with a 6400 C2D. I recently bought a BFG8800GTS 320MB OC. It works great although I do get a few slow downs in the odd game (some outdoor scenes in FEAR for example, still have to try STALKER).
If I recall correctly, the PCI-Express slot on my board only works...
Thanks msny, I'll give that a go over the weekend. I was trying to resolve the problem on XP machines at work, and havent tried to plug it back in at home, so that still has a working configuration on it.
I just screwed up my Zen Xtra by trying to upgrade the firmware so i could install it on Vista. Now I have a dead player. Every time I turn it on it says "Firmware Error" and its not detected properly in WinXP so I cant run the firmware upgrade again to see if that would solve the problem. :(...
