Newegg RMA Technicians Are Breaking My Returns

This whole bent pin thing is strange to me. It does smell fishy because I don't think I've ever bent pins on a board or CPU in over 30 years of building PCs. There are so many pins today that it is a hazard if you are all thumbs, but I can't believe so many that are returning motherboards are...

I will NEVER purchase another MSI product again, here's why.

After reading the OP's rant I'm thinking I should have been more upset about my Asus Striker Extreme dieing after less than a year (circa 2007). The lesson I learned was don't buy bleeding edge. It isn't really needed, worth the risk, or worth the hassle. 3.5 years? You got a good ride out...

    Two sepreate loops overkill?

The real value in Zalman are the large aluminium passive radiators. You can always use an external pump if the one in the unit goes bad. I've water cooled 4 or 5 systems over the past 7 years. I've used seperate parts building water cooled systems and finally ended up buying zalman units because...

Anyone else have bad luck with BFG RMA?

If you save the old pads, putting the thermal grease back the way they ship it is a matter of slopping a huge amount on the processor, assuming you got the right color, they won't know. I was surprised how much I had to clean off when I put a waterblock on.

    Striker Extreme Works Great!

I put together a water cooled Stiker Extreme and never have had a bit of trouble with it. After reading all of the troubles people have had on this forum and others, I was expecting the worst. As it turned out the system works flawlessly at the BIOS defualts for everything. I'm running ram rated...

    Best MB for C2D E6600 and 8800GTS/X

I believe it refers to the memory speed being linked to the FSB speed.

P5N32-E SLI Woes. Vista Freezing Gah.

I'd be suspicious of the memory, memory voltage or the power supply stability. A total lockup sounds like a hardware problem of some kind unless you find some common thread like a repetitive driver error in the system event log that preceeds the lockup.

    Heatsink/heatpipe removal

What's the best way to remove the heatpipe/heatsink assembly off of a motherboard without damaging anything? The assembly looks like it is glued to the chipsets/voltage regulators, there doesn't appear to be any bolts holding it in place. The motherboard is a Striker Extreme.

    Dan_D, What are your settings?

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 EPS12v PSU Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 4MB L2 LGA775 ASUS Striker Extreme Motherboard (nForce 680i chipset) 2x1GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC Edition I have the exact same parts, how did you set the voltages for the RAM? Any problems with this watercooling?

    best 680i board...

This is too vague, what does "broke" mean? These are the kinds of comments I see on Newegg and other sites all the time. Chances are it isn't broken unless you fried the board, and you usually know when you've done that at the exact moment it happens. So what sort of trouble did the board give...

    Perplexed over 680i

What are those Corsair Dominator modules you have rated at? I was looking at getting some PC8500 (1066Mhz), but I've heard of people having problems with RAM if the specs are too high. Normally I'd go high to be sure I had quality RAM, in this case, people are acting like going high end caused...

    Perplexed over 680i

I've been researching/shopping around and reading reviews of several 680i motherboards. I'm most interested in the MSI P6N Diamond nForce 680i because it looks like it's loaded with features and it has that X-Fi built in. However, past experience has taught me plenty of lessons about buying...
