    Upgrading 8800GTX to GTX 275 - Temperatures

So, I have an e6600 stock and was debating about building a new system based on Core i7, but am generally happy with my frame rates on my 8800GT. The upgrade to the GTX275 seems like you are still not CPU limited. Do yo agree? For $200 or so, if I can get my frame rate up 80-100%, I'll take it...

Gigabit Networks and 100 Mbps Devices

Would you get better performance (maybe 20% or more ) with a network where all devices are 100 Mbps but connect to a Gigabit switch vs. a network where everything connects to a 100 Mbps switch? I know each device is limited to 100 Mbps, but if multiple devices are talking (4, 6, etc.) is the...

Help! 2407WFP-HC Blinking Power Light and Input Light

One other detail.... Right before the it blanked my speakers made the USB Disconnect sound. I wonder if something happened with the card readers that are built into the display. BTW: No cards are plugged into the display.

Help! 2407WFP-HC Blinking Power Light and Input Light

I was in the middle of using my 2407WFP-HC and the screen went blank. The power light and the input light (Input 2, DVI) are slowly blinking. Unplugging the DVI connector from the PC did not force the input logo on the monitor. Unplugging the monitor and re-plugging it in did nothing. I...

    Is this true? Re: 24" - 30"+

The 245B was just reviewed on trustedreviews.com and it only received a 6/10 for image quality. The 275T is nice looking monitor, but if you are going to sit 10" from it, get a 24" like the 245T (not out in the U.S. yet), the 2407WFP-HC, or the LG you looked at. All have way better image...

Why You *Should* Buy a TN Panel

I have not had time to post screen shots of my background as a solid color, but I can tell you that the evenness top to bottom is definitely not as extreme as this post. The picture in the post seems very obvious. On the 226CW I have to look for it...

Why You *Should* Buy a TN Panel

I'll take a pic of my screen with no lights and with solid backgrounds when I get a minute. An LCD vs. a CRT for blacks or contrast...no contest, CRTs have much more ability. All that said, I would not trade my LCD for a CRT. So, for all of this debate which seems to exclude price as a...

Why You *Should* Buy a TN Panel

On the subject of the TN Panel for the Sony, I think you are correct. The HardForum sticky list is wrong. If you go to, http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php you will find the Sony listed as a TN. That said, we use Dell 2407s (not HC) at work and I don't see the difference. On the subject of...

Why You *Should* Buy a TN Panel

Until yesterday I owned a 19" Sony SDM-HS94P LCD. According to HardForum it contains a: Sony SDM-HS94P = 19 inch 12 ms PVA (AUO M190EN04 V1) panel. So, this is my reference point. I've been looking to upgrade to a new display for over 6 months. I've read countless reviews and thousands...

    Samsung 245T in Action

Found this video online of the Samsung 245T. It's being demoed by someone speaking French. If anyone who speaks French reads this, I'd love a translation. There was a Gizmodo article today saying that Samsung is readying a 24" inch panel that is LED backlit. In this video, the voice says both...
