So is the graininess just post processing? Or is it a "feature" of ray tracing? I don't recall that on the Doom 3 Arena RT demo from Intel a few years back.
Not sure if this has been discussed here or not. But I noticed this morning while switching from DX11 to DX12 in Battlefield 1 that FRAPS actually DOES work in DX12. It just doesn't show up on screen. I use AIDA64 and I have a 3rd party sidebar app. Well, in AIDA64 you can have the sidebar app...
Why is it you only ever post the known issues with AMD drivers and NEVER what's been fixed? You don't do that to nVidia drivers. And your site "claims" it's not a fan site.
I still have my Zune subscription. I like the free 10 tracks a month. This is the first I've heard of this. Not a big fan of the Groove software. Might be looking for another music service after almost a decade.
You got left out of the loop. Your feelings are hurt. How is this not whining? Most people would sweep this under the carpet and think nothing of it. But you wrote a 3 page editorial on it. Again, how is this not whining?
Guess I'm just not seeing it. It's not software based top down isometrics. Who cares? Deus Ex:HR wasn't the prettiest game on Earth when it launched. Didn't change it from being an excellent game.
It's got its fair share of gold spammers and bots, what MMO doesn't? But I don't see it overran with them by any means. And once you get out of the beginner zones, they disappear for the most part.
I might find and report 1-2 bots a week. Inbox spam and chat spam a lot more.
What a disgrace! Pitting an entry level APU against one of Intel's best CPUs?!?! I can't imagine why it had such shit scores. Raise the bar, don't lower it.
MSI told me to update the OS from 8 to 8.1. It's all over their site. And I fail to see how going from 8 to 8.1 is an issue. They use the same drivers. Well, it might an 8.1 specific issue. Only had the lappy for a couple of days before I got the 8.1 update. Not sure if it was doing this sound...
Well, the blurry is fixed. Thanx much heatlesssun!
The Xbox music app was the one that happened today actually. Cut the volume in half when I switched from it to Chrome. Chrome/YouTube videos do it too. But they actually mute all together.
On my last laptop (Windows 7 Pro x64) I set the HDMI...
Morning all.
So I bought a new laptop, it came with Windows 8 on it. Hated it. Got the free 8.1 update. Almost liking it. I have 3 REALLY annoying issues I am hoping someone can help with.
First, any non-fullscreen app is blurry. I like my Chrome but unless I use the Windows 8 mode the...
Exclusively on Nintendo consoles? I see a MASSIVE failure of this game to coincide with the lack of Wii Us sold. Too bad hedgehogs don't flee a sinking ship too.
Not sure what you are smoking here, I play the game at 1920x1200 just fine with all the bells & whistles on my original 7970 card (2xSSAA). Getting between 30-60fps (V-Sync enabled). Been doing it since the game launched. The 680 is NOT the only card that can play this game with AA enabled.
Ah! The window defaults smaller than needs be I see. Had to make the client larger before that window appeared. Thanx.
Edit: So I followed the guide to a T. My 7970 is just sitting there idle. The client found my GPU fine on it's own. When that failed to work, I deleted the GPU and "added" it...
<face palm> Feel like a bit of an idiot now. I have the same options on my RAID...only I am required to DL AMD's RAIDXert app to change them. New numbers are MUCH nicer than before. And a lot closer to Astral's.
Well, changing even 1 setting in my BIOS pertaining to my SATA ports and the whole system doesn't see my RAID array. However, a BIOS update did yield some slight bumps in performance. Still not on the same level as you Astral.
While RAID may drop some performance issues, it rasies others. Namely the lack of TRIM support or a garbage collector. Thus, my SSD RAID setup slows down faster over time than a single SSD would (or so I've been told, never ran a single SSD as my OS drive yet).
And I got to looking at my own...
You guys need to shop around a bit before posting prices. Newegg has that Performance Pro WAY cheaper than Amazon...

I have 2 Performance Pro SSDs in RAID 0 on a SATA III chipset. I benchmark a little lower than Astral's in AS...
Thanx. That's what I was wondering. My last setup was a Phenom II 965 quadcore with 4 sticks of RAM. Never thought about it. Well, I want more RAM (8GB is not enough oddly) and now questions came up in my mind. Rather do 2x 8GB sticks than 4x 4GB sticks.
Well, my question actually pertains to an 8-core CPU and whether or not to use 4 sticks over 2 sticks of RAM. I know the benchmarks of Ganged vs. Unganged on the Phenom II platform. My question is how does it affect having more cores...and possibly fewer sticks of RAM.
Evening all.
Not sure how many times this has been covered, but I am thinking I have a new slant on it. Check the sig for system specs. I am running an AMD FX-8150. Currently running 4x 2GB RAM. Looking to upgrade to either 16GB or <gasp> 32GB (cheap enough atm).
Now, I was always told...
"This issue is this, you cannot run with any driver version greater than the 8.921.2 RC11 driver that was initially released back in January of 2012 if you want to run games with Tri-Fire + Eyefinity enabled"
Anybody read that line at the very beginning and NOT see NVIDIA coming out on top?
