What does MS have to do with this?! Read the title of the article! Microsoft was hating on Google's new Youtube purchase. I agree with a previous post, sounds like sour grapes to me.
Not too much more point to continuing this debate, bro. There's clearly no middle ground, or at least not one that doesn't make people think you're an idiot or communist (since that's a favorite slur to throw around). I can't believe that this thread will last much longer, all anyone is doing...
Well then, color me effeminate. :D
That's quite the debate issue right there, some of those things I see as advantages. Personally, (and yeah, this is just me here) I like using iTunes more than anything else, I'm not enough of an audiophile to tell the sound quality that much, and I think the...
Wrong. You have a right to avoid having your stuff taken without cause and due process, but you don't have a right to privacy. That is a courtesy that is given to you by the government, but like all courtesies, it can be taken back just as easily. There is no constitutional nor god-given...
Microsoft's Zune just ended up getting sold off on Woot the other day, and if that's not a sign of a technology getting kicked to the curb, I don't know what is.
If Apple hadn't designed one of the best players on the market, they wouldn't be running the DAP show. End of story.
lmao. :D
Personally, I've not heard of this service either. And calling it "soapbox" is just pretentious.
Microsoft isn't Google, and they're proud that no one likes them and they're not growing by leaps and bounds every month. :p
I always knew this was gonna happen. No one uses it, cause no one buys Zunes, and now it's getting parsed out. Surprise.

Bah. I think that would help the world immeasurably. But only if it exploded. ;)
I like the idea for a speech-recog program that isn't limited to a library of words. I like being able to swear at my phone. :p
Oh, God. He works for an investment firm, dude. It's his JOB to anticipate market trends that will affect sales and stocks.
Having said that, I thought it was a little incongruous myself. Anticipating Apple releasing a new iPod is like expecting the sun to come up. It sounds a little to...
*sighs* Endorphins aside, I still don't see it as a viable "sickness". Aside from your having a recognizable mental condition that makes it impossible or very difficult to quit something, labeling it as a "sickness" or "addiction" just makes it easier for people to accept having it. Like it's...
I don't need RSI on my eyes, thank you. :p
But this definitely won't alleviate wrist/hand injuries. Now people can fap to their porn collection without the distraction of having to mouse between pictures.
Knowing that I'm just stoking a fire, I have to say yes, it is. At least with the alcohol one. Something that gives you a physical "high" (and NOT just an emotional/psychological one, e.g., THE INTERNET) is harder to let go of. Gambling addiction is just another name for having no self control.
To hell with whether the movie was good or not. I can't see how people actually believe that their opinions matter just because they made a little money on a project. Movie stars and directors are the WORST people on earth to have opinions. Just stick to your next project and shut up.
I'm pissed off enough that Adobe wants us to pay 900-some-odd bucks for Acrobat 8, and it honestly doesn't do all that much! It's a nice format (pdf, that is), and the markup stuff would be nice, but for $900? No thank you. I can't see why that's worth the cost, even though we need a solution...
Shoot, just Halo 3 alone is a good enough reason for me and my roomie to want to buy one. Throw in GTA4 (eventually) and Rock Band, and that's a holy triumvirate. :D
Eh, maybe, not really. The quote in the NYTimes article almost made it seem like coding was just taking longer than expected. Either way, not good news.
"Good deal" is debatable. Especially given the target audience:
So, the target audience would have to spend 1/3 to 3/4 of their yearly budget to get a computer? How many of those country dwellers even NEED a computer? This will get swallowed up by the city dwellers, methinks. Besides...
Because banks are privately owned. Caveat emptor, it seems. A user has to search around to find a bank and they think is secure enough, but at least speaking for me, the security is outweighed by the loan rates, savings plans, etc. that are offered.
lol... I just read about this in the NYTimes about 30 seconds before it posted here. :)
Bad news for Sony. The XBox has Halo to gear it up for the holiday season, but now Sony's left without their biggest upcoming title to spur hardware sales.
It is a rather nebulous concept to report on. After all, it's not about how much money they have, but how much they are worth, which makes no sense to me. If I'm worth $1million, but I only have $10k, then as far as I'm concerned, I only have $10k. If you can't spend it, should it be counted? ;)
Man, OOo would rule the community if they put more time and effort (and maybe even a little money) into it. It's functionally sound, it just looks soo bad... :(
Even if it wasn't free, just charging $30 would allow someone to devote themselves to making it look like a real competitor, and...
Power lines aren't all that inefficient, you know. Besides, which of those steps actually contribute to pollution? Fossil fuel -> electricity, duh, but after that, yeah, no emissions.
If you're gonna be that hung up on things not making a difference, let me ask you what YOU drive to work?
Especially since they went to so many lengths to make the article sound so... sexual...
I can see these being mobbed by druggies in malls, a la Peter on PCP in Family Guy.
"Oh man, this couch is so soft! How you doin' that?!" :D
Nono, people are looking at this wrong. The RIAA paid the teenagers to do it for them. :D :p
Of course, the vicious irony is that most of the worst "offenders" as far as music pirating are more than web savvy enough to avoid worms. Early teens with their rampant BT, Kazaa and Yahoo messenger...
Oh, stuff it.
10 to 15 years is quite a development cycle, even from initial concept. And remember, in case you didn't catch on to the thinly veiled sarcasm we presented earlier, it was the government's system first. We just made it grow and work for itself.
Hmm... I dunno if it would work, but Google is Google after all. Ads are annoying, but the idea of not purchasing a wireless plan can make people put up with a lot of annoyance...
