Yes the 38gl950g
I've read a few conflicting posts on reddit so just wanted to be sure as it is a sizeable investment in these monitors and so far I've been running these for months with zero issues
Is it fine to have say Discord/Telegram/Firefox running on the 2nd monitor whilst gaming? Or should I alternate with 4k videos to keep the pixels moving?
Don't want to get any potential burn in during long gaming sessions
100% agree. All the problems made public with the pg35vq how can anyone overlook these and then recommend it?
I did have an odd problem with one of my monitors today, was using it all day and then the screen went dark (similar to the monitor going in to standby) however the led light ring at...
It's not colour shift, I have it on both my LG's however it is no where near as bad as the pictures bigbluefe posted.
It is reduced when the brightness is turned up however I run mine at 40 brightness and I can barely notice it especially viewing Windows Explorer or tabs in Safari.
I...
I can see where you are coming from. I went through 2 before I settled on my current ones. The original monitors had a combination of dead pixels and poor ips glow.
I’m not saying mine does not have the ips glow however it is no where near as prominent as the pics you posted.
As for LTT, I...
Damn that’s not good. I have my brightness set to 40 and the ips glow is barely visible.
I do not see any glow in open tabs of Firefox or Windows Explorer.
Maybe try and arrange for a replacement possibly from a different shop?
What brightness settings do you have your monitor set at?
I’ve had numerous ips monitors now and all have exhibited this around the borders, some worse than others.
The 2 monitors I had to return all had this effect similar to yours. Now I’m not saying my replacements do not have it however...
Nice!
I am still looking around for a decent monitor arm that can support 38" Ultrawides but not having much success. Some of the reviews of the ones I have found say the arms sag...
Thinking I might have to use 2 separate arms
Just an update, picked up both new monitors Friday and so far no dead pixels and minimal light bleed/ips glow.
Both monitors set to 144hz/8 bit via Nvidia control panel. These panels are absolutely awesome.
Very happy with the replacements. I’ve got both side by side and the immersion from 1...
Sounds like you got a good panel.
I have spoken to both stores and they are willing to either replace or refund. I am in two frames of mind to purchase 2 from the same store and hopefully 1 is good.
It just seemed odd that the one I received yesterday, not long after I did the dead pixel test...
Is anyone having dead pixels on their screens?
I’m on my second replacement from a different shop and when I first checked there were no dead pixels. Once I adjusted the settings (144hz/8 bit/ rgb) and ran a dead pixel check online a dead pixel appeared in the left hand side of the screen.
Not...
Thanks for the reply! I forgot to add in the list I have a bluray drive to go in as well.
Also, I have an old gtx 460 sitting at home which I could throw in if the need arises!

Lith1um - what's it like gaming on the LG especially in eyefinity? Is there noticeable ghosting and/or lag?
What are your thoughts on coming from a 1440p to 1080p? How hard was text to read on a 1440p monitor?
Regards,
I'm currently trying to decide between the LG 23ea63v-p and ASUS PB278Q.
I like the LG because of the thin bezel design yet like the ASUS because of the 1440p resolution.
Do you have any experience with the ASUS?
I am just unsure whether I want to go with 1080p or 1440p considering both...
Hi all,
Just wanting your thoughts and opinions on this monitor?
I will primarily use the monitor for gaming and just general work!
Also, I'm wanting to run a tri monitor setup.
Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated ;)

Considering I am only using my server to store files, is a Xeon cpu and compatible mobo with ECC necessary? Or could I get away with my current configuration?
Just spec'd up a Xeon build:
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230V2 3.3Ghz
Mobo: SuperMicro X9SCM-F-O
Memory: Kingston KVR16E11/8
Harddrive...
I will have to take a look into it!
My current configuration for my server is:
Motherboard: Asus P8H77-I (mini ITX)
CPU: Intel Core i3 3220
Case: Fractal Design Array R2 Mini ITX with 300w psu
Memory: Still undecided but will be ECC
HDD: 4 x 3TB WD Red
Should I be looking at going Xeon cpu?
This might sound like a stupid question but is NFS already installed on Ubuntu or do I need to install it separately?
I have done some reading and will give this all a crack when I finish building my server! I'm using 4 x 3TB WD Red harddrives, do you think RaidZ2 is too much? Should I be...
So, initialising all the commands is through SSH but use Webmin to get a graphical view of everything?
I don't really understand when you say to look for unique identifiers for harddrives :( What exactly would I be looking for? I clicked the link and my head nearly exploded haha
Also, what are...
kac77 - Wow! That is exactly what I need to get started! Thank you for taking the time to post that!
+1 to you sir!
Also, I read that you can install Webmin to manage the raid, is this a good idea?
Is it necessary to install Samba as well? The computers that will be accessing the server are...
Hi all!
Just finalised my parts for a nas file server, but need a little help!
I was contemplating running FreeNAS but am thinking I would like to learn Linux in more depth and run Ubuntu. Unfortunately, that is as far as I really know where to go in terms of installing programs on Linux...
