Thanks for the fast reply.
Sweet! I didn't know that all those chipsets would support the quadcore 45nm chips.
I want pci-e 2.0 so I'm thinking of going with the x38.
Hello everyone,
I'm buying my first new computer since like 2001-02. Going to go with the e8400, fancy HS/fan, 4gb RAM (don't know the speed yet), and an 8800GTS.
I will not be doing a full upgrade again for a very long time.
My question is: In about a year+ I may decide to upgrade...
I ordered a normal Xtremegamer (not the fatality version). The one I got is an Xtrememusic (I'm near positive). Not sure if theres any ram chips, but there is a heatsink on one of the chips.
As title says I ordered an X-Fi XtremeGamer, however I received something different. The model number on it is SB0460. According to Wikipedia it's the xtrememusic/platinum. It did not come with a front panel drive bay. However, all the connectors are gold and it's larger than the...
Looked everywhere but can't find the power requirements on these two cards:
XFX GeForce 7600 GT AGP 8X 256MB DDR3 Dual DVI
eVGA GEFORCE 7800 GS OC 256MB AGP 8X
On Newegg: Here and Here
Looking for the minimum Watt requirements. Ex. 350 Watts
Also the amount of amps need on the 12v...
Here's a bench of the 7600 gt, 7800 gs, and the X1950 PRO. It seems the 7600 and 7800 are equal. Trading blows back and forth depending on games and settings. I do think the 7600 GT beat the 7800 GS over all. However, the clock speeds are a little faster on both cards now.
I've read a bench mark that put the 7600 GT ahead of the 7800 GS. Even Tom's Hardware March best buys listed the 7600 GT and not the 7800 GS. I would like to see some more bench marks between these two cards. I'm about to buy also.
Question: I have an fw900. My current video card has 1 VGA and 1 DVI. Currently I'm just using the VGA.
However, I want to upgrade my video card to a 7600 gt. Those cards only have 2 dvi outs. I'm wondering how do I go about hooking up the monitor. I'm guessing I'd buy a DVI to VGA...
Thanks for the replies.
So I just looked at some benchmarks for the 7800gs, 7600GS, and the 7600 GT (all AGP). It seems the 7600 GT came out on top.
I see some XFX 7600 GT's on ebay, I'm trying to find out their PSU requirements (no luck so far). I'm hoping my PSU will meet their...
So through research on the forum I did find that the eVGA e-GeForce 7600GS AGP calls for a minimum of a 350 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amp Amps.) Which I can match.
Hows eVga and how does the 7600GS stack up against the 7800GS...
Just looked at the power requirements of the 7800GS. It's a minimum 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 20A or more). Mine, unfortunately, is 380W with a DC output of 18A on the 12V current. Unless some of the other currents make up for it (I could be way off here) then I...
Current setup is a 3.0 GHz P4, 1GB Ram, and a 128 MB ATI 9800 pro AGP. I'm looking to hold off upgrading my entire setup a little longer by upgrading the video card. I want to get more out of the games I play now (CS:S, BF2). I just got an fw900 so playing CS:S on 1920 x 1200 with all...
I would but they will eventually wear out. Id like to have something that would last longer than 6 months - 2 years. From what I keep reading is that the ratpadz eventually runs thin. Just read about SteelPad though. Going to read up on them real quick.
Hello Hardocp Forum,
I'm getting a new mouse and mouse pad. I'd like to buy the Icemat 2nd Edition because it would never wear out. I plan on getting it in black (I'm guessing that this color will most likely respond best). However, I have a question. I heard that some mouses don't respond...
I had the same question recently. Just purchased some Audio Technica and needed a mic. Everywhere I looked people recommended the Zalman ZM-MIC1. Clips onto the headphone wire, has 3 clips to connect the two their entire length. Also, I believe it has a sensitivity adjustment wheel.
On...
I've been in the darkroom in the past. And am now getting up to speed with digital photography. I've posted questions about upgrading my computer. Recently I posted questions regarding the fw900.
When it comes down to strictly photography do CRTs trump most LCDs?
I've learned that the...
I'm interested in getting a Refurbished Grade A- fw900 from AcuriteIT. Would you guys recommend doing this? Or will I be buying a dying monitor. I'm concerned about paying $400 dollars for one of these things and it dying in a year. Thanks for your input.
I've seen these monitors and they are very attractive. I know there's a mile long thread on this monitor already, but I'm wondering if I got one of these now could I expect it to last very long? The one I'm looking at is a refurbished HP version of the fw900 from AccurateIT.
Also if I was...
Two more questions: Do I need to have the same brand and/or speed ram across all for DIMMS or does it just matter that dimms 1and3 and 2and4 are the same? Also any recommendation on whether to go for 2gb or 3gb total ram? I'm leaning towards two right now.
Thanks guys. The cpu is a p4 3 GHz. I thought something wasn't right about those 512mb cards. And my power supply is currently 380w.
Used, that's an idea I never thought of. I may just have to do that. As well as a $180-$200 budget for myself.
Thanks again. And Supreme Commander...
Hi, my current computer is 3 years old. I have an Asus p4c800-e deluxe mobo. It has an 8x AGP pro slot. The video card currently in it is an 128mb Radeon 9800 pro.
I'm in need of a new video card. I don't have a lot of cash. Going with pci-express would require me to buy a new mobo and...
Hello I have a computer with 4 hard drives and I'm wondering how I should go about setting them up. They are: 2 SATA Western Digital Raptors 36 GB at 10,000 RPM
1 Western Digital 200gb IDE at 7,200 RPM
1 External 160 gb not sure the speed at the moment
The person who gave me the computer...
