I have a related question: Which 32" LCD TV's have glossy screens?
I'm using a 32EX400 as a PC monitor now and find myself wanting to go back to a glossy screen.
The Sony manual on pg. 8 states that:
"In the case of 32 and 40 inch models, the AC power cord is attached to the TV."
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/KDL32EX400.pdf
I take this to mean that the TV and power cord are inseparable, and thus any EX400 unit will ship with the cord even...
Krescent, would you mind putting up a few photos of your display at desktop and with browser running? Preferably with a non phone camera, if you have one. Thanks
To other people, what is the best 32" HDTV LCD today for use as computer monitor? The one with the sharpest text clarity?
It's nearly 2011. Why are 30" LCD's still selling for over $1,000?

Daffy Duck says, "Diss' is an outrage!"
Haha, is there an online retailer that stocks these types of displays? Maybe I'll go for 2560x1600. That's the most common resolution for 30" LCD's right?
Wouldn't going from say, 24" to 50" at the same resolution result in a massive pixel pitch enlargement? I don't see how it wouldn't if you're doubling the area of the display yet keeping the number of pixels in that area the same.
Do all HDTV's top out at 1920x1080?
Here's an idea:
As hardware...
I'm looking to purchase a large-screen TV to replace my current 24" HP w2408h LCD monitor. My desired screen size is 32-40" and I'm hoping to save money by purchasing a used or refurb model from ebay. I'd like to spend under or around $500 if I can help it.
The intended use of this display will...
So you're not actually going to refute what I wrote, eh?
You're going to tell me that I'm wrong, without explaining why I'm wrong.
Which means that nobody besides you will know why you think I'm wrong.
Thus your post on this public discussion forum is pretty much useless.
I run upwards of...
If I were designing an anti-virus app, I would simply program it to scan taskman periodically and alert the user as soon as any unfamiliar apps appeared. There would be a modifable safelist so you could tell the app what to flag and what to bypass. If the user did not respond to the warning...
You should have unplugged the network cord as soon as you figured out something was amiss. That, and scanning taskman for any unfamiliar processes.
You definitely shouldn't have let it "re-validate" your OS. While you were out and about, additional malware was being installed on your PC. You...
Thanks, I will do that. I have another question and that is, which netbooks have e-stata ports? I'd like to buy an 11-12" netbook with an esata port but have only found the HP Mini 1000, which is 10".
Yeah, I plan to upgrade my PSU eventually, but the replacement will have to be modular. I would hate to go back to non-mod after using the Rosewill.
"There are no EPS12v to 6 pin pci-e adapters that I'm aware of."
Okay. That's what I wanted to know. Will have to convert from peripheral power...
Well, you guys convinced me. The next upgrade I make will be to an LGA 1366 platform with an i7 cpu and 4 gb DDR3. I will get most of the the parts off ebay.
Btw, I now have my E8600 at 4.25 ghz @ 1.35 V. Stable for about 2 days now. This chip also came from ebay. The 650i Ultra really isn't a...
Hmm, that's interesting, but I really wish the clocks had been over 3.0 in that test, since most people with that hardware are running at those speeds these days.
I'd love to see someone put the top i7 vs top C2D vs top Quad, all running at 4.0 ghz. Haven't seen it yet. The problem with...
So Alex, your cpu is basically running at stock voltage or just a bit over, eh? Did you get anything more out of it, speed wise, by bumping it up that extra .005, or did you do it just for stability?
With the elaborate cooling on the ROG I'm surprised you felt the need to modify the chipset...
Switching to a newer socket would entail a new mobo, RAM, CPU and HSF. I can't afford all that, nor am I convinced that it would provide a performance increase in my app of choice, FSX. If I cared about doing anything else besides running FSX, I might give consideration to Core i7, but that's...
I'm thinking of upgrading my 775 mobo and would like to get opinions on which board constitutes the best 775 platform to date. It does not have to be the latest gen that is selling on Newegg now (i.e. nforce 750i or Q45). I'm perfectly willing and even inclined to buy used older gen hardware off...

Yeah. Besides, the pin config on the 8 wouldn't match up to the GPU slot, even if it broke apart.
I have a PSU with only one 6-pin PCI-E power cable and a GPU that requires two.
My PSU has an 8-pin PCI-E power cable which I'm not using for anything. I want to convert that to a 6-pin connector to plug it into the second slot of my GPU.
Problem is, I've only seen the reverse: 8-pin male to...
I have an evga 650i ultra mobo and a GTX 260.
I haven't tried it yet but from the looks of it, there is no way to get this card in without blocking the SATA ports on my mobo.

I doubt that even right-angle connectors...
I need a 2TB E-SATA external drive setup.
As I see it, I have 2 choices for this:
1) Get a pre-built 2TB External Array

2) Get an external enclosure and make my own array with internal HDD's
My question is whether the...
It locked up so badly that nothing short of hitting the switch on the case could get it out.
It was actually NOD32 and Avast that did it, not AVG. Although, I've used AVG in the past and it's pretty much the same deal in terms of clutter.
Crashes like that don't happen to my system...
Well you see, I used to use AdAwareSE 2003 as my "antivirus" program, that is, until people told me it wasn't a "real" antivirus.
So you can see how I ended up where I am.
There was once a time when virus scanners scanned for viruses...and nothing more.
Perhaps that was before your time...
ScreenPrint32
Captures entire screen or just active window, saves the file where you want it, specify format and naming convention. Only problem is that it has a limited selection of capture keys.
I'm looking for a small app that I can install to scan my system for malware.
I do not want "active protection" of any sort.
I don't want new entries appearing in my services configuration.
I don't want any new background processes.
I don't want email, boot sector, memory, etc...
This is the latest generation 17 inch laptop from HP. Purchased earlier this year in anticipation of putting it to use on the road, but my job requirements have changed and I now work from home. The laptop has been sitting inside a filing cabinet these past months. It's still in like-new...
I'm constantly having to re-enter my login information on websites with each new browser session even though I have auto-save on in both IE7 and FF3.
I am not clearing cookies. Has anyone experienced this before?
So I just got this today and it replaced an old WD2500KS as my system drive.
Naturally, I was expecting a performance boost, and while there is a difference, it's not as much as I was hoping for. Yea, my system is faster but it still has periods of noticeable slowdown. Maybe it will grow on...
Why not destroy it physically if you want it gone for good? Seems like it would be easier to get into a cabinet than it would be piece a drive back together...
And why don't you trust wiping - have you ever seen a successful file recovery from a disc wiped with the most thorough algorithms...
Headphone cord won't reach, I need a 1/8 mini plug cord extension...
Can't seem to find any under 6' though.
With the front panel connector, I may be plugging it in wrong. I was hoping someone who has an Antec 900 and X-FI card could look at my pic and tell me if my setup looks correct.
