Possibly, Your digital inputs on the Shuttle are most likely only 2 channel input. I am unsure but your X-Box may contain a encoded surround output. They may not be compatible or you may be able to set the output on the X-Box. Try it out you won't hurt anything. The only thing you may have...
Those 3.5 to dual RCA cables work as a quick fix on the Audigy 2 BUT, they may not work on the X-fi's. Creative labs has a small Digital I/O module that is very cheap and should be good for what you want. Have a look here...
Your right, just not yet. The Digital surround output for Dolby Digital Live & DTS connect will be added later...;)
-through driver updates. The schedule is on their site.
Here is a review by a buddy.

He says they are awesome.
The Prelude has "souped up" Opamps out of the box also. It uses LM4562 for the front channels and the OPA2134 for all the rest. Both are very nice opamps.
The Sondigo inferno is a 8788 cards and offers Dolby Digital Live and DTS-connect for around $70. That is a great deal for the feature set and they make great HTPC cards.
Yeah, that's what I said. The release date from the company is still the same. Take's a while to move them and stock them etc...It is finally coming to market.
NCiX is making Pre-orders for the card. The release date is said to be good still. The card probably won't make it to distributors until first week of august...
I went from the Audigy 2 to the X-Meridian 7.1 and the X-Meridian is amazing compared to the Audigy 2. I use them both now and I have EAX running through the X-Meridian.
I already told you all that in the other thread, including the approximate date. I wouldn't give info like that if I didn't get it from Auzentech. Now it has been verified to your liking you can buy one..:D There was even connection diagram floating around the net from Auzentech that showed...
@Phide, It has been confirmed by their tech support quite a few times. If you want to wait for a Press release, I would think it will be out shortly after the Prelude..
It is a complex programmable logic device (CPLD)..
I think it would be used for controlling the digital I/O to and from that AUD-EXT header. Of course without seeing the schematics I am just guessing.
Guitar is mono so your only recording to the one side. You can get a mono to stereo adapter. Another said awhile back that you can adjust this when your in audio creation mode. I am not sure where as I do not own a X-fi. Do you use pre-amp for your guitar?
There are some pretty cheap and...
The M-Audio 24/96 would be perfect for you. It is considered a beginner level Production card. It should be more then adequate for your transfers. You will need a RIAA Preamp of course. What are you using for software, Are you considering any corrections for pop's or hiss? Your level will...
I don't mind the delays it means they are making sure the card is ready. Don't have that long to wait now, if this is indeed the last delay. This card will pretty much be the new gamer card for sure.
if your HT receiver has digital in then you might want to use that from the onboard. If not I would suggest getting a good soundcard and running a analog patch to the receiver.
The Auzentech X-Meridian is quite a leap over a X-fi. Some prefer X-fi for gaming standards etc, For straight sound quality a X-fi cannot stand up to a X-Meridian....
If you are interested it would be better to wait for the Prelude... For lack of components the X-Meridian has been discontinued.
Mins is configured and fully integrated to run just like that. I don't even notice it anymore. My gaming audio runs through a Audigy 2 ->Velbac->X-Meridian 7.1. Allowing full EAX or OpenAL for gaming and the sound quality and features of the X-Meridian. For music and movies the output...
Without that Plugin there wouldn't be alot of singers. Without PC's there wouldn't be alot of bands for that matter either. If you want to see how good a band actually is check them out live, that will give you the right idea. Almost anybody can sing great and sound like a star being thrown...
You said your system is new to you. Given this fact everything sounds new and great. Give it about 6 months when you firmly know what your system sounds like and I would think you would be able to tell the difference. I would say keep your music in the best format you can.
It is of course up...
Well consider other companies that release product that aren't ready for the street. One that always comes to mind is the first batch of X-fi's. People couldn't wait for those cards and when they got them they were junk shackled to crappy drivers. Some people never did get theirs to work...
The guys at the AVfourm tested the X-Meridian against alot of different gear, as a source against DACs, Pre/Pros etc. They found that it takes expensive gear to best the sound quality put out by the X-Meridian. It can easily kill alot of receivers and other gear until you start to get $2000...
