While I agree it shouldn't have been removed, ALT+F4 is still faster anyways. One thing I will say about Windows 8 after using it for half a year. In an effort to make this system more user friendly to the lay person, they've only really confused them more and have only improved usage for...
Is it possible for future reviews to have a category to compare sound levels too? I've built a pretty quiet PC and it's important to me, and since I like HardOCP's reviews, it'd be nice to have it all in one place.
And regarding the ASUS TOP, yes it has better stats on paper, but it's a very...
As far back as I can remember, Windows always came with Sound Recorder no? I haven't checked in many years since I have no use for it, but really, switch your recording source to WAVE and just hit record... Maybe a suing of Microsoft should be done as well? That'd be interesting. :)
Are you up for spending a bit more for a better cooler since you're overclocking? I'd totally get the Noctua NF-D14 if you're sticking to air cooling and for the case maybe I'm a bit biased but I have the Corsair 600T SE (the white one) and I love it. Great to work with, lots of space, and...
Hey guys, this is driving me crazy and I was wondering if it was an OS thing or an SSD thing. I was running Windows 7 on my OCZ Vertex 3 60GB since Christmas. On the logon screen, after I typed my password and pressed Enter, the desktop loaded in 0.5 seconds to 1 second. Everything ready to...
Hey guys, a local shop here is selling both of these drives, with the OCZ being $158 after tax + $20 MIR, coming to a final price of $138. The Intel is also on sale however for $179 after tax. Based on all this, what do you guys think I should go with? I've had no problems with the Vertex 3 60GB...
Yes and while that's true, it doesn't make sense that it WAS working before during boot. It also doesn't explain why I also get no output while hooked up to an actual PC monitor during boot?
I only have these 2 cards. And it doesn't explain why it was working before but not now? It's driving me crazy because if I need to do any repairing I can't since I can't even see the BIOS or anything.
It's routinely cheaper than that on Soundpressionals.com. It's currently $129.99 and during Christmas it was at $99.99. Great price for a great started headphone set.
I've been hearing about these a lot recently. Anyone with a similar setup to me have experience gaming with this monitor on the native res? Was going to get a Dell 24" Ultrasharp before but now I'm conflicted...
Hey guys I recently built a new rig and have had no problems so far, but the other week, when I turn on the computer I do not see the standard post screens or even the Windows 7 loading screen. However my computer DOES boot into Windows 7 just fine and everything works as usual. But this is...
There really is no reason to buy a 6950 right now as the 7xxx series runs faster and with less heat and power as was previously mentioned. However if you can find one that's decently priced still and can unlock to the 6970, that would be another story. :D
I second that notion of getting a separate HDD dock. I have the BlackX just by itself and it's nice because if the dock ever fails it's not a big deal, I can get a new one. But if the dock fails on your case and it's important to you how would you even begin to fix that?
Doesn't your system get pretty loud from the 920 fans if you go 5.0GHz? Is that stable too? I considered going that high but couldn't think of an instance where the gains would be worth the extra heat and noise.
Yup. In particular I was looking at Notcua NF-P12 PWM fans.. so it's fine then, won't be too hot that way? My thinking is, is it better to cool when needed (PWM) or always cool (regular fans) to keep things optimum?
Hey guys, I have a motherboard that has 2 PWM fan headers, and I was wondering on your opinions of using PWM fans as case fans? They would be for the two 120mm fans on the top of my 600T SE. Although just wondering, would it be using a motherboard sensor of some kind to decide on when to ramp...
The Gentle Typhoons are fans that I've looked at, but the noise they generate are somewhat of a turn off for me. I'm trying to keep things as quiet as possible. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of performance in the name of quiet since right now the bed is in the bedroom hooked up to the TV, and...
Hey guys just finished putting together the rig in my sig recently. I'm still undecided on the fans I should have on the top of my Corsair 600T SE. I want something quiet than can move a decent amount of air. Is CFM most important for a fan used on top or static pressure? Also, i currently...
It'd fit certainly, but the problem is all that extra space in the drive bay. The slim drive itself would take up maybe half the bay height-wise probably. If you don't mind the fact that there'd be a gaping hole then go for it! I think these are really meant for laptops or maybe smaller drive...
This is actually interesting to me being from Canada. The only people who have ever charged me for paying any bill online would be our equivilent of the DMV. Everyone else never charges me for paying bills online whether with Visa or otherwise. Of course here in Ontario we pay 13% tax on...
Well the only reason I'm looking at those cards is because of the upcoming sale next Monday. If there's a hot price for it... very tempting. At this point I might just SLI 460 then though and maybe wait a generation or 2. :S
Very much so yes.. Great minds think alike! I've also OC'd to 4.5 lol
I'm gaming on my 1080p LCD TV at the moment.
So even though I'm sure I can get buyers for my 460 for $120ish you guys still think I should stick with 460 SLI?
Hey all, I've recently built a new rig but have held off on the GPU for now since my GTX 460 1GB is still decent. Right now a new one at a local shop costs $160ish after tax. I live in Canada and we have Boxing Day right after Christmas, which is the equivalent of Black Friday in the US. This is...
Hey guys so I've got an Antec P180 case and an i5 2500k. I also have an SLI setup with 2 GTX 460 1GB so case is pretty full. Anyways I've been looking at 3 different coolers, the Noctua NH-D14, the Antec Kuhler 920 and the Corsair H80. The H100 is out of the question since it won't fit inside my...
Ok then I guess between this XFX:

And this Corsair:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021
Which would you say is better? The XFX is 74.99 after MIR here whereas the Corsair is 109.99. Not sure...
Yup the efficiency and noise are strong selling points for me, and the modularity is a big thing for me as well. But searching online I've seen someone mention that this particular PSU has a loud electric hum. Not sure how distracting that is. Does anyone have this PSU and can comment? Also, so...
Also, is 80 Plus Bronze good enough? Is Gold worth the extra money? I ask because I got a decent deal on an OCZ ZX 850W PSU and price-wise is about 40 bucks more than the nearest 650W PSU that's Bronze and isn't modular like the OCZ.
Hey guys, I was initially only looking to upgrade a few things but now I've more or less decided on a new rig but I'm re-using my old power supply, video card, sound card, and case.
Here's my semi-new rig's specs:
Antec P180
i5 2500k
GA-Z68XP-UD3P
G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM x 2...
Well after gaming with the PMX for a bit, I started to get hand cramps within 30 minutes. That's something that's never happened ever! G9x performed fine for gaming and no cramps, but the ergonomics still leave something to be desired. I've kept the G9x for now and I guess we'll see how it...
