EVGA 970 SC - with two monitors having the same issue.
Normally run one @ 144Hz and one @ 60Hz and card would never down clock below 912mhz and idle around 50C
Clock the first one down to 120 and 60 and card drops down to 135mhz with in seconds and the temp falls to normal ranges.

Figured I would toss this one out there in case anyone else has issues.
660Ti with a clean install of 306.23.
OC set by MSI Afterburner 2.2.4 @ a low +50 core +350 memory.
System tests and benches fine with zero artifacts from Kombustor or OCCT on a clean boot.
If I sleep/resume they get...
The jumper to clear the CMOS is along the bottom of the board by the LED and should be labeled CLRTC.
For the double boot issue I would make sure both the EPU and TPU switches are set to the disabled setting, make sure you are using the newest BIOS, and then clear the CMOS. Once this is done...
I don't think we have the full story here. Having replaced failed fan's in HP laptops similar to this - the pictures posted and in the PDF do not show the most important surface that could have affected the thermal performance of this PC. With that being said just looking at the fan this PC was...
Intel SSD's (or any other drives based off them) have issues where they crash or freeze due both S.M.A.R.T. issues or 6G SATA port issues when they are running older firmware.
The update to resolve this for Intel drives can be downloaded from here...
You should not be RAID'ing your SSD's - TRIM is not supported under RAID and they will slow down over time. Backup your data off them, secure wipe them, then restore your data once they have been reconfigured as non-RAID.
As for the HDD's - I had a RAID0 setup with two drives, and when I...
For kicks I popped in my SSD that my C2D was running off of when I rebuilt it as a i7-2600k and it booted and did a whole lot of detecting and seemed to run. But I did secure erase the SSD and did a fresh install anyway after as it just makes sure there are less issue down the line.

These drivers just majorly screwed up my Intel D975XBX2 Win7 PC. System was un-bootable (just hung at loading screen) and windows repair could not do anything.
Ended up having to move the boot drive over to the 2nd SATA controller just to...
FYI As title reads KB938979 breaks DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS just like KB932596 did.
Don't install it if you like the ability to control your own computer and make your hardware work they way YOU want and paid for it to.
If your opinion on this matter differs from my own - please press...
These are not error codes but rather called POST codes. (Power On Self Test)
They are status indications of what the system is doing while starting up at the BIOS level.
They can be used to diag issues if say it hangs at a certain point during boot - you could google the POST code to determin...
I would suggest avoid messing around - get a floppy and install the drivers using the F6 method during the windows install. Save yourself the messing around and risks.
It's the way Intel suggests to do it so that method has to carry some weight.
Adding my $0.02 here.
I could NOT just enable AHCI mode after I installed as the default legacy and get the OS to boot - it would just blue screen.
I could NOT install the Matrix drivers unless AHCI mode was enabled as the installer would not allow it.
This is what I did to get around...
