I installed these but AMD Overdrive was missing from the CCC and my GPU Fan was stuck at 100% :( Rolled back to 13.1 and all is good.

It's sad, AMD was starting to do a lot better on the driver side. Ever since Terry Mak moved to Fusion it's been slipping hard though.

The refresh rate basically eliminates sample and host ghosting. Which makes them the fastest performing monitors around in terms of 'Motion Resolution'.

Steam really has very little to do with it. The engine that it's running is GoldSrc. Steam is merely a platform to sell games and provides steamworks functions to games that wish to use them. (Things like avatars or the server browser) They could rip all of the steam stuff out of CS1.6 in a day...

"Old Steam engine" lol. CS1.6 is Vert- so it is indeed "better" at 4:3 than it is at 16:9. The Recoil thing that NCX is talking about it probably the primary reason they all play at 800x600. There's other reasons too though. Like Cracks between boxes appearing to be larger when scaled up etc...

XL2420T is indeed real, it was first mentioned at the GeForce LAN as a Lightboost compatible monitor. Thanks for the link, It looks fricken slick, hopefully it's competitively priced when it launches.

Samsungs 2011 LEDLCDs have some pretty terrible backlight bleed as well. Looks like they can't fix their uniformity problems on either side. :/
