I was in the same boat. I have a 3007WFP and I was using a 2407WFP in portrait next to it. The height not matching irked me. I always saw the PLP setups using the 2007FP (Be sure to get 2007FPs, not the 2007WFPs) and I was envious
When I built a new machine, I ended up using my old NVIDIA...
You are misled if you believe this TV is worth 2400$. I paid 950$ for this TV about 14 months ago. I got a better deal than most seeing how my salesman was my friend on his last week at his job and it was open box, but yes, definitely not worth that much.
I can easily get 2 browser windows side by side on my 30 incher, and that's pretty awesome.
I had a 24 before that I use as a portrait wingman which just quite couldn't do that well enough.
An particular reason everything is out in the middle of the room like that? I'm not seeing the benefit to having it not be against that wall right there.
You should take a look at the Lian-Li A05B. There's a big thread in the Cases and Modding forum. Really sleek, clean, professional looking case that's relatively small.
This thread has made me choose this case for my next build. Everything should be here on Monday. Love the clean, sleek look, as I'm not a fan of ricey lights and windows and all of that.
Thanks for all the pics and ideas for wire management!
I've got this case too. You know that you can put the drive in the other way so the cables attach on the motherboard side of the case, right? It would make that setup even cleaner.
Well, it has both 75mm and 100mm standard VESA holes, so it should work for both.
I'm really interested in seeing pics from all angles when it's all together, and if you think it would work for a Dell 2407WFP and a 19" Samsung in portrait mode.
The Dell comes in a few pounds under the "max...
Just 2 of the same model/size or a wingman in portrait would be fine for me.
I'm looking for a cheap arm to put my 19" WS alongside my new 2407WFP to do this.
I'm considering taking the gamble on the geeks.com arm. It's rather inexpensive. I can't find a review for it anywhere.
I've got an IKEA MIKAEL. Easy on the budget (60$), plenty deep and wide enough for most everything you need.
Works well under a window if you can't have shelves/hutch sticking up over the rear.
Look into it.
If you're getting one of these, please post pictures of your setup after it arrives and you get it together!
I'm curious if this would work for a Dell 2407 and another 19" LCD in portrait mode, or if the 2407 is too heavy.
Next computer is probably a Mac Pro (or equivalent at time of purchase). So much so that I considered an ACD instead of the Dell 2407, but it just wasn't worth paying a few hundred more for an inch smaller, and not having the component inputs if I ever want to move an XBox 360 in here.
No, it's quite sturdy. I'm quite impressed for the price.
Behind that white piece below you could probably do some quality cable management, but I'm lazy.
My roommate and I each bought one and we love them.
yeah, it's the MIKAEL. It was like 60 bucks. This mofo is deep and doesn't have a dinky keyboard trey (i hate them). Lack of drawers allows me to put things where I want them. One of the best purchases I've made in a long time.
I'm surprised more people don't have one.
2407WFP came on Friday replacing the 19" Widescreen samsung that's now based off of my MacBook.
Do I wish I had a Black MacBook? yes.
Was it worth the extra 400 bucks at the time? no.
If you're in college, you may also want to see if your Bookstore sells Macs or something. Mine does, they give you a discount, and were clearing out old stock for the CoreDuo Macbooks for 699 last month.
I bought a 'TUCANO' sleeve for my MacBook that fits it well and has protected it nicely for the ~year I've had it. It also came with a smaller sleeve that fits a mouse and the power adapter. I got it at my University Bookstore.
I'm using one of these right now and I really like it. Part of it hangs under a window so I couldn't get anything (for this apartment, anyway) that stuck up above like a jerker...
I saw that this weekend and thought about it before buying my 2407.
The major gripe I had with it is that it looks really, really, cheap. It's just not visually aesthetic at all. One of the worst looking LCDs I've ever seen. I just wouldn't want it sitting on my desk.
I ordered mine last night as well. Really excited.
I noticed on the refurbs that they do not have free shipping, pretty much eliminating the discount. So I didn't see it being worth the < A04 gamble...
I'm curious to see when they actually get this to me, and I'm crossing my fingers for...
You should look into QuickSilver if you're down with using keyboard shortcuts. Pretty much indexes everything on your drive for easy access.
Example: Command + Space type in "fi" and it'll launch Firefox.
Then within Firefox, Command + Space type in "ha" and it'll launch Hardforums.
It...
If you have an old IDE drive you can install on that, then use the manufacturer's utility to move the contents to the SATA drive. Did that with a friends machine.
I was astonished too. Who uses a goddamn floppy.
Oh Vista, we welcome you with open arms.
I got a 3.7ish in HS and I got into UW. I think my SAT was around 1200. Nothing astounding.
If you go to UW you should look into the Informatics program. It's a bit like CS, but not as much hard coding, morely focused on development for the end user, amongst other things. Lots of...
I'd get the Mini, but I might be biased.
I bought a MacBook in June and it's been great to me. The remote is really cool, even though I hardly use it. It would be perfect for a Mini setup for an entertainment system. Any PC option will just be clunky.
