Wife hates the Xbox and PC, but last year all she wanted for Christmas was a Wii. She wasn't much of a gamer before but she's definitely starting to come to the dark side now.
If you're gonna spend almost $100 to get it fixed, I would suggest just getting a new Arcade version. I realize that not everyone has an extra hundred bucks to throw around, but you'd get a sparkly new warranty, HDMI, and comfort in the fact that it's not a refurb.
Disc verification is still required with HDD install to prove you possess what you want to play. Otherwise you'd never have to buy another game. Rent, install, play forever. Rinse and repeat with every game on the planet. Not a good profit model.
It took me a bit to realize that the guide button actually brings up a very compact and basic version of the old blades. I think a lot of people are overlooking that as they're blinded by all of the new flash and glitz.
I'm in on the vote for axing that stupid Spotlight channel, or at least...
Had to try out the party function last night, and the party chat is awesome. I love being able to talk to EVERYONE at the same time. Makes life much easier in MP games. However......
I found this very interesting. We wanted to try out a MP game, and it seemed the only one common to the...
Sony essentially sold their right of control by licensing Netflix to distribute their product through a rental service. Allowing Sony to change licensing terms midstream to dictate what, when, or to whom Netflix is allowed to distribute certain materials (in this case prohibiting Columbia...
So you're saying that Sony should have the right to tell you that you can only play your BD movie in the PS3 and not in a stand alone BD player. They own the rights and should be able to do that, right?
Flawed logic. Netflix is licensed by Sony to distribute these movies to paying...
There has to be something seriously broken in the Gears 2 matchmaking system. It usually takes me a good five minutes just to get teamed up with four other players for Horde, and I don't have the patience to wait ungodly lengths of time to get into a DM map. It's ludicrous.
Rant aside, I'm...
I feel like I should import my Mii just so I can be consistent across my consoles. :D
It's OK. Haven't had much of a chance to play with it as I just installed it this morning while I was getting ready for work. First glance, it reminds me of a glorified Media Center menu. I'm sure it'll...
I was gonna mention the same thing. The last system update for PSP tacked on a menu option for direct access to PSN. Considering how many PSPs are in existence, I'd say 14 mil ain't too impressive.
Played 4 thoroughly, and very much enjoyed it. Now I have 5/WaW, and I very much enjoy it as well. It's not the greatest game in the history of games, it's not groundbreaking, it's not original, and it's not a "must have", but it IS a lot of fun. I like the fact that they took some of the...
:p ^ = me, but sub TiVO for BR. I like to play my Xbox on the 51", but if the wife has a show on TiVO, I get banished. If I'm lucky enough to get the TV, I just find it much more comfortable to sit back 7-8 feet and kick the footrest up rather than having to be 2 feet from my monitor to see...
Ummm.....right. Contradictory much? MS makes money SELLING the games. It's highly probable that if you have a modded console you're not buying them, so how exactly are they making any money from that, and how exactly do they lose any by banning the console on which you're playing unpurchased...
You can probably find Crackdown in the bargain bin. Great sandbox game IMO, and I had mucho fun with co-op mode. It allows you both to independently explore the map so you aren't required to follow each other around.
I knew this was pretty much a rehash/mod of COD4, but I still bought it. Is it the second coming? Nope, it's not. Was I expecting it to be? Nope, I wasn't. I'm enjoying it for what I figured it was going to be.
What do I like about it? I like using Molotovs. I like using the...
Anyone know if pre-orders go into the sales numbers? If so, I'm thinking that might be a primary motivation for the game publishers. Having the ability to jack up your release day/first week sales figures greatly increases the chances that sheeple will view the game as something they must...
I don't see the real need to have the ability to kill the children in the game. Other than the "because I can" factor, what's the point? As stated before, nothing in this game is "realistic" in the first place.
Didn't get in the beta and I was looking forward to this game, so it's disappointing to see the majority taking a pass. Guess I might be a sheeple on this one and rent it first. Oh well, between Fallout 3 and Gears 2 my time it pretty well taken right now anyway.
Yup, and IMO he's cool as hell. Has his own theme music and everything. I use VATS a LOT and he's only shown up 4 times so far, but when he does there's no question about scoring a crit. Suckas be dead! I think you'll dig it.
Just got a 120 from Circuit City and it had the cable and disc, but I'm with you in that I dunno about the 60. Pretty easy migration, plug one end of the cable into the Xbox, the other into the new drive, pop the disc in, and wait about an hour. Done! New drive is ready to go with all of your...
It kicks in from the get-go, but you can only repair a weapon to the max of your skill level so if it's not damaged to that degree you can't do anything. Even the merchants have repair skill levels and are subject to this. So, it'll be a while before you're able to retore anything but the most...
Bad move to start in that manner since there's no certain way to tell what a character set is going to do and you may end up restoring your attempts before you've even used one. I usually choose at least two words and sometimes three before I start hunting for brackets. That way, if one of...
I dunno what the deal is, I carry about eight different guns at any point in time and I seem to keep gravitating toward the hunting rifle, the sniper, and the combat shotgun. However, I'm also quite fond of my explosives. Nothing like watching a mutant trigger a frag mine and turn into Kibbles...
Even a "pure" FPS like COD4 throws in an RPG element these days. Kill a lot of enemies and you level up.... hmmm, sounds familiar. Higher levels = cooler perks, better weapons, bigger match bonus, etc... hmmm, sounds familiar. The line between these genres is becoming increasingly blurred, so...
Between UPS and line conditioners, APC is my friend for all things electronic in my house. That includes my 360, which has been attached to a UPS for two years now without issue.
I haven't played the first two, I'm generally an FPS guy and stay far away from anything remotely RPG, and I'm playing it on the 360. Take all that, roll it into one big tidy ball, and after about 5 hours invested in the game I'm really enjoying it regardless of the fact that I've only received...
I think the functional aspects (Netflix downloads, HDD installs, 8 player chats, etc.) vastly outweigh the negative of the abominable appearance. Obviously I'm not a fan of the way it looks, but that's minor as long as all of the new bells and whistles work. I'm with KamelRed in that I don't...
Seriously.... 250 bucks? As Mike Tyson would say, "That's ludicrous!" (I can't type a lisp so you'll have to imagine it.)
If you are willing to pay as much or more for a freakin' game-specific controller as you do for the console, either you either have a ridiculous amount of...
Also keep in mind the Fall update will allow you to install and play games from the hard drive. If that appeals to you (like it does to about 99.6% of 360 owners), a 20GB drive ain't gonna do much for you in that area.
Yes, and you go through the same steps with the Wii in the console settings. If your school's SSID is being broadcast, the Wii should find it, and then you enter your assigned username and network key. That should get you connected.
OK, either this is a trick question or I'm missing something. From what you're saying, my guess is you enter your username and password and voila! If that's not what you're looking for, explain your dilemma better.
How the hell was anyone fooled into thinking this ambiguous garbage came from a human? And THREE of these "judges" bought it! Unbelievable. I think there was maybe one direct answer in the entire "conversation". Most of the responses had nothing whatsoever to do with the question that was...
GamerTag = Quasi Weasel
Mostly CoD4 and BF:BC right now. Occasionally Halo 3 and Mercs 2.
In a month you can add GoW2 and CoD:World at War to the list.
Jesus, the testosterone is starting to leak out of the monitor. Let's all tuck our penises back in, shall we?
So anyway, about the Chevy Volt...........
