I dunno, Best Buy has a lot of notebooks for under $600, they honestly beat the selection at Newegg. I have been looking at a Thinkpad (14.1", Core 2, 4GB, 4500mhd, 320gb). It is priced significantly less then what it would be on lenovo...

Sorry about that ... The best performance for the buck. Not looking for a netbook need the optical drive. Something sturdy, preferably 14.1" display but would go up to 15.6" depending. Also remember that build quality is important. Don't really mind 1+ inch thick.
