Well, maybe there is a silver lining to this. If they end up putting Thief 4 on Steam, whether it is good or not, they might decide to put the first and second ones up as well. Hopefully patched so they don't have horrid multicore issues.
I need to hear my games better because everyone around me likes to turn the volume up on everything as loud as they can. I need to hear my opponent's footsteps, or I will end up getting ganked.
Everyone here who hasn't listened to Coast to Coast before, do so. If you think a prank call with Gordon Freeman is the best that has been on the show, then boy are you in for a surprise.
*Note: As far as I know, the only person who has ever been kicked from the show Sylvia Brown.
Killing Floor is well worth $20, at $10 it is a must buy. The multiplayer is still quite active. However, don't really think KF = L4D. Honestly, I get more of a "Serious Sam" or "Painkiller" vibe from the actual gameplay of Killing Floor than I do "Left 4 Dead."
$17.50 for a hat?! $5 for a weapon? Screw that! Look at the prices in the store, freaking absurd. I predict this will at worst be the end of TF2, and at best end up like dynamic weapon pricing in CSS.
No idea, although I would hope so. Either way, while the patch is out, it is still quicker to just use it than to download darkplaces and the sound files seperately, even if it is only marginally so.
The patch for Quake 1 that I posted is Darkplaces with the soundtrack files already in.
My Steam copy is not happy if I enable the overlay. I get the same weird graphical glitches I get with Quake 3 and the overlay.
Right click on the game in your Steam window, and in the "General" tab there...
Ok, in order of game:
Quake 2: You have an AMD videocard. You need to get this file and place it in the games directory. Also, if you want to play GlQuake, I think you will also need to use that file. I know from personal experience that you will need it with Return to Castle Wolfenstein...
I'd be interested, if you haven't already given them out. While I do think the game a bit overrated, it gets major points for letting you shoot bees from your hands, whether that is an effective tactic or not.
