Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just upgraded to an i7 and Radeon 5870 this weekend. Bad Company 2 needed the upgrade. Big improvement over an e6400 and 8800 GTS. 4x AA is so much nicer than no AA.
Plus everything else is a bit more responsive in day-to-day use as well. Overall, worth the upgrade.
If you hooked up the two monitors to two separate cards, not in Crossfire, wouldn't that each card accelerate each display separately? Which would give more performance than a single card running both displays.
I use metabrowser for all of my video. It works great with TV shows and movies. It does depend heavily on folder naming, so be sure to get that right. This getting started guide has a good overview of how to label your folders so it picks up everything.
Getting Started
A heat pump still utilizes your normal furnace and condensing unit (the "A/C" you have outside your house with the fan). But as said, it can run "backwards"
In cooling mode for standard air conditioning and a heat pump, air is brought into the furnace from your house and passes over a metal...
B&H Photo is a well known camera store. They're an actual store in NY. B&H usually has competitive pricing with great customer service. If you call, someone from the actual store can help answer questions and give advice.

ESPN ScoreCenter.
TWC app is so much better than the standard weather.
Google Maps is always nice.
Shazam is useful for random radio songs.
Solebon is great, so many options of card games.
Fandango, just switched from Flixster, still not sure which one i like more.

Highly recommend the Canon options. Image stabilizer is fantastic. Have a few point and shoot Canons and multiple professional grade Canons (1d currently in use) and have been very impressed with all of them.
I'll second Cooler Master. They make some great inexpensive cases. I just bought the CM Elite for my server, it was very nice to work with.

I've been very impressed with my WD 640 Green. Not exactly the same, but close.
And a quick glance over newegg shows some of the lower ratings are due to the slower speeds of the drive, not really a huge deal in a backup drive.
OSX is a great os, I love my macbook. But it's such a premium to a lot of the other offerings concerning HTPC usage. It's hard to justify the extra money expense, or difficulties with a hackintosh, when a linux machine can do it just as well.
If you really want to stick with OSX, just try...
There really is no substitute for a HTPC. Some of the dedicated solutions such as the Popcorn Hour offer more convenience and ease of setup, but you have so many more options with a dedicated HTPC, especially when they're relatively easy to build for under $300.
I would recommend just building...
Agreed.
And on the graphics card question, [H] just did a review of the Radeon 4770. Lots of good info there. With the Radeon you have the advantage of a smaller die so it will use less power and create less heat. But, as you said, you have the advantage of a possible SLI later on with the...
Agree completely. I swear by my G7, and I'm an avid gamer. My scores in CoD/TF2/CS:S haven't been hurt by the wireless.
G7 is nice with the two battery packs, one runs out just swap the other in.
You could also rip the bluray with Anydyd. Then you could play the actual files themselves with Media player classic or convert to a more friendly format. Downside is you dont get the menu, but you don't need the disc to watch. Just another option.
There is also an ATI driver for HDMI. I had to install that to get mine to work. And as was said before, make sure to select the correct device in the playback tab.
That passive card works great. Just got one myself and stuck it in my server/htpc. Works well with Media Player Classic HC offloading to the GPU.
Might as well give it a shot. That P4 definitely wont play 1080 by itself, but should be ok if you offload to the gpu. Also, if you want to go...
