UPDATE: I returned the S2715 to NewEgg, they credited me the full purchase price and even paid return shipping which was nice. I ordered the U2515h (Amazon) and have used for about a week. Much better, great bump in resolution but not so much that I have trouble viewing windows and text that...
No, mac mini 2012 (HD 4000 intel graphics) using the thunderbolt port (mini display port). Just got back from a trip and checked the uniformity just now. Seems to be pretty good, but I'll bet if I used a meter it would show something. I don't see anything obvious as other have. I am very...
Whats the best way/image to check for uniformity? I just received the u2515 today and cal'd it using the color cal tool in OS X and tried the lagon site. Mine looks quite good but still need to give it a once over. I really love the ease with which it cranks out the lumens. And I didnt need...
I ended up returning the S2715 and ordered a U2515. I looked into running the script but didnt work and gave up. Hopefully the mDP connection will allow the full RGB range and no other issues. Looking forward to the extra resolution and will likely need to adjust to everything being scaled...
Can anyone here confirm that this monitor has no issues displaying the full rgb range with a 2012 Mac mini? (HD4000 graphics with mDP cable) I had to return the S2715 (1080p) due to it having only Hdmi input and Mac detecting it as a "television" 16-235 range.
I have the S2715h and yes it's nice, love the slim bezel design. But in my case I'm using a mac mini to drive it. Used HDMI at first but it's not as good as VGA. I have the mDP-VGA adapter. I realize the mac detects it as a "TV" and the intel graphics goes into 16-235 mode, so not full 8-bit...
Has anyone successfully run a mac mini (2012 w/ mavericks) with this display? I've looked thru some of the posts on apple discussion boards and there are complaints that when their machine comes out of hibernation the display doesn't come to life. Reconnecting the video cable fixes the...
I have a mac mini (mini DP) and a win7 box (dvi). I need to switch between the two machines. What monitor would you recommend?
I've been looking at the Qnix QX2710 (with DP) and Crossover 27QW, but also the Green ITC A-MVA monitor.
It's this model .... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119089 and it comes in the original box. It was lightly used, in like new condition. Asking $35. I'm located in zip code 80919.
I have a Cooler Master 541 mATX case for sale, if anyone's interested. Lightly used in original box. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119089
I've got a Cooler Master Centurion 541 that has good air flow. And it's for sale. Hardly used.

No, I havent used an SSD before - that's why I'm asking. I was ready to buy one and started to read up, got cold feet. But you're giving me some confidence. I want to get a small capacity to install OS/apps and keep my WD green hdd for data storage. I was looking at Kingston SSDs but the 8G got...
Anand's site and Toms hardware. But maybe I was reading year-old articles. You tell me - are SSDs really reliable? I know the enterprise (expensive) ones are better. They use SLC flash parts. But the consumer grade use MLC which are more prone to have stuck bits from being rewritten too many...
Homer, I tend to agree but the more reviews/articles I read on SSD, the more nervous I get. If the OS writes alot, the SSD gets slower (HDD does too) at first but after a few months or a yr, the SSD will fail permanently. Bits get stuck. At least a HDD can be rewritten to a known clean state...
I recently bought a SFF case (Foxconn D10-G3) which has an ITX mobo, VGA only. I want to add my pci-e 8400gs fanless card. When I tried, I had already changed the bios to onboard graphics, but when I boot the pci-e card is automatically enabled and the video is really bad. I hit DEL to get...
That's exactly what I intend to do.
Yes, of course, I have backed up the D partition. I just wanted to make sure a reinstall of C doesnt touch the D drive. I dont want to spend time reloading my data from the backup drive. Also I want to reinforce my understanding of drive partitioning and its...
I have a drive that is partitioned into C and D, and intend to overwrite the C partition completely. The machine had previously been thru a virus/trojan attack that I already did a "repair" with the system disk that I created a new system folder called "WinXP". The "Windows" system folder is...
When I uninstalled mbam, I got a message saying it couldnt uninstall everything - that I had to manually delete the rest. Well I couldnt find any evidence of mbam in the programs folder, desktop, etc. So did the rename of the installer to winlogon.exe and when it tried to install, there was an...
I think I hv something similar on my PC. But I'm not sure what you mean by all the renaming of the setup executables. Can you pls explain? Sounds like you're renaming twice.
Yes, I realize that would be best, but I want to avoid touching the data on the D drive. Seems that people are reporting Win7 takes up ~10GB of space after a fresh install, which will allow me to do the reallocation of the C drive. Maybe that "10GB" is for a x32 Home version. IDK.
Why 100GB? Seems like a lot of wasted space for me. The only other disk-consuming apps will be MS Office. So, 25GB should be more than enough - right? Or am I missing something?
OK, so can I install Win7 (no other apps) and get into the disk management tools to reallocate some of my free space on the D drive to make the C drive bigger?
I currently run WinXP from a C partition that is 15GB in size (D uses the rest of the 640GB drive). I'd like to do a clean install of Win7 Ultimate in the C partition. Can it be done, do you think there's enough room? Are there any options to choose NOT to install items (to save space) during...
Is it also true that the HDHR does NOT tune NTSC (analog) cable channels? I think people want a single device (plug-in card or external box) that gives us NTSC and the few QAM channels that's on cable tv. Oh, and tune ntsc/qam within either MCE2005 or Vista Media Center and have a DVR to boot...
Graphedit is very useful. I will have to look at it again tonite since I didn't see any extra processing on the audio stream for my vob files. The vob file goes thru a Nero splitter, then AC3filter, and out to the final stage. I also ran MS Decoder Check and found that I have Nvidia Purevideo...
This is similar to a question/problem I have. I have purevideo and ac3filter installed. If I run a DVD in MCE, the video fills the screen but my receiver does not get a Dolby Digital audio stream. The I close MCE and play the same DVD in WMP11, I get the Dolby Digital audio but the video does...
