Currently running an overclocked 8700K (4.9ghz) with a 1080Ti mainly used for 1080p gaming. Was thinking of passing the 8700K down to my son, as his system needs an upgrade and this would give me an excuse to upgrade. Would a 12600K provide much of a boost compared to the overclocked 8700K?

Upgrading from an overclocked 8086K to a 9900K seems like a complete waste of money to me. What kind workload are you running OP to justify that?

I really want to get it, but find COD gameplay seems to be getting faster and faster. Getting old with lower reaction time sucks.

I saw that and reached out to EVGA (with the card serial number) to make sure they would honor the warranty. They confirmed it and I've already registered the card on the EVGA site.
