After watching your vid, i went and downloaded me a copy of it. Thinking that I would get no where near the installation time that you got I was pleasantly suprised when from (Boot from USB, it ran Windows 7 setup) to the time i was on my desktop was just over 11 minutes.
One thing I did...
Sorry for the delay in pics (and quality). Here are some preliminary ones after everything was squeezed into the system. (note that one of the HD's is dead, thus the open HD spot.. :( ) Also after the pic's were taken I exchanged out the flat IDE cable with a rounded one.. much better fit...
A little update: one of the HD's was doa...
Good news though is that everything powers up and has been running now for a good solid 5 hours (while I setup GameEx - very config intensive setup)..
The psu brick is barely warm. Windows is running nicely, and I am currently ripping my first...
Bought it from eWiz.com, but after looking at their site looks like they no longer have it in stock.
A good site for Mini-Itx and I think they still have the cases in stock is http://www.logicsupply.com
Thx Dversus...
Actually had all but the Slim DVD/CDrom... need that to re-install the Mobo Software as it is a DVDrom install CD...
At the time I just copied what I thought was the setup files, but apparently mis-copied the audio setup.. right now no audio due to it.
Here are the wattage rundown
AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core BE-2400: 45w http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUFilter.aspx
NC62K: Can't find specific Watt use. Lets say at least 65 watt
ST3250310AS:
Power Requirement Idle (Ready) 0.8Watts
Power Requirement Spin Up (Max) 2.0Watts (x4 =...
Seems everyone is hounding me on my drive purchase... ease up you rich folks.. ;)
Sure I would love to have 4x1tb drives or even 500g drives but I put myself on a strict budget for this machine at this time. Eventually - yes I'll be getting bigger drives, and at that time i'll rotate the...
I don't have that many DVD's nor will most likely buy a ton of them. After guestimating my current DVD collection (approx 24) and my at most 2 dvd purchase per year.. I'll be set for sometime. I'll be using up approx 120g of that 750g (approx)space with a raw rip anyways...
If in the...
The only issue I have seen with the Win2k3 driver installation is I apparently didn't copy all the audio setup folders for the install. From time to time after reboot it says it found a new hardware device (audio) and needs the disk.
Outside of that I am suprised how well the 8200 runs...
Hello all.
Today will recieve the last of my HTPC/File Server hardware, and Pics will follow.
Just a quick rundown of hardware:

Mobo: JetWay JNC62K AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200...
I've bought basically the same as you did above.
Ordered the mobo, cpu, memory, drives last night. Should get them in 2 days.
Going to use it primarily for DVD playback, Game emulator, etc. So i can free up some space in my AV cabinet next to my TV.
Very nice indeed.. Good job on the build.. looks nice..
On a side note if you are ever interested in making a SAN outta that beast... you can try
Openfiler: http://www.openfiler.com/
It is a free SAN OS.
Now I am interested in building one for myself. If for anything else as a...
Hello all...
Not sure if this would suffice as a "SFF" post, but regardless the following I found to be quite nice for either a SAN/NAS box or general File Server setup

Thanks for the replies everyone. Came across this KDM PS-M6480H 480W which thus far is perfect for my rig setup.
It has just enough plugins for my 1x CD/DVD, 1x HD, 120mm Fan, X1900XT and the front panel 6pin connector. The only downside is that due to it's size (about 3/4th the...
I currently have an Apevia X-Qpack Blue Micro ATX Tower and am looking for a compatable 500w+ ps for it. After googling for a while I found some SFF ATX Power supplies that meet the dimensions that I need (i.e. about 3/4th the length of a standard ATX PS) but are only rated at most 300-400w...
Make sure he has the latest Bios.
My 940 I installed on my ECS shown the same 19c and I was like WTH? The Bios said it can handle the cpu, but after updating the bios the temps were at 38c +/-(idle) and 45c+/- under heavy game loads. Which I think 38c +/- is normal for idle temp for the D...
My most recent ECS (in sig) has only had two issues that I didn't / don't like. I had another ECS (one with both PCIe and PCiexpress slot) and never had a problem with that one.
1. OC'ing has it's limits on this board, compared to others
2. Even with latest drivers I get random reboots...
Currently my only grief I have with the whole "which physics way will win"
arguments is that until Developers comes out with products that showcase
what ATI/nVidia/Physx offers we all will not know which is "king of the physics" so to speak.
Granted CellFactor will be released sometime and...
When the initial slew of Conroe reviews hit the web, I was like many and started reading them to get an idea of how it did on current games, apps, etc.
One major thing I found that was quite dissapointing to me from the reviewers was that the majority of the reviews used pre-made systems...
The main reason I started reading SOLELY [H]ardOcp reviews is for one main thing. Reviews are done by gamers FOR gamers. And I can't agree more that other sites with their "canned benchmarks" tend to run those bench's at resolutions that I don't use - nor have a use for so for me being a...
That's a very nice little program. I tried out the "Build a wall" (the one that if you hit the "M" key twice it demolish's the wall. and doing that approx 80+ times my system came to a crawl - fps went to .01 or such then my system rebooted.. :D I think I gave it waaay to muchto process...
I understand where u are coming from due to FDIC and State regulations concerning uptime for a banks computer systems and all that entails with it. (I am an IT manager for a 5 branch bank in Iowa and know what has to be done to be compliant with the FDIC/State it's a pain as new ways of...
I am an IT Manager for a bank with 75 pc's 2 windows2k servers/sbs2000 and with 600 pc's I would go the route of Citrix and making the machines thin clients like stated before in this thread.
Trust me, managing 75 stand alone win2k box's is a pain in the butt with just making sure that all...
My newest score on 3dmark05 with my new processor clocked at the highest I could get before it would reboot on windows startup is as follows:
3dMark05 score: 9234 (avg of 3 runs)
ATI Catalyst driver 6.6
Intel Pentium D 940 presler OC'd to 3.356ghz
X1900XT @ 648/747
Air cooled system...
Got the problem figured out.
Just for shiot and giggles I reapplied thermal past and made sure it had excellent coverage. Then proceeded to reapply the latest bios flash for my mobo.
it fixed my problems
The temps are looking correct now in Hmonitor and Speedfan where my cpu is...
I agree that is a large setting at first, but thinking that my 540 handled that fine.... :p
After it had issues keeping windows running I then tried 201-205 which worked fine no rebooting, so I then tried setting it to 206+ and the reboot problem happened again.
I think I am going to...
I recently upgraded my CPU from a P 540 prescott to an Intel P 940 presler and am having trouble oc'ing this bad boy.
Currently I am using this CPU fan http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1482306&CatId=1588
and from what the BIOS system temps are...
Just installed my new cpu [Intel Pentium D 940 3.2ghz]
Ran 3dmark05 with no overclocking of anything got 8936.
Huge difference compared to previous runs.
Long 14 hour day at work. I'll do some oc'ing on my fsb/cpu/gpu and see if I can break the 10k barrier with my setup. :D
Depending on your system, use Speedfan. It is a nice little util that will grab all the sensors (including HD if it supports). and show you current temps..
I was asking just to make sure though.
As on a previous mobo i had from ECS the manual stated that it could handle a different processor, but when i flashed the bios so that it would, the processor wouldn't work, (and the Intel at the time was a good one as it worked fine in a DFI mobo...
After sending an email to ECS and after no response, I thought I would ask the [H]-Gawds in these 733t forums.
I currently have an ECS PA1 MVP Extreme Intel mobo and was wondering if anyone else is using this mobo if an Intel Pentium D 940 3.2 processor works with it? I am pretty sure it is...
The past two hours were an utter waste of my time (no pun :D ).
Borrowed an old unused 17" crt monitor from a friend, installed my old X800XT pcie card into my extra pcie slot. Booted windows, then continued to not figure out a damn thing on how to setup CCC to make the three screens "seem...
I worded that wrong.
What I meant to say is that, is there anyone who has an SLI or Xfire setup and have 3 monitors tried to turn off sli/Xfire and see if they could setup three monitors so that windows "sees only one" in properties when they "stretched" their desktop.
Friends have...
