Thanks for the input, tried to pick up a second card from Frys but they were out of stock. Trying to buy local since I want to see how loud SLI is in case I want an easy return, lol.
I did use a PSU calculator, but I'd like to get some outside opinions on this.
Here's my PC:

I've been running my Q6600 at 3GHZ stock voltage for 2.5 years now. I do use a Thermalright Ultra-120 True Black with a 49cfm Scythe fan (very quiet), but it's the easiest overclock I've ever done and runs 4 instances of prime95 for 24 hours with no errors. You should be able to get 3GHZ...
I averaged 247ms. I am on a 3007wfp-hc and a wireless mouse (mx revolution). Not sure if that makes a difference.
The more I try it the lower I can get. Just averaged 209ms.
The brightness you prefer your monitor at will depend on how bright the room you use it in is, and how sensitive you are to bright light. In college I would run the samsung 193p I had at the time at 60-80% brightness in my apartment. But at home 30-50% was as bright as I could handle.
I run...
I had an NEC 20WMGX^2 for a month or so. A few of them actually since they all had varying defects that I couldn't get over. At the end of the day the biggest problem was the insanely small size. Ended up settling on a 2407WFP for a couple of years as it had an excellent quality/size ratio...
I have an 8G Elite 50"er (1150HD). I didn't consider the 9G models worth the cost of upgrading after only a year, and now my dreams of a 10G model are dashed. This is so horrible. Pioneer plasmas are gorgeous sets. I can only hope panasonic releases an ECC display in the next year. But...
He either sits far or has worse than 20/20 vision. I'm fairly close to my 3007, and text is perfect if I have my glasses on. With my contacts it depends on how dried out they are. My guess for my seating distance (eyes to screen) is 2.5-3ft depending on the position of my chair (how far I'm...
I don't really find the coating to be objectionable at all. It is more pronounced on my 3007WFP-HC (2nd one came with no pixel issues, huzzah!) than on my 2407WFP, but not a big deal. For some reason it looks the same on every ips based monitor I've ever seen. Whether it be an Apple, NEC...
My brother has a 28 Hannspree. It would be unusable if I didn't calibrate both in the monitor and in software with my i1 display lt. It has less backlight bleed than my 3007WFP. Though way more than my 2407WFP which has none. It's very nice for the money if you have the tools to set it up...
For 2200 you could get a Samsung 52A650/750 or a Sony 52XBR6/W4100 if you look in the right places.
You will still have issues with backlight bleed, motion blur, and narrow viewing angles.
If you liked the uncalibrated atrocious color of the 3008WFP, then a TV should look fine in the awful...
Damn. My step-up period ended yesterday and I forget to get the 285 or 295. I paid 440 for my 280 so if they took the invoice price it would have no cost me much for the 295 :(. Oh well.

I like that psu calculator. It should tell you if your psu is good enough.
I actually replaced my asus maximus formula with the GB P45-DS4P. Not sure if that was a downgrade, but the maximus formula was very unstable for me. Though it got much...
In a dark room the glossy lcds don't have blacker blacks than any other equivalent lcd. For example, the samsung 71 series isn't any better at producing black in a dark room than the sony xbr4 series is.
My EVGA 8800GTS w/ Crysis should be here tomorrow, can't wait to finally be able to run current games reasonably well. My x1800xl is really getting long in the tooth after two long years.
My spyder2pro makes my 2407wfp look a lot better (it raped my old samsung 193p and made it look just awful, adjusting RGB on the gpu drivers with the spyder2's help yielded much better results on that monitor). Just calibrating the monitor for a neutral white doesn't help me since I prefer to...
Agreed. I used to think my 24"er was huge and maybe a little too big for comfortable gaming. But now I think a 30"er would be too small and crave something in the 37-40" range, lol.
My brother has had this monitor since it came out, and just recently he noticed that on solid colors his recycle bin is still visible. When you start xp you can see the recycle bin on the welcome screen. Or when he watches a dvd you can see it in the black bar. So you aren't alone in this...
My 2407 isn't perfectly horizontal either. Of the 30+ lcds I have owned quite a few actually had that problem. Since mine had no stuck/dead pixels I just took quite a few sheets of black construction paper, folded them in half, cut them to fit under the right foot, and shoved them under. You...
I on the other hand absolutely despise the glossy screens for any purpose other than gaming or watching movies/videos in total darkness. When I had the 20" NEC it looks great, but the glossy screen was really annoying. With any ambient light in my room at all, I could see my reflection in any...
Looks the same on my nec 791sb as it does on my dell 2407wfp, samsung 193p/172t/910t. Can't test the 2001fp until tomorrow since that monitor is in someone else's bedroom. Maybe tinker with the brightness/contrast/gamma on the monitor and your videocard software until you get a better result?
If the 244t is too much, maybe try for an A03 2407wfp. I too have an A02, but I only use photoshop to resize wallpapers and make very small changes, so for me the banding isn't a problem. But I can see why it would be for you. I am always checking things on other monitors to see if it is the...
2009 doesn't mean anything more has to be in HD. It just means that all channels (including 4:3 SD) will no longer be broadcast ota in analog. All the channels will have to be digital then. This doesn't really affect ppl who currently have cable, sat, or fios.
I have no backlight bleed on my 2407wfp. However, the backlight is brighter on the left than on the right, so it's not as uniform as it could be. This is not unique to the dell though. Every monitor that uses this panel (including the Eizo and Samsung) have the issue with backlight...
In terms of pure image quality I prefer this 23" s-ips panel to the 24" s-pva from samsung. The brightness was more than enough for me, and there's just something about s-ips when it comes to colors and crispness that pva and tn panels seem to lack for me. However, I went through 2 HP L2335s...
I thought that the brightness on the Sony 23"er was more than enough (if that's the one you're talking about). I tried two of them but returned both for many many stuck/dead pixels and backlightling so bad that I just have to assume that both were defective panels. But, I find that my 2407wfp...
Well, according to some of the pictures from the Dell Thread, a guy has some of his A02 and A03 side by side. The vertical banding on the A03 is completely gone. I think I will return my A02 to Costco sometime this week (gotta get the box out of the attic, ugh) and start trying for an A03, or...
I'm going to assume that the 2007fp s-pva variant uses the same panel as the Samsung 204t. I had a 204t for awhile and I liked it a lot more than my brother's 2001fp. But the contrast shift issue with pva/mva panels doesn't bug me at all as long as I tuned it to not crush blacks from head on.
I don't think so. I think that they just use a different/better dithering technique to get to 16.7m like they did on the 970p. Has anyone proven it was 8bits? The 16.7 number can't always be trusted.
I am 99.9% sure that it's a TN panel too. It has the exact same stats as other samsung TN panels such as the CR>5 @160. That's pretty much a tell tale sign of TN from samsung. All of there pva and s-pva panels list 170 to 178 degrees. Also, 6bit with dithering is now being rated at 16.7mil...
Did it cause burn-in after a long time and just became permanent the other day? It's not really possible to burn a plasma in one day. Temporary image retention is not the same as burn-in and usually goes away after watching a channel with no static images for 15 or so minutes (longer if the...
