I want to get a DFI Ultra-D mobo latest revision possible (AD0). I will either buy it or i have a PC Power and Cooling 510 watt (non-sli) PSU available for trade. Will buy/trade quickly, i just got an opteron 165 CCB1E 0609FPMW from Monarch and my Asrock mobo is holding me back.
Yes i've noticed the voltage fluctuation also and i beleive that it is hindering my overclock. I guess thats what happens when the board doesnt have any voltage regulation . But back on topic just brought the chip up to 2.75 no errors, seems to be getting stronger the more i burn it in.
I just got this chip today also...still testing it as of right now, but im running at 2.7 Ghz 1.45 volts right now getting a little hot. Gonna get some more cooling on it and see how it goes, possibly even take the IHS off anyone know where to find a good guide on take it off? Also, I am using a...
Ok so you are right it'll do 2.9Ghz max at 1.55 volts. You forced me to change chips and test out the 146 with the new PSU and voltage mod. Still tho 2.9 is damn good out of a 2.0 Ghz stock chip :p BTW i appreciate your guide on overclocking Eclipse, i was away from computers/overclocking for...
im using an Asrock DualSata Motherboard and the voltage only goes up to 1.45 on it the highest i got stable was 2.83 and that was also hindered by my power supply
CPU-Z Link to 2.83
I know have an X2 4400 and new power supply along with the vcore mod for the Asrock board and have not tried...
I am actually selling one in the For Sale/Trade Forum here:
Opteron 146
Will do 3.0+ Ghz with good mobo/cooling, had mine in an Asrock mobo (not very good for overclocking) and a Ninja heatsink and 120mm medium speed fan running 2.75 Ghz with 1.45 volts
Opteron 146 CAB2E 0604EPAW up for grabs here. Awesome chip, had it running at 2.75 Ghz at 1.45 volts for about 2 months. Since then i've upgraded to an X2 4400 (Its was a tough choice which chip to keep since i can only get the X2 to run at about 2.5 Ghz) Anyway this chip will probaly easily do...
well i did the vcore mod and now im running 1.5 volts to it and have it running stable at 2.6 which im happy with. Probaly would do 2.7 but im comfortable right here. Thanks for all the input guys.
P.S. be on the look out in the for sale/trade forum for the opteron 146 i'll be selling :)
Thanks guys. I'm going to try the Vcore mod for this motherboard to get 1.55 volts to the chip. I think im set, I'll let you know what i reach after i do the mod.
Thanks for your reply. Well my temps are 41c idle and 48c load in a warm room about 78 degrees. But i heard that voltage flucuation will freeze up the computer. I might just bite the bullet and get a real mans motherboard like one of the DFI's, since i have an OCZ 600w Powerstream coming in...
anyone have any input? do those voltages look normal to you, arent they on the high side? Would that make a difference in the stability of the computer?
This is my voltage values for the X2 4400 system, i forgot to mention the power supply. It's a PC Power and Cooling 510 non-sli and is about 3+ years old. When i do the PSU calculator it says my computer should have a PSU that can push about 630 watts.
PCP&C Power Supply 510 watt 3+ years old...
The Opteron 146 (cab2e 0604epaw) runs on my Asrock 939dual sata mobo at a max of 2.75GHz on roughly 1.48 volts (bad voltage regulation on this motherboard. I set it at the max of 1.45 and it fluctuates anywhere from 1.47 to 1.50). Reports of people constantly reaching 3+ GHz with this chip at or...
i've been reading a bunch of articles this past week on how they are shortages of these mem chips and they will be on the rise for a couple weeks at least, and just two weeks ago the muskin was $170 on newegg and now its $190+ but dont matter either way its still a good deal on great RAM.
yeah still got it and it is still up for grabs. I also have another set of Mushkin RAM for sale also, here's the link let me know if you want either.
Mushkin
I have up for sale a set of Mushkin XP series DDR-500 RAM with timings of 3-4-3-8 will do at least 260 at those timings and upwards of 275 at 3-4-4-8 if not more since i am running an asrock mobo with limited ram timings. VERY GOOD memory, likes low voltage 2.6-2.8v.

I've got two sticks of OCZ Gold RAM available for sale, they run at 2-3-3-6 at stock timings, never overclocked so dont know how high they will go.
