I would have said the slightly later ones were better, at least for crossfire. The MSI had issues for me with idle clocks.

Hang in there, I can't say why your score is low. I've seen quite a few 5870 at stock pull around 16/17K Vantage P. My crossfired pair get over 25K @ 900/1250 with an i7 at 4GHz. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1457699. Like I said, I had major issues coming from an X2, took me loads...
Given the 5870 is more or less 2x 4890 memory bandwidth aside, the 4870X2 with its crossfire overheads should not be that far ahead if at all. The 5870 should more like a 4870X2 at 850, which is more than can be said for it at moment. Wait for better drivers and make sure you performance is...
Its on water, temps don't change much if at all. It did quite well on stock 860/1000 easily. I haven't bothered looking for more tbh. Just wanted to see if it worked.
On a referance X2, I added a few voltages to a batch file for desktop selection. Obviously use your own value, path ect, works...
I'm not sure it is dual channel with 4 sticks. The memory configuration is kinda odd, 4 sticks gives tri-channel. So you can't double up for dual channel or tri (obviously)
Also is doesn't appear to support SLi, CrossFireX only as far as I can see.
There's a vanilla P6T due any time...
I can help with that one, the uncore MUST be set to twice or more than the memory multiplier. It won't like dropping below x16 on the uncore with a x8 memory multi.
I get the exact same thing with a 4870X2. Lowering the settings does little for the fps, and the zooming bug is damn annoying. Mine is at 830/970 with a QX9650@4Ghz and it holds a good 40/45fps (DX9) at 1920x1200 2AA on Enthusiast settings. Try using a scope and it drops to 15/20 fps and stays...
I must of tried a half dozen combinations before it stuck. I knew something was going on as it was reading the fan speed well enough, just grayed out. I'm sure its not make specific, I've seen all different makes work straight off and others start working after pissing about with it. Very odd.
Mine wouldn't work at first, just hung at the fan control. Takes a bit of messing around to get it to work. But its not the make or drivers that has any effect on it.
This explains it best, but it worked for me on Vista64 Sapphire on 8.54 & 8.52
Just saw my first eurozone price, that's over $900 converted, not that the US would pay that of course. But damn that's a lot of money, hope its cheaper on the day.
The TDP is just shy of 240W, the actual usage would be lower. Maybe around 200W/16A @12v
Its a Thermaltake Ultra 120, push/pull. Fan on either side.
No tec, its 12hr prime at 3.8GHz 1.57v. It would prime at 4GHz, but I dont fancy leaving it at that voltage for more than a few benches. The GTS fan at 100% does quite well, noisy though. But yeah it does 850, although I found the...

It'll have extra texture TMU as well, they're part of the 8th shader cluster. It will also have the same number of ROPS because of the 4x64bit memory channels, with the same amount of vram. It'll will behave exactly like the GT, just a bit quicker. Same limitations at high res.
