I've had this happen to me before it was the power supply not providing enough voltage during peak loads. It could be the power supply is over-heating when it's loaded for so long that it shuts down.
If you're suspecting power issues with your apartment, may I suggest a battery backup...
My condo, this is a cabinet located in my entrance closet, the house was originally wired for VOIP but I re-wired all the CAT5 Keystones to 568A and crimped the ends so I can connect to my router.
I wish all houses have cabinets like this, makes things a lot cleaner, there's a hole in the...
Well backing up your important data is always the smart thing to do. Is data recovery on mechanical drives actually affordable now?
In my experience I've seen a lot more mechanical drives fail than SSD's in my days, I would personally have more faith in SSD if I did not have any backup...
I just tried using Easeus to clone my 240 GB SSD > 500 GB SSD and it worked!
Afterwards I used http://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html to move partitions and expand to get the full usable size. In total took me less than 30 mins!
A lot less painful than I thought, I'm just...
There's always some sort of flickering glitches etc, when starting games closing games, anything 3D, that's the life.
I wouldn't worry unless you see issues while it's rendering.
I had the same issue with just 2x1440p panels, and I ended up just buying a different video card. Looks like the 2D profile doesn't clock high enough and as a result you get underflow corruption. I had a R9-290X, with 2x1080p no issues at all, once I upgraded the panels it didn't provide...
In my opinion just get a 1TB SSD and dump your secondary drive.
You have higher capacity than what you have now and everything will be FAST FAST FAST! Game load times especially :)
Hi Guys,
I tried doing a quick Google search and couldn't find anything.
I saw that the Logitech Orion Spark has this side app you can put on your phone, which acts like a shortcut or basically the "LCD" screen in their old school G-Series keyboards.
I wonder if any 3rd party has made a...
Funny thing I noticed, the touch sensitive button would randomly come on and off, after some investigation it turns out to be the plugs I'm using in my surge protector.
I switched to these "always on" ports and the issue seemed to stop. I noticed similar reports where users had to use isolated...
Hi Everyone, I'm looking for some thoughts and opinions on a multiple SSD configuration, or possibly just going with a single bigger SSD.
With BlackFriday deals going on, I have the option to buy some larger 500 GB drives or a bunch of 250 GB drives.
I have a Z77 motherboard and it supports...
Thanks for the reply you have been very helpful!
The actual Gigabyte card I have has the same back-plate and a non-LED version of the Windforce cooler, I have a feeling this card didn't pass the "binning" process and they flashed with a nerfed VBIOS.
Interesting point on the memory I never...
Hi, what drivers and OS are you using? When you're browsing/sitting in Windows Desktop is your 290X clocks at 300/150?
When I was using 2x2560x1440 on DVI+DP, Windows 10 and release Catalyst drivers, I was getting terrible underflow corruption.
I understand DP is a new standard, it has many benefits, and on *paper* it's absolutely superior in every aspect. However, until all vendors -> GPU / cables / displays get aligned and have a well working end-to-end solution I can't see why staying with DVI is an issue.
In fact I find HDMI to...
Interesting, I am at least fortunate with HDMI, I have 2x TV's that use only HDMI through my HD 6970's and they work perfectly fine, which I'm quite happy with. Just when the display configurations get a bit complicated things start to go wonky for me.
I can't tell if you hate or love DP. I have no issues with the idea behind DP just that it doesn't work well 100% of the time, whereas I feel DVI just works. My panels have DP/DVI/HDMI/VGA, so I can always migrate over when needed, I just don't feel like now is the time.
I used to do...
This is a mini rant, and I am definitely not hating, this is with reason but I wanted to share my experience with fellow enthusiasts. I have always favoured the underdog, I've been using AMD graphics for 14+ years - Radeon 8500/HD 5770/HD 5870/HD 6970/HD 6990/R9 290X.
Of course I have used...
Is the banding most noticeable with a solid gray background?
I have recently bought 2x BenQ's and I have read about the banding issues in a few places, but honestly I haven't noticed it in my panels yet, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
Both of mine were manufactured July 2015.
So far...
Thanks! I read through the Gigabyte G1 Gaming review and Kyle explained it pretty thoroughly in there, but MSI Afterburner has been working and it's stable so I don't want to mess around for now :)
I really wished my card would give me a bigger Power Limit, I seem to be maxing my card out at...
Coil whine - when I used to work at a GPU company, the engineer's kinda explained it to me, where certain components are sensitive to noise feedback, and when the components hit a specific frequency due to load/power draw these components will exhibit the "coil whine". Additionally he also told...
I recently purchased 2x of these from Canada Computers retail store, in Canada of course :)
What's the best way for me to see this "banding" that everyone is talking about? I've already seen some videos and people complaining about the anti-ghosting feature to cause crazy flickering.
My...
I recently bought this card because it seems to be the best value and has the one particular feature that I'm looking for - 2x DVI!
Couple of questions being a newbie Nvidia owner, I have been using AMD for the past 8+ years.
-This card uses 2x 8 pin PCI-E power connectors compared to 6+8...
This is the actual card I bought: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5560#ov
I noticed on the website it says there's a "OC Mode" and "Gaming Mode", how would I unlock these profiles, or does MSI Afterburner already over-rides this?
I'll have a look at your thread, thanks!
Hi Friends,
It's been a long time since I tried overclocking video cards! Due to some disappointing issues and limitations with my old R9 290X I switched over.
I couldn't find any good comprehensive guide to over-clocking my card, I've gotten as far as using the MSI Afterburner and using...
Most likely because they are on AMD's Never Settle bundle? Either way I'm happy to see improvements, it's always important not to forget old titles and not only concentrate on new ones :)
I've been playing League of Legends and Diablo 3 for quite some time, I would definitely like more FPS...
The panel does 48 Hz actually, and I believe it's an Intel hardware limitation. Because the video output is handled by the IGP I don't believe it has enough bandwidth to output 4K@60 Hz.
Honestly, I've played a few games and watched some videos of FPS @ 48 Hz and it's completely acceptable...
Just wanted to share my first gaming laptop purchase! For the longest time I've been holding back on buying ultra-books/gaming laptops in general, as I don't see the point in dropping $1000 for a ultra book that's just powerful enough to do some daily computing and no gaming.
Finally, Lenovo...
