I have 4 of these 3TB Reds in a RAID 5 QNAP TS-469-Pro, and they easily saturate line speed. They are meant for NAS enclosures, so top SATA speeds aren't really the issue, since you will only ever get ~120MB/s line speed on gigabit enclosures.
The BIGGEST thing with these drives, is that...
How is this different from every Madden game ever released? Normally, that wouldn't mean much on its own, but EA, the world's largest publisher, has claimed that's their biggest seller. Do the math.
Both modding and modchips are illegal in the states (not counting case modifications).
"One of the functions of many modchipsthe circumvention of copy protection mechanismsis outlawed by many countries' copyright laws such as the DMCA in the USA, the EUCD and its various implementations by...
This is just based on what they can publicly find. These types of numbers are completely useless and keep getting trotted out by everyone and their dog about how google+ sucks. If you're like me, and make no public posts EVER, they would just think I don't use it. However, I have thousands of...
Google+ PUBLIC POSTS are down 41%...no one knows the actual site usage yet as those numbers haven't been made public.
If you're like me, you NEVER post anything public. I only post to my friends circle, so an article like this would only notice that I have not made a public post in months...
I know this is an old thread, but it came up in google when searching for this issue.
I had a VMware Virtual Center Server Service that would not start. I got the same errors as above with netstat saying PID 4 / System was using port 80.
It wound up being Windows Remote Management that...
Uh yeah...put J Allard at the top. He is the only man that has the vision to bring MS out of the dump. The Courier, the Xbox, the Zune, etc.
If the Courier had actually come out, the iPad wouldn't be where it is today.
They are not saying it's ahead of its time technologically or feature wise, they're essentially saying that it was RELEASED ahead of it's time. Basically that this version one is not the one to buy and there is no real market for a device like this yet. When version 2 comes out, it will have...
They are NOT working on "crushing" the apple tablet. I'm sure the two are taking very different approaches. The Apple tablet will be very media centric, while the Google tablet will be very connection/work centric. The two have very different goals.
Well Plano really. I thought they were dead and gone? Apparently not. I just saw a CompUSA in Plano across the street from Fry's.

Also, they don't look like they are ass-reaming like they used to. There are some pretty...
It really does have SEVERAL show stopping bugs. This should have never been released.

Go through all 20 some odd pages. It's quite humorous.
The bottom line here is that Apple would have NEVER done this.
Anyone remember the kid with the signed Xbox that sent it off for RRoD repair and it came back clean? Remember how MS came through on that one? It's a hell of a read if you don't...
The new Batman DLC will be free, and Valve's previous stuff was free, and there's free shit all the time on XBL. If I were MS, I would come out and call BS on this. Unless MS told Valve they would take the heat for it if they wanted to charge, which I bet is what happened.
If you notice in other polls, there are a large number of XBox's in the world...but more importantly, the average play time on an XBox is MUCH higher than other consoles at 5-7 hours daily, compared to 2-3 for PS3 and less than an hour for Wii. Logic would say that because of the 3-4 times...
I was in a Fry's yesterday, and noticed a big Mac banner that listed why you should move to Mac. One of the reasons was, "Macs don't get PC viruses." I was about to call bullshit and false advertising, until I realized the wording..."PC viruses." They didn't say that they don't get viruses at...
If they are not trying to hide the location of these traps, as the quote from the police department says, then what seems to be the problem with owning a radar/laser detector?
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on my Asus Eee 1000HE. It came with XP, but Windows 7 seems to be running WAY smoother. Even with the default config of 1gb RAM and slow 160gb drive, it was much snappier. I went ahead and added some Crucial 2gb and a Seagate 500gb, and it's running like a...
This just shows how out of touch Sony has been, in every market segment, for years. From all the stupid comments from Kutaragi on the Playstation to the audio division and their root kits, to the film industry. I hope they all die.
Looks like the folding@evga and Overclock.net folding groups are doing quite a bit more points per day and are catching up to us. Get to folding people!
Per your own linked article:
"The transition of the Internet to IPv6 is the only practical and readily available long-term solution to IPv4 address exhaustion."
Note that NAT can very well continue to provide plenty of addresses to internal networks, especially if on a Class A subnet. IPv6 is...
Netbooks will go the way of the dodo soon enough. Since laptops KEEP coming down in price and KEEP getting smaller, there will be no point to getting these underpowered and overrated machines. You can get a full featured Windows or Linux laptop in the 3-400 range now with dual core Intels or...
Price is firm at $250
This is a like new Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) with 13 new games. All games are in their original cases (except for God of War which came in the PSP case) and have their manuals. The UMD movie Superbad, charger, 32mb memory stick, and travel case are also included...
Even though the Mac ads are FULL of blatant lies and misconceptions, you gotta hand it to their marketing department...the commercials are hilarious. And people (unlike us) who don't know any better, will actually buy into this shit.
Think about it. The Mac demographic is primarily made up of...
I found it to be much faster than both IE7 and FF3. But the reason I dropped it almost immediately is that the frakkin zoon is just text scaling. I have a 24" monitor @ 1920x1200 that sits back a ways on my desk, and I'm getting old so my eyesight is not what it used to be. Both IE and FF...
Did anyone care to notice the express wording of this list?
It says you have the right to EXPECT and DEMAND.
Hell we've always had the right to EXPECT and DEMAND....doesn't mean it ever got us anywhere...
I don't see anything in it that can be labeled as [H]ard. I really goota go with everyone else on this one. You have next to ZERO choices of the parts you put in it, the case is butt ugly, the highest end card you can put in it is not very high end, etc. They state for the "power user on a...
I want this laptop to perform at top levels at all times. The CPU just didn't seem to be there when I needed it. So I went into the BIOS to disable Speedstep.
It turns out that if you disable the Speedstep, it forces my 2.6 C2D to only run at 1.2 and never go any higher!!
It says in the BIOS...
The one I went to was in Plano, TX. The had about 8 on the shelf, with the BFG 9800GX2's sitting right beside them. Apparently, BFG is rushing these things to retail.
