Gotta agree with the previous poster. I bought this phone 2 months ago. It's OK, but definitely has memory issues and acts very sluggishly at times. But if you really want a Windows Mobile phone, it might be a good first choice for you.

D0 is a newer stepping that supposedly can hit the same frequencies at a lower temp than C0. But in my experience reading through forums, it seems to be hit or miss. The i7 rocks either way -- I'm just not so sure that the D0 is anything noticeably better than the C0.

i7 is the way to go

Just stick with aircooling... no need to spend all that extra cash when you can OC to 4.0 GHz with air.

It took me 7 different tries with that cooler to get my load temps down into the mid 70º's. Huge pain, but I'm glad to have figured it out.

I don't think you'll have much luck getting past 3.4 GHz with the stock cooler. But if 3.4 is enough for you, you can prob hit 170 BCLK with 20x multiplier and acceptable temps using the stock cooler. I was running stock for about a week and had my 920 at 3.2 easily. Didn't bother to push it...

My D0 has also been tough to get to 3.8 GHz stable on air. I've had to bump Vcore up to 1.3v and QPI up to 1.355v. My temps idle around 45 ºC and 80 ºC load. The D0 can definitely be a challenge!

Go with the i7 920 -- you won't be disappointed.

I think all you can really do is set everything to Manual so that you don't have to worry about auto voltages. Not much help, but I think that's all you can do.

Both fit on the 1366. I have read the Dark Knight has comparable performance to the TRUE, but costs a decent amount less. Prob up to you which one you'd rather spring for.

I had my i7 920 running at 3.2 on the stock cooler for a week no problem. Bumped it up when my new HSF arrived. But if you are sticking with the stock, you should be able to go 160 BCLK x20 without any issues.

I just built a PC with the PC P&C 750. Been running for 2 weeks now with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I can't hear the PSU fan at all (if it makes noise, it's drowned out by my CPU and case fans). Fiction!

+1 for AS5. Arctic Silver has never steered me wrong through my various builds over the years.

The UD3R is cheaper, but the SLI version costs more than the standard UD3R. This makes it pretty close to the UD4P in price. Add in the fact that the UD3R only has 4 RAM slots and doesn't support triple channel memory, and I think the UD4P is worth a look over the UD3R for only a slight price bump.

Could anyone tell me the maximum CPU Voltage for the i7 920? The Intel page I found states 1.225 V, but I see that some people here have gone beyond that. So I'm not sure what to believe.

You can disable the multiplier changes in your bios if you'd like. The increase is due to Intel Turbo Boost. I think it allows your multiplier to increase by 1 when needed. I think the decrease is from Intel EIST. No clue what the pros and cons are of having them enabled or disable --...

Crap... I just put one of these in my brand new build with an i7 920. The temps have been a tad high and I've been meaning to remove and reattach the thing, but I hadn't realized there was a sticky residue leftover from the plastic it came with! Sure hope nothing bad results from it.

I just built a rig with a D0 i7 920. I went with the GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P for my mobo. Everything works perfectly right out of the box. I'm not sure what my BIOS version is (I haven't gotten around to updating it yet), but whatever version it is, it's working great so far.

L4D2 just looks like a big patch to me... basic gameplay and engine will be the same. Adding some new features and levels == PATCH, not a new game. I'm annoyed that Valve will be charging us for this update.
