I guess this is the closest to any evidence that its coming.-> http://windows7news.com/2010/01/04/windows-7-service-pack-1-nearing-external-testing/
I kind of jumped the gun listing that... but this research is going to turn into something bigger that I think everyone will appreciate.
No no... now that would be a little crazy. I wanted to create this list to get a handle on the different versions. I personally have about 50% of the OSs and products listed so far on disc but I knew I was missing a lot of them.
Does anyone have a TechNet or MSDN subscription who could send...
Hey everyone! I'm doing some research and I'm trying to put together a list of every version of Windows Client & Server products along with version number, date released, product number and number of discs. I've had a lot of people come to me lately to fix all sorts of systems with different...
Wanted to bump this up because I can't decide between the two routers. What one is most stable? I keep reading about both of them rebooting or not connecting to the internet.
I looked up your laptop and it should have a "Express Card Slot". Its basically the new PCMCIA that uses the PCI Express BUS on your laptops motherboard. And it provides some insane performance. So look for a 802.11n Express card.
Ah, Cat 6A (Augmented) rj45 cable and Cat6 SCTP aka FTP cable are both 10GB certified. Though it is recommend to have shieled RJ45 cable as there are still interference problems with Cat6A.
They have been.... Extreme Networks switches all come standard with 10GB ports. There is about a dozen other companies that have 10GB port with their switches. Though... more so consumer level companies should have them by November.
Umm no...
"They are the S310e-BT for storage acceleration and the N310e-BT server NIC, and are priced the same as their SR fibre equivalents - that's $1995 and $1295 respectively."

Thats not an option but thanks anyway for posting that. The problem is that Endian Firewall is not blocking anything period. And I can't come up with an answer as to why it won't block.
Already did plus I have .myspace.com for any subdomains and it still doesn't block. From what I understand the ":" is used for ranges. So 216.178.32.0 ":" 216.178.47.255 should include all IPs between 216.178.32 and 216.178.47 Am I missing something in the formatting? Do I have the ":" wrong??
I don't understand what is going on with it. All I have going is the firewall ACL list... and no the transparent proxy nor regular proxy is Enabled.
I have added a DENY on the firewall for ip address range of 216.178.32.0:216.178.47.255 and the port range is 0:65535. Am I missing some...
I am trying to find a good external hard drive for use with VMWare Workstation on my Lenovo laptop. Preferably a 300GB+ HDD with 16MB cache and 7200RPM. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just threw that many users in the mix to see what people would say as far as spec goes. About half that is the real user base. Again I'm looking for the ULTIMATE as far as what hardware Endian supports. Also... I am not looking at any other appliances period. :p
SATA is as far as I...
Lets hear it everyone... what are your ideas? Looking for the ultimate hardware with a base requirement that it would support up to 500 users and a 100Mb internet connection.

What is the best these days for checking heat output of devices inside a computer case? Probe K-type Digital Thermometer or laser/infrared non contact digital thermometer?
Any feedback is appreciated!
As per the title... what is the best for cleaning dust out of a case?
I have looked at cans of air but their expensive over time and then there is the harmful chemicals that are flammable and not good for the atmosphere, etc. Then I was looking at the following that uses standard CO2...
I am trying to find a solution to password lock Firefox when someone tries to run it. It need a solution to stop kids from accessing Firefox without permission. I have looked all over the official Firefox extension page and haven't found anything that works. The only thing I have found close to...
No, not just layer 1. And thanks for the link! Anyone have any favorite tool brands? On a side note I have been looking at Fluke network testers but have found the prices obsurd. Any recommendations for other brands?
Through a series of timing conflicts while using my fathers network equipment he has asked me to build my own network toolkits. I need to build three toolkits which are…
1.) RJ45/RJ11, etc network toolkit
2.) Fiber SC, LC and MTRJ network toolkit

Yeah, I originally had a decent grey gredient overlay in the background which is included in the psd file.

I've been trying to get a business card for a friend together. But can't seem to get the touch that I want. I am trying to go after a Web 2.0 look that is something clean yet sophisticated. Below is what I have so far. I was messing around trying to make a web 2.0ish logo but it doesn't seem...
Recently I was asked by the staff of a Boys and Girls club to setup VNC on some computers. Basically the staff wants to monitor the kids and would like to do so via a thumnail view multi session. (Currently there is no server at the site) There busy a lot in the office and they don't have time...
Well... I've had a Endian Firewall setup at my house for a good 6+ months now and it has been great except some problems. It doesn't seem like a lot of the features work at all.
Basically all I wanted to do is have everyone except a few IPs (setup via MAC Address) go through the proxy. I...
Sorry to dig up this thread two weeks later... but those prices are way way to high. For one... a DS3 and a T3 are the same thing just different names. Also a DS3 from Level 3 can be had for around $3500 a month. Everything else is at least a third the price of what you said. Also... as per your...
I would have to give a no for websense. There are a LOT of ways around it. Heck I was at a nonprofit site recently (Which leechs off of the city for an internet connection in which they have websense deployed.) and found a 9 year old kid that was able to get around it!
Make sure you have the neccessary ports open. Endian is statefull firewall. Also make sure to restart the firewall after turning off/on certain features. Such as filtering...
I have to second Intel NIC cards. They are IMHO the most solid NICs out there. D-Link, Netgear and Linksys are the worst cards out there when it comes to NICS. I still remember one time installing Server 2000 and a error message came up telling me that D-Link cards were not supported for the...
Recently I've been finishing building two Socket 603 dual Xeon servers and recently bought 4 cpu coolers. Problem is that they didn't have the metal retention brackets to lock the cooler down onto the cpu. I have been searching the net for the last day and can't find them. Anyone know where I...
Only problem with what you said... we already tested what we were told and loaded it onto a Gateway and a per part built pc and there was no checking the bios whatsoever. Everything installed fine and never asked to be activated.
Heres another mystery to add to the pile. With large purchases of Dell computers that come with a XP Pro cd for new installs only does not require a cd key nor ever asks for one or ever shows a screen with a serial key already pasted into the text boxs. Haven't looked at the EULA yet on those...
