I was looking at building a new system using my older 6800nu for my wife to game on but wanted to make sure that the MB chipset and video card don't have any issues.
I know the NF3 series seems to hate the 6800 line but what about the NF4? Any problems with using those boards with the 6800s?
I picked up an Nforce3 board last month and so far it is having no problems with my 6800nu.
ECS K8 Nforce3 MB
Athlon 64 3000 754
XFX 6800nu
1 gig DDR 400
XP Home SP2
Driver V. 61.72
I have to say though I would have been a bit torqued off as well to discover that a new card had the wrong bios installed.
Glad to see that there was someone at XFX willing to research the problem and try to work out a solution for you.
Just wanted to say that I was a bit surprised on the 15th when my XFX 6800nu decided to die without warning. Some kind of short in the psu power connector would cause the PC to not even attempt to power up if the card was connected to the PSU.
However I went to XFX's web site and decided to...
Tom's Hardware Guide has it in a market review with a bunch of the cards from around 2003.

Basically it's about one third the speed of a 9600SE card.
I just dropped by the local Fry's to get a good look at a few cases before I take the plunge and order one.
I saw the Raidmax 668 there and really liked the case however I noticed a few differences between the one on display and the ones I have seen listed online at Newegg or even at...
You can't.
It's a broken "feature" on the 6800 cards which Nvidia is hoping people will forget was ever mentioned since they seem to have no intention of trying to make it work.
Well after Michael from BFG got involved things straightened out rather nicely.
They overnighted a new BFG 6800GT to me this afternoon to replace the defective 6800nu card.
The new card was packed very securely (covered in packing material and wrapped in a BFG T-Shirt) ;) and works...
Well I got the replacement from BFG today. (After paying $25 to have it shipped via UPS 2 day)
I was afraid that there might be a problem as soon as I opened the box. The card was in a static bag, bouncing around in a 12"x14" box with only four loose 12"x12" pieces of bubble wrap to "protect"...
Correction..
My card from Outpost worked well from Tues through Friday night when it was pronounced dead at 11:53pm.
BFG is cross shipping a replacement to arrive on Wed.
Ordered this last week from Overstock. Arrived Tuesday and worked really well until Friday when my PC shut down in the middle of a game while emitting a continuous "Beeeeep" until the power was disconnected.
I rebooted and ran the game again but this time started monitoring the temp settings...
