I hate to say it, but the card hardware may be at fault.
I had a similar issue with my media center PC a while back. I was using an 8600 GT with the same problem: occasionally, I would lose the HDMI signal to my TV. Sometimes, disconnecting and reconnecting the DVI-to-HDMI adapter restored...
I agree, repairing is a bit counter-intuitive. If you want to fix an item, you have to find a second item of the same type, then choose the repair option from the Pip-Boy item menu. Then you can use up your extra guns or armour to fix your existing ones. It kind of makes sense -- you strip...
In general, you don't. According to the manual, there's a perk you can take to boost your stats. There may be some items in the game to give you a permanent or temporary boost.
Bah. I've been a gamer all my life, and I don't expect that to change. I remember playing Populous as a kid, playing the original Warcraft and C&C (over modem) with my high school friends, and blowing off steam with some Unreal Tournament while working on my university honours project.
Time...
Assassin's Creed for the PC has better graphics than the console versions and some more interesting city missions (like stealth assassination challenges).
Maybe vietchuot didn't like it, but I found Assassin's Creed to be a decently entertaining game.
It could have been done intentionally. A lot of map providers intentionally make minor errors in their maps in order to identify their maps if someone rips them off or resells them.
Apparently, Windows 7 is set for 2011. Since the release date is so far off, anything you hear about at this point is just rumour and speculation. But, considering Microsoft's history, whatever compatibility problems you're having with Windows Vista will only be worse in the next version.
Interesting glitch...
Unfortunately, I found little use for money later in the game. After completing the main quests and most side quests I found, and selling most of the junk items I collected, I had over 5 million credits and nothing to spend them on. By the time you're level 40+, most...
I got my first D&D set (the original D&D red box) when I was 11 or 12 years old, and I played the various revisions of D&D on and off for the next 15 years. Unfortunately, running campaigns took too much prep time, so my gaming group stopped stopped playing a few years back. We still get...
Let's the thread back on track, shall we?
I have no problems running the game now, but I did have a few weird issues when I first installed it. I'm running Vista SP1 x64, and the startup executable crashes on me unless I run the game as Administrator. Maybe it's Securom related? Also, I had a...
One other unfortunate possibility is that there's a hardware problem with your video card.
Last summer, I was a experiencing the same issues as you, with the NVidia driver constantly crashing. I put up with it for a while, until I started seeing video artifacts while playing games...
Indeed! I spent countless hours playing, modding and tinkering with Oblivion. Maybe I should reinstall it again... :D
Nope. Only designated fences will buy stolen goods.
Apparently the game will still be using the classic 6-button control scheme. Are there any good 6-button arcade-style controllers available for the PC?
I've got an XBox 360 controller, lousy D-pad and all, but I'm not particularly eager to play Street Fighter on it.
I've got a wired Xbox 360 controller, and it works great. It's one of the best available game controllers for the PC. Many newer games have built-in profiles for it, as well.
The only issue I've had is that the analog sticks don't always re-center precisely, which causes a bit of drift with...
Apparently, there are rumors that Bizzard has started working on Diablo 3 -- they recently acquired the diablo3.com domain and there are job postings on the Blizzard web site that seem Diablo-related.
The only game I ever pre-ordered was The Orange Box, over Steam. And that was only to take advantage of the 10% discount. I suppose pre-ordering might make a bit of sense if you get a discount or some extra freebies, but I've never run into supply problem in my town.
The game looks like it has some potential.
I'm just glad that EA is taking a few chances with something new instead of using all its resources for yet another sequel or Sims expansion pack.
Yeah, which is too bad. I wouldn't mind if you could pay a fee to transfer a game to another user, but I guess that kind of system would be prone to exploits and would cost Valve money.
Glow, if it's just the account name that you don't like, don't worry too much. You can change your Steam ID...
I don't see this as a problem. The benefits of DirectX 10.1 over 10 are small, and almost no cards support DirectX 10.1 anyway.
Bring on the bug fixes!
For those of you who don't like vita-chambers, the latest patch for Bioshock allows you to turn them off. It doesn't make the game that much harder, but I found it more satisfying to play since you know you're not essentially immortal anymore.
Yeah, with good reason. But it was disappointing mostly due to the huge hype and seriously buggy initial release -- it was by no means the worst game of the year.
I found it really bad when it first came out, but now -- 12 or so patches later -- the game is much improved. I wouldn't pay...
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin and doing some of the postgame bonus quests in Etrian Odyssey.
I'm thinking of picking up Ninja Gaiden or Professor Layton next.
Both games are good, but I think TF2 is better than CoD 4 multiplayer.
I didn't like the original TF either, but TF2 is well balanced and has a whole lot of variety to it. It's just plain fun to play. I found that the community is a lot more mature and well-behaved than CoD 4's community...
I was curious about that... rather than having to police the server, isn't it possible to use a server mod or something that disables the Martyrdom perk?
Nah, Ultima IX wasn't the worst game ever. It was an early attempt at an open-world 3D RPG -- the formula was later improved with games like Gothic and Morrowind. It did, however, have the worst dialogue I have ever seen in a video game.
"Are you saying the Guardian is my evil twin?!" :D I...
I bought the game last week and tried out the multiplayer, and I'm finding that all these bizarre rules are really making the community seem kind of... stale, I guess.
I've also seen servers that ban you for using certain perks or weapons, as well (ex. the grenade launcher or Martydom perk)...
I though that Oblivion doesn't support HDR and AA at the same time unless you use an ATI beta driver (AKA the "Chuck patch"). The article is kind of old, but check here: http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=9682
Agreed, the Hellgate: London demo is pretty bad. I was hoping that it wasn't representative of the full game, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. My roommate got the game, so I had a chance to play it for 10-12 hours. It was fun for a little while, but the bad outweighed the good. I found...
