I tried using that Thermalright paste and a clear liquid came about of that syringe! Im like wtf? I guess the stuff separated from sitting too long, so I just used an old tube of AS2 I had from a long time ago and it still works great.
yeah I've been hearing that a lot, but I played the same song using Foobar and Winamp and to me, I can totally hear a difference. Maybe it's because I don't have winamp configured right with the same equalizer setting or what not and it's not apples to apples comarison, but I like Foobar better...
I like mine a lot, Im starting to tweak my sound settings with Foobar and Kernal Streaming and it sounds great with my Audigy 2. These speakers seem to be very directional meaning if the speakers aren't pointed at you, they won't sound as great. So position those speakers as well as you can...
hmmm, yeah maybe I'll test it. I'll underclock it a bit and monitor my temps. It idles kinda high around 38-40°C. Hopefully I won't get any stability problems underclocking it either.
I have my x800XL overclocked with ATI Tool and ATI Tool has the option to load an Overclock profile when a 3D application is detected. My question is, is it better to have your card underclocked in windows? Like if I have my card underclocked below stock will it use up less power and have less...
My FSB shows up as 22mhz eventhough I run it at 278mhz, so it's probably a glitch somewhere, weird

wow, thats a lot of fans, why not get just one 120mm fan? or yoru case doesn't fit one? Anyways, a filter is better than no filter at all but it will restrict air flow a little.
I loaded the drivers from the CD it came with and then ran this update that came out yesterday.

seems to be everything in one nice install file. Hoped that helps.
Yep, both x800XLs I got from Fry's and shop.ati.com had no sticker. Looks like only the reference boards for the reviewers got the stickers. Oh well, the card is flipped upsidedown so you'll never see it anyways.
the subwoofer works when I set it to 2.1, Im starting to think it's EAX. I played call of duty and the front left and right has bass but when Im shooting my gun, I can hear it with the center but no bass.
I would put both on DVI, the colors and brightness may not look the same if one is on VGA and the other on DVI, but that also depends on your monitors too. I have a dual VGA head with 2 Sony trinitrons of the same model and the colors aren't the same eventhough they're at the same color...
Thats weird, I can hit up to 295 HTT no problem on mine with 1.1 BIOS, but my RAM couldn't take it that high. Did you try to disabled Aggressive mode, I think thats what its called, in the Cell Menu? I heard that was stopping people from geting past 220HTT.
If your mother board has a PCI-E x4 slot, I heard you can stick a PCI-E video card in there. The slot is open ended so it'll fit. Suppposedly it's going to take only a minor performance hit running it on the x4 slot but you're not going to run games with it anyways. Get a cheap x300 or...
I have the Audigy 2 ZS and the Logitech Z-5300e 5.1 speakers and whenever I play Half Life 2, Far Cry or Call of Duty, it seems like the subwoofer only kicks in when the sound is playing from the rear speakers. Like when I shoot my gun the front speakers are playing the sound but there is no...
I also had 2 x800XL, one from shop.ati.com and one from Fry's. I OCed both and I could only get 430/560 max on the Fry's card and 445/575 max on the shop.ati.com card. Try to OC both and see which one OCs better and keep it.
These speakers are great. It plays music ok, I think my mp3s sound better on my sennheiser headphones though. But playing Far Cry and Half Life 2 with 5.1 is awesome. You can hear things behind you, in front, and to the side. I think the Bass doesn't sound too good, a little muddy, but I...
