I am currently running a windows (service pack 2) desktop pc. My motherboard has 2 SATA ports and 2 dual channel IDE ports (total of 4 ide). My current hard drive is the WDC WD1600JB-00GVA0 (IDE). I am wondering if i could buy a new hard drive and have it run Linux and switch between the 2...
I did a n00b wiring job last year and never had the chance to post any photos. So I decided I should do that right about now. Let me know what you think.

That is really retro/1337 looking. I would not be suprised if that is in fact how they end up making them in the future. I like how it looks that its full with case heavy duty utilities on the inside and it looks so plain and simple on the outside. Nice job.
Two words: bureaucracy. It may just be that they havn't yet got around to making a universal page, nevertheless i am not suprised. Its one thing to encourage peole to become internet users, (I use mozzila - note the sarcasm) and its another to discriminate against those who don't. We will just...
The original is better in that it had some flash and the color sheme in my opinion is better. But if thats how they like it , thats more important. The new one in fact looks more professional as well.
I'd say go without the window, it would loose the "ellagance" and beauty of it. If you want a window, just make a custom one, or just buy the standard case.
The wires are fine. Nice clean rig ;) . If you want to install a window on the side pannel you could try that; "all the cool kids are doing it", but either way, nice job.
I dont know what to say!!! Truly nice job dude. Although you fastend the monitors really well, arn't you the least bit scared that they would fall on you??
read all the settings in your bios really carefully. Thers probably a setting with the boot order or something that has to check the rpm.
Thanks for clarifieng the question. :)
Why dont you want it to read the rpm? Is it slowing your boot, or are you getting an alrm or what. If you want your mobo to not even recognize your fans as fans, jut plg them directly ot your power and dont connect it to your mobo ( exept your cpu fan, always have that connected, just in case)...
No my case is doing perfect, really happy with it, il post a link soon, to a page with pics. I have just never seen this case with hardware in it. I see it online and in magazines everywhere as if its the case everyone has, yet i have never seen it.
Nice job. I've seen that tower before, and i think yo umake it look really pro. You can go without fan grils, but i would agree that you should give it a little personal touch to it.
It could be one or a few of several things:
a) Your room temperature is higher than his, therfore your blowing hot air into your computer which obviously can screw up your temps, so open a window or something
b) you might have put too much thermal paste, it sounds like you did it right, but i...
Great idea man. Your definately the first person i've heard fo whos going for a wow mod. How about (the desktop shortcut/ my aim buddy icon). There are sites where you can ask for custom fan grills, if that helps.
Its only "click click click" if you have no gaming attitude. It is virtually traveling to some remote planet and living, and surving in it's society in terms of our reality.
The dimensions for the xp120 are: 110 x 125 x 63mm (L x W x H). Add 2-3 inches for the fan width. Now measure your case with the mobo in it. If you look up the dimensions online, youl get screwed cuz online, it doesnt have your mobo installed, which can mess up your measuremnets up to an inch!
Yeah, its actually pretty loud. I dont have the hnumbers or anything, but compared to your typical pc fan, its pretty loud..And massive, as you can see in scaling to the comp.but hey it gets the job done.
